Stayed one night as had business in the area. This motel was almost full but the room was very tired and seriously in need of a makeover. Next time will be spending a little more and staying at another location in town.

We stayed at the Travel lodge for 2 nights while were visiting family in Courtenay.
The room was a standard double room with 2 beds, which is what we had chosen. I was very surprised that during Covid 19 the room cleanliness was very poor. We brought it to the attention of the manager but nothing was done.
Since we were visiting with family, we were only using the room for sleeping. The next time we come to Courtenay we will find somewhere else to stay.

Great stay. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was good and in sufficient quantities. Centrally located. Internet and TV worked well. Surronding area was quiet and close to shopping and restaurants. Plenty of hot water for showers & baths.

My sister and I have stayed at this motel before which we recommended it. not now !

Do Not Stay here !

The buffet used to be very good but now it basically is nothing you can have toast, cereal and cold scrambled eggs and hashbrowns.

No more fresh omlettes personally made by staff and no more waffles you make fresh.

The rooms are small and we had a large round table under the tv stand that stuck out 4" making it difficult to walking around room.
There was also a large chair that we had to move to get in and out of the room. We asked to have the table and chair moved but they said they had nowhere to move it to, the motel was not full! No hairdryer in room but they did bring me one.

Good Afternoon, Thank you for the feedback regarding your stay. We recently upgraded all of our rooms with new furniture and are still in the learning phase of what should and should not belong. I can assure you we have taken your feedback into consideration and have made the arrangements to have the room more accessible. Thank you for your patience during this time as our only goal with the new furniture was to enhance our guests stay!

We booked this place last minute on a holiday weekend. Then we read the terrible reviews, so upon arrival we asked to see the room before paying the full amount for it. The receptionist at the front desk was extremely nervous, and refused point blank to let us see the room before staying in it, stating “Look at the photos on the internet. Your room is exactly like that. It’s hotel policy, we cannot let you see the room before you book.”

Well, the room was nothing like the internet pictures. The first thing you notice is a sort of humid cigarette smell that they tried to cover with stinky aerosol, even though the rooms are all supposedly non-smoking. There are big carpet stains, the bathroom door is peeling off in a large chunk, the walls are paper thin, and there are coffee stains on the sheets.

Free breakfast consists of a brown bag with a granola bar, a water bottle and an apple.

The worst though, is that they started hammering on our ceiling at 7:45 am, on a Holiday Monday. They were apparently redoing the floors...

For 50$/night this would be a bad deal. But for 150$/night this motel is a downright scam!

We drove by the Best Western, the Super8 Wyndham, and the Bay View Hotel, and for similar prices, they are definitely better deals. Seriously, just don’t book the Travelodge Comox.

2/5 stars. Only because they are pet friendly, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable.
Stayed for around 2 weeks. not sure what is wrong with housekeeping, but beds made once in 12 days, room needed a vacuum which was never done, garbages were barely changed. Not a huge deal but you at least expect a little more from housekeeping when you’re staying for a while.
The locking mechanism to the room doesn’t work well, we had to get new keys 6 different times as we were constantly locked out. The walls are super thin, making noise an issue, and we found a crack pipe in the parking lot.
Wouldn’t recommend if you have other options.

I booked the hotel, got my hotel room key, walked in the room and it wreaked like cigarettes. I am very sensitive to cigarette smell and any types of strong smells. I couldn’t get a refund because as soon as you step 1 foot in the room, it’s yours and u can’t do a re fund! They should of told me it was a smoking room.... Argued for 40 mins about the re fund.. never Staying here again!

Our family booked 2 nights directly through the hotel. It was obvious there were lots of permanent residents and our family with young children was given a room right amongst the smoking and drinking and swearing along the front of the rooms. At least twice during the night we were woken by a woman in a nearby room loudly welcoming men into her room. The following morning there was a fight inside the adjacent room. I was out at the time but my wife and kids feared enough that they barricaded themsleves in the room. When a staff member came to investigate she was told to f off and mind her own business.

Fearing for the safety of our family we immediately packed up, booked another hotel, and went to the front desk to request a refund on our second night. Front desk staff were not surprised and said only the manager could process a refund as we weren't giving 24 hours notice. The staff promised to pass on our phone number on to the manager who was going to contact us. I have since called twice, emailed twice and not received a reply from the manager.

Unlike other Wyndham properties during Covid where bagged breakfasts are being supplied, we were not offfered any kind of breakfast, even though it was advertised and shown as included on our reservation (and owner has not bothered to remove the Hot Breakfast Included sign out front).

My first visit to the office was to let them know someone had been smoking in the room, so I was not charged when checking out the following morning. Front desk refused to come and inspect the room. I returned to the hotel later that evening, where I witnessesed drug deals and people fighting in the parking lot. The following morning we awoke to wet floors and luggage as water was coming up from under the floor boards. when I asked for someone to inspect the room, I was told he could not. No assistance or refund was done to assist us as we packed up our wet suitcases and left.

My wife and I stayed here last weekend. Some rooms may be like the photos show but ours certainly wasn't. It was very poorly cleaned and had a cigarette smell. Most others staying here seemed to be longterm tenants that were drinking and smoking along the front of the hotel rooms. I looked out our window and two homeless looking people were looking into our car windows. When I yelled at them I watched them go into a room a few doors away. The front desk staff were friendly enough but seemed almost scared to give out the managers contact information when we asked. According to them the manager was on property but "unavailable" We left after one night of a three night stay and moved over to the nearby Super 8. I have been trying to get hold of the manager for a refund but no luck.
