My wife and I had the good fortune to return to Domaine De Manville for the 3rd time in the past 7 years. This 5 star rated resort is exactly that, 5 stars that does not disappoint in any way. It is situated in the heart of Provence in a valley just below the beautiful town of Les Baux. It has an 18 hole golf course with 3 restaurants. It is a converted old farmhouse with over 50 rooms. All rooms are very spacious and exquisitely decorated, some having balconies overlooking the pool area with the mountains in the background. Service was amazing with the staff always going out of their way to accommodate and help their guests. We had dinner at their gastronomical restaurant which was an experience in itself. Everything that came out of the kitchen was creatively decorated and full of exquisite flavors. At the end of our meal, we were invited to the kitchen to meet the chef and his amazing staff. A wonderful touch at the end of our dinner. We also dined at their other bistro restaurant on another evening and again, the food and service was exceptional. The bar area is so inviting, as well as the grounds outside around the pool area. We had pre diner drinks every night by the pool to enjoy the beauty and the whole provincial atmosphere. Hotel De Manville is highly recommended.

We arrive at the Domaine right at Brunch time , so was a little busy but were checked in no time , room was ready which was great .
Got a room on the ground floor, across from the pool.
The room was very spacious, walk into a sitting room , where they was the mini bar , and coffee machine, as well as a desk, then went down a corridor where the full size bathroom , walk in shower , bathtub and restrooms were located , surprisingly they was a 2nd restroom, a large walk-in closet , with iron board , iron and safe , then the bedroom with king size bed , and TV .
The room was so quiet , it was perfect .
The minibar was stocked with white wine , flat water ( Thonon) , Badoit water, organic juice and snacks, chips and chocolate , refilled daily.
All the staff was very helpful, we had a very nice walk to the walled castle , they offered water , and actually to drive us there.
They also had availability at the Michelin starred restaurant ( L’Aupiho) which we went ahead and booked, this was a wonderful opportunity for us and truly enjoyed.
The pool was at perfect temperature to just walk right in , it seems the depth was the same everywhere right around 5 ft , not busy , and very enjoyable , and so large .
They had a variety of entertainment for kids , which was well thought off, large playground, with ping pong table and foosball , something for every age.
It located in the middle of a pinède and olive grove , just dreamy .
Personally everything was perfect , I have not complaint was so ever , will definitely stay there again if in the area.
They also had charging station for those of you who need them and bicycles available.
The concierge was also very helpful with all our requests

Excellent hotel in an excellent location. We've spent two nights here and the overall result has been magnificent despite two minor critical opinions.

The location is superb, close to Le Baux, a gorgeus village in the Provence area. Quick check-in. The room is fantastic. Spacious, with a very comfortable bed, a stunning shower, a complimentary mini-bar, filled with soft drinks, water, chocolates, etc... We couldn't visit the SPA due to our tight schedule but all the other common areas were really good, especially the bar where we spent some time, enjoying some drinks there.

What was somehow disappointing for a luxury hotel such as this was the breakfast (too simple) and the Bistro. We had one dinner there and the whole area is too small, with tiny tables and a menu with few options and extremely expensive, taking into account there's another gastronomic restaurant in the venue (Apiho), with very high prices.

Apart from this, it's been a fantastic experience.

Mid August we stayed at your hotel for 2 nights. As this was our third stay and we were really looking forward. From past experiences we were used to a personal approach (for example addressing my son by his first name when we are in the lobby), clean rooms, night turns in the evening, excellent service in the restaurants, ….
This time this was not the case:
*Spiders webs and dust next to my bed
*no night turn
*poor wifi the first evening
*On Thursday 13 August we had lunch in “At the Bistrot”. Very poor experience.
We ordered lunch, drinks and a bottle of rose Ott Clos Mirielle
After 10 min we asked where our wine was
We were informed they did not have a bottle in the restaurant and were fetching one in the cellar
Sometime later our wine arrived together with our lunch
To make things worse, the waiter had us taste the wine which was warm
He offered some ice cubes to cool down the wine. This we refused, this is an expensive bottle which we should just not cool down with ice cubes
Half way our lunch we asked for the manager (it took some time to get over our first anger), we explained the problem. He offered to cool the wine in some other quick way, we reused for same reason. We informed him we did not want the bottle anymore.
We asked for the bill. To our surprise the bottle was still on it.

We came to La Domaine fe Manville for the second time. It is a beautiful place in the heart of Provence. The hotel provides a very cosy atmosphere, has an excellent restaurant (bistro) with fair prices - and the location is a perfect starting point for trips to the many must-see places around (Avignon, Aix, Les Baux de Provence, St-Remy de Provence). The kids had much fun in the pool and during the city trips.

