The Basecamp Lodge Golden is often celebrated for its welcoming atmosphere, complete with a cozy fireplace and rustic, cabin-style charm. While the rooms are generally found to be clean and comfortable, some guests have mentioned issues with soundproofing and size. Despite the commendable cleanliness and comfortable beds, the hotel has been critiqued for its basic amenities and the absence of room service, leading to mixed opinions on value for money.
The service, although friendly, has seen occasional lapses in responsiveness. Location reviews are split, with some guests enjoying the convenience while others express dissatisfaction.

The accommodation was average. The staff were friendly and the facilities were clean. However, I would have expected more amenities considering how expensive it was to stay there. There were 3 things disappointing about staying at the Basecamp Lodge: 1) There was no room service. We stayed 3 nights and no one came in once to tidy up our room, change our towels or make up our bed. We were expected to do that. 2) The sound insulation between the rooms was extremely poor. In other words - the walls were very thin. That meant, on our second night we could here a child screaming in the next room. What was also not very reassuring was that in the rooms, earplugs were provided - which was the only way to have a quiet night's sleep. 3) Finally - the photos advertising the Basecamp Lodge are extremely misleading. What a person cannot see from the photos, is that this accommodation is right next to an industrial park. The photos are closely cropped, and taken from an angle that it's only possible to realize how unattractive the lodge's location is upon arrival. In short, I would not recommend staying at the Basecamp Lodge for the price that was charged.

This place is like no other, the biggest log lodge I have ever stayed in with the breathless mountain and river view. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud and the room, I can't say anything bad about it right down to the soaps, body washes, and shampoo that left you smelling amazing. The 24 hour self serve coffee bar with all the latest coffee choices, hot chocolate, moccas, and more. You can make your own breakfast with the appliances they offer or you can have a variety of oatmeal they supply. The girls at the counter are so nice and helpful and spend time visiting with the guests. I will be back on my way through again.

The timber frame building is timeless and the cathedral wrap around windows provide stunning mountain views. The automatic check in was convenient and seamless. Above average quality hand cream, fluffy towels, comfy bed. Small rooms are a bit cozy for hanging dry ski gear but the space heater provided helps! Simple breakfast of coffee, tea and muffins is served in the lobby.

Wayyy overpriced for a basic room. $280 is robbery for what they provide on a mid week booking. I tried calling to book, nobody answered after 5 attempts. That should have been my first red flag. Thought maybe they were busy, so I booked online. Show up at the hotel, nobody at the desk. A note saying to call a phone number... no answer. Waited in the lobby for 20 minutes at 7pm, nobody around to check us in. I was beginning to think I would have to call somewhere to get my $ back. At that point I get a call from the hotel in Revelstoke saying I can help myself into my room. Came and went several times unpacking and going for dinner. Never a soul at the desk. Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in the rooms around you. Tv has approximately 5 channels. What a strange experience. Why are you charging $280 a night for a basic experience dressed up as a lodge when you have no staff that need to be paid? Surely a slimmed down experience should have a slimmed down price as this is the "self serve checkout" of hotels. Very unsafe feeling to have nobody monitoring who comes and goes. Not a soul in the building to monitor anything or convey an issue to. Wouldnt stay here again for the outrageous price.

The air conditioner was not working when we checked in on a very hot day. We could not bear the heat and departed, traveling out of the area to find a nicer location and air conditioning that was operational. The owner/manager refused to refund our money.

Pleasant overnight stay in this accommodation. The hotel is in an industrial area, but this did not bother us. Room and bathroom were clean and tidy. We personally find self check-in useful, but there is also a staff member present at the reception during the day hours. Coffee and tea could be taken unlimited in the lobby. Rooms are very noisy. Earplugs are ready in the room;)

We loved so much about Basecamp Lodge in Golden! There is a beautiful common space with small kitchen that includes a fancy coffee maker, huge ice tub and water station and even instant oatmeal and hot chocolate packages. There is also a microwave available. The common space has plenty of seating with several tables and also couches and chairs in front of the cozy fire place. Lots of windows with beautiful views and games for guests to use. We would definitely stay again whether travelling as a couple or with others. If travelling with others the common space is a perfect meeting point. The beds were comfortable and the whole room was well appointed. Not very big but everything you need in a bedroom and of course access to the common space.

The check-in process was very simple and the lodge is located just the right walking distance from pubs and restaurants in town. Don't know about wintertime but the view in spring/summer was great. Rooms were clean and a good size. We had the double queen (main floor and loft) room and it was just fine. The coffee/capuchino/latte/etc. machine in the breakfast area was a real treat

Couldn't believe we stumbled such a great place to stay. The check-in process was excellent with everything being done online prior to arriving and no need to stand in line to register or get keys. Rooms were exceptionally clean and the log interior of the lodge and the rooms were exceptional.

We had booked a two night stay but decided to leave earlier. It’s a good stay for one night for people with low budget, who are on the road and need a quick place to sleep and move on. Although they provide a fan the room was small and very very warm and noisy too. However clean and very nice staff. But other then the Sky Bridge there is not much to do. The village is not appealing at all. The bistro downtown is expensive but serve good food and very good service.
