Thank you Marietjie, Inus and staff for a wonderful stay at your lodge. The hospitality was outstanding and the food delicious. The Lodge is well maintained and décor compliments the surroundings. The atmosphere and friendliness is so warm that you do not want to leave. You come there as strangers and leave as friends. Will definitely recommend this lodge to...

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay as 3 sisters celebrating a birthday. Hospitality excellent and the food is really great. The quiet walks on the beach were the highlight. Thank you for an awesome stay.

We stayed for one night in January 2016 during a 25 night/15 location road trip, so this review is relatively objective. This was our third visit. Easily found with the fabulous dunes and beach a constant - to walk along the deserted beach and listen to the ocean at night is so good for the soul. The large chalets remain...

Awesome, sensitive, caring and gracious this is what I found the Service to be. The rooms were Huge Comfortable and Luxurious. Service once again was TOPS - whereby management would send the evening meal to your room where we'd sit in front of the fire and have a wonderful romantic dinner. X Ideal for a weekend away, ideal to reconnect...

My husband and I stayed at Draaihoek for a weekend away to celebrate our anniversary. We were not very lucky with the weather and it was misty and cold the whole weekend but it was a lovely quiet and restful stay none the less. The food in the restaurant is lovely (springbok carpaccio especially!) and the staff friendly. The room...

Draaihoek Lodge is the best place to spend a quiet relaxing weekend away from the rush and noise of city life. You are surrounded by dunes and nature and you fall asleep at night with the sound of the waves nearby. Definitely a place that we will visit again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Draaihoek Lodge is situated on the West Coast of South Africa with a unspoiled 5 km white sandy private beach. Draaihoek Lodge offers accommodation in 8 luxury suites, each fronting the scenic strand veld and dunes of the Atlantic Ocean. Furthermore we have the Manor House with its 3 luxuriously appointed bedrooms overlooking the vlei with its unique flora and bird life available. Whether you dine in The Restaurant, on the terrace or picnic overlooking the waves of the West Coast, you will savor the flavors of our mouth-watering classics and gourmet dishes prepared by the kitchen team. Fare from the kitchen will guide you through the flavors redolent of South Africa's cooking tradition and the West Coast surrounds - borrowing from the Cosmopolitan table to create a heart warming taste experience that endeavors to touch patrons' souls. All meals are served with quality wines selected from our cellar. Je seux qu'on se voix - come and join us. The private Nature Reserve reaches from the Atlantic ocean inland to Sandveld's mountain range and across to the Verlorenvlei, a RAMSAR classified site, south of Elands Bay. The coastal border of the Reserve stretches along an undisturbed sandy beach, hugged by rugged dunes and favoured by flocks of birds typical to the West Coast. The uninhabited bay area is frequented by whales, seals and playing Heaviside dolphins. ... more   less
