We spent two days at Wells Gray Guest Ranch and loved every minute. The staff is friendly and inviting; the cabins are cozy and warm, and so nicely decorated in the western theme. The peace and quiet at the ranch is unbelievable - no phones, no tv, it's great. We also did the day adventure and saw some of the...

It's great to stay here. The ranch is located at 20 kilometers from Clearwater on the road towards Wells Gray park. It's a beautiful location, we had a great stay at our cabin. It was basic but had everything we needed. It's very peaceful and quiet. Don't hesitate, just go there and enjoy!

Was part of a tour group, which was meant to be camping but instead got upgraded to the bunkhouses. What a joke! Down a rutted track, full of mud and potholes I opened the rotting door to my cabin which had clearly been patched at the bottom. No working lighting and a wonky bed that wobbled precariously when attempted to...

I am so happy we found this place, both for the wonderful stay at the guest ranch, but also because of the superb activities we did with them. We went on a canoeing and exploring trip in Wells Gray Provincial Park with one of their staff ("Willy") and he was extremely knowledgeable about all sorts of plants and trees. He...

We arrived in Clearwater with no accommodation booked. Went into the very helpful visitor centre who recommended the ranch. We were a little bit unsure but decided to have a look before committing. Slightly above our budget but with breakfast and dinner included it was really good value. We had a beautifully equipped cabin which was spotless. The owner was...

The surroundings of this Ranch are just breathtaking! We stayed in one of the small cabins with two bunkbeds. although it was really simple and there was no electricity or running water in the cabin, it was a great place to stay (probably because there was nog electricity or running water). We had a small porch and there was a...

Actually stayed here in 2003 and 2007. We had a short 3 night stay here some years ago on our first visit to Canada and found this place just great. Yes it is a little different to the usual, but that makes it even better. Granted there is not an extensive menu (bison stew was good though!) and the breakfast...

We stayed here for one night as part of a tour group and found the accommodation to be clean and comfortable. The views and surrounding area are very peaceful and quiet and the staff were very friendly. The only cons were the over priced food and drinks on offer but as there is nothing else around for miles it suited...

My wife and I stayed at his guest ranch for three nights in May 2014. We were on our way from Jasper to Victoria. First impressions were not to bad but it went down hill from there. While checking-in we booked for dinner, which was a BBQ, that is all that was on the menu and it was the same...

Wells Gray Guest Ranch is located in stunning scenery but we were bitterly disappointed with what was offered here. It was totally obvious that the owner was trying to save a dollar wherever possible, even if it meant making his guests feel awkward and uncomfortable. I think they take full advantage of most guests being one time visitors as this...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
WESTERN HOSPITALITY ON A GUEST RANCH AT THE ENTRANCE TO BEAUTIFUL WELLS GRAY PARK Despite the rapid growth of its urban centers, much of Western Canada is still untamed frontier. One of those areas is the Wells Gray Park, 5200 sq. kilometer of protected wilderness in Central British Columbia. Bounded on the north and east by the Cariboo Mountains, and on the west by an upland plateau, the Wells Gray Park encompasses a broad spectrum of mountain scenery. The area is abundant in flora and fauna. Caribou, moose, black bear, beaver and wolf freely roam the park, and local streams are well stocked with trout. Horseback riding, fishing, mountain biking, river rafting, hiking and canoeing into the local wilderness are all part of the ranch's daily summer routine. In the winter the most popular activities are dog-sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and wildlife viewing. Your skilled guide will lead you to adventures on remote mountains, valleys and lakes in a setting as spectacular as it is challenging ... more   less
