New owners have plans for redevelopment and extension. Present buildings do need some work: especially paving; lighting and wiring. The 'shabby chic' appearance is part of this hotel's charm. The incredible water's edge setting means that inevitable winter storms take their toll. The inner grass courtyard is a fabulous asset. But the greatest asset is the exceptional helpfulness of the...

My daughter and husband with their three children booked accommodations at this location for July 23,24, and 25th. They were travelling from Kelowna for my fathers celebration of life. This was the same day as the Nanaimo bathtub race and the ferries were running late and over crowded. They were able to get across just in time to attend the...

Great Hotel, super friendly hosts. Rooms are quite large and really nice, albeit not ultra fancy like at a luxury hotel. However the location is amazing. Beach is a stone's throw away, large balconies on the second floor. Given the reasonable rates, I'd say this hotel has incredible value. We will be back again for sure.

I stayed here for just one night, it was a stop along the way to our main destination. The room finishings and decor were very retro and outdated but the rooms were clean which was important. The views of the ocean were great and the sunset was beautiful!

This was a great stay. Not sure why there are negative reviews. Yes the property is older but the welcoming staff, quiet room, ocean view, comfortable bed and beach access more than made up for that. We will stay again. Great relaxing weekend get away from the city. Try to get a second floor room the view is better.

Was our anniversary, booked a special room for the occasion six weeks in advance, was told it was a for sure. When arrived was put in a room that was on the highway instead of the ocean room I requested. The room was noise and not that clean. Ruined our anniversary and stay, will definitely never go back.

One night only, location and rate was very good. Great view of the water, with balcony so you can enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the beach. Room dated, but spacious and well appointed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable.

As mentioned the location and view are fabulous. You truly are as close to the waters edge as can be so the sounds, smells and sea creatures abound but.....I was disappointed to not get the room that I was promised and upcharged for. The rooms are large but really dated (70"s). Our room was on a slant from the entrance...

Pleasant enough accommodations, right on the ocean; a little dated but spacious, clean room and comfortable bed. Our neighbourhood was evacuated late one evening due to flooding, so emergency services sent my dogs and I to the Sand Pebbles Inn where we spent 2 nights with many other evacuees. It was a very stormy time so we were not able...

rooms are nice and clean, right in front of the ocean. You can see sea lions swim in the morning right beside the hotel and hear them in the night. Staffs are very nice as well. A very pleasant place to stay! Will definitely visit again.