This is a very lovely and very exclusive resort in Provence. I would highly recommend staying here but it wasn't perfect. We were upgraded due to my Amex status which was appreciated. Our room was incredible - very large and luxurious! However, one thing I did not like was that the toilet was in a separate room - across from the bed and so you had to cross the room and go into the bathroom to wash your hands. This was very annoying, especially in the middle of the night! Also, the flush did not work properly, even after we mentioned it to the staff. In addition, we had a massive balcony overlooking the pool but the door didn't lock properly. Hopefully this can be repaired! One night, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. People left their room and went outside. No one from the hotel came to advise us on what was transpiring. That could have been handled better. Apart from that, the staff was great when we asked for recommendations. The breakfast was superb and the glass room where it is served is stunning! There were lots of families with young children and I watched how effortlessly the staff accommodated them. One night we ate in the casual restaurant and it was fine. The night we ate at the fancy restaurant, we were very disappointed. It was overpriced and our main course was blah and tasteless.

Domaine de Manville is righteously one of the best hotels in terms of customer hospitality and service. During our stay the place and its staff had a relaxed coolness combined with always helpful and overly mindful service. With teenage child and mid-size dog we felt welcome at any minute and more and more relaxed the longer we spent time at Manville. Bistro and Restaurant gastronomique are likewise places to indulge in local products and live music of high quality made the stay even nicer.

We have stayed at the DDM a few times but not in the last 5/6 years. It was excellent before with the exception of the restaurant quality, so we were very pleased to see that has now changed and the emphasis on delivering a restaurant experience to guests worthy of such a beautiful hotel has now been rectified. We also enjoyed the Bistro - almost like dining in the trees! It was lively and relaxed with great service.

The spa was outstanding, the massage made me feel so special and cared for. My only wish was that I had booked more treatments! I didn't want to leave. It was beautifully executed by outstanding therapists that listened carefully to us and were very professional and intuitive.

We stayed in the villa this time, and the service from all of the staff was just outstanding. They were so professional, polite, focused on our needs and really delivered. The villa is spacious, spotlessly clean and the setting in the trees was private and peaceful. I can not fault the lovely villa pool, comfortable abundance of towels and we really enjoyed the villa experience. I do however love staying in the heart of the hotel in the main house, so we will have to consider what to do for our next visit.

The bar and live musician at weekends was really fantastic with a glass of something chilled under the huge trees in the warm sunshine, it is what holidays are all about.

Teens loved the golf and swimming, we can recommend the The Carrières des Lumières and a visit to nearby galleries in St Remy.

All in all, a really great stay and we will most definitely be back soon. Such an idyllic corner of France, with very warm and genuine sense of service ~ it is hard to beat and we much preferred Domaine De Manville to the Baumanière overall.

The hotel is really lovely. Beautiful outdoor spaces. Nicely equipped rooms. Reception was helpful with recommendations before and during our trip. The breakfast in the glass house was a wonderful way to start the day. We were traveling with a little dog and she was welcomed in the hotel. The location in Provence was fun with lots to do in the area.

Despite all these great points, unfortunately, we are unlikely to be return guests for one single reason. The hotel is dispersing scent through the air system in the public places, restaurants and spa. Apparently it is their “signature scent” and they are enthusiastic about it. You know the woman who is overusing perfume and the polarizing effect is that you can’t get far enough away? Like that. It’s a shame. The hotel is lovely but it’s like staying in a perfume bottle.

Despite what the SLH website says - King beds are only availabable in junior suite category and above.

Deluxe room not recommended for 2 persons. They have an oversized bathroom which is nice, however it cuts into the size of the “bedroom” which has very limited closet space and not even a bedside table because the room is so narrow.

We flew into Marseille and rented a car at the airport for the drive up to Domaine de Manville and to explore the area. We arrived on Thursday midday and left early on Monday. In truth we used the hire car to get to and from the airport only!!!!!!!!! The hotel has 2 luxury vehicles (Mercedes and Audi) to take guests to local attractions, villages, restaurants etc. We used the service to go up to the walled town / castle of Les Baux de Provence; to go to L'Oustau de Baumaniere for lunch (Twice!!!! It is awesome!). The on-demand service is free to nearer attractions and for a drop-off / collection in St. Remy (which is about a 20 minute drive) it was €40. The hotel will collect you at Marseille and return you there for €380 round trip.. With the benefit of hindsight, we need not have hired a car and we spent time in Les Baux and St. Remy - what we did not do was to spend a lot of time exploring the local countryside but that was the nature of our itinerary as part of a wedding weekend. Natasha, the FOH Manager is English by birth and is a delight; Louis, the Concierge, speaks very good English and it may be that they could advise you on local tours to take in sights, lavender fields etc. Did WE need to hire a car? I think the answer is no - but we had a lot of events to enjoy associated with the wedding that we were attending - and the Domaine is a delightful place to stay. Driving around country lanes is easy enough and, from what we saw, very pleasant!!!! We did not go to Arles or to Avignon - having visited these towns previously but if you want to spend time at these sites (and they are amazing) then a car may be a good thing. The more I think about it, if I have not been able to answer your questions correctly, I suggest that you drop a mail to Natasha Lattanzio at Domaine de Manville and tell her I said hi!!!!! I have provided a politician's answer - for which I apologise!!!!! Neither one thing nor the other.......please let me know if I can provide responses to your actual itinerary. Enjoy your stay ;-)
