We were crossing the Rockies in winter and were concerned as all the RV parks and campgrounds we passed were closed for the season. Our GPS points-of-interest told us that Golden Municipal Campground was open all year. It didn’t seem likely as the GPS had been wrong before (just about every journey!). The little town of Golden is charming. By...

e stayed here for two nights in June 2016 on a Camper Van round-trip through British Columbia and enjoyed it very much. At first sight, the Campground is rather unassuming, but in a very good state at a closer look, especially the showers and other facilities. We used the ones right at the Registration Office, as it was the closest...

We stayed here for two nights. Most of the sites are not very secluded but they are angled so that your trailer might offer a bit of privacy from one side. There were a lot of trains going by across the river. This was very noisy if you are tenting or a light sleeper. It did not bother our family...

So given the setting (close to town but also close to the railroad) we did expect some noise polution here. However, a crew of 20 workers working on the tracks the whole night was not what we expected. The tracks are literally behind the campground (40 meters, 120ft) and the insanely loud noise that lasted throughout the night made us...

I spent 3 nights there with some friends and had a really great time. The campsite was clean, located close to town, had some great scenery but wasn't very sheltered. I tent, so don't have the luxury of having that much privacy so some more trees and bushes would have been nice. The other concern was the train tracks across...

This is a fairly typical municipal campground with side-by-side sites and having little privacy. As their website says, the campground is located next to Kicking Horse River, which is a pleasant place to sit and contemplate the milky water as it flows by. However, their ad does not mention that on the other side of the river are train tracks,...

This is a nice campground; it is convenient to the town area, and it is on the river. Unlike many of the reviewers here, we enjoyed the trains, though they can be loud. The campground staff were helpful and the washrooms in the main office building were beautiful. The only real flaw is in the bathrooms in the actual campground....

Great location near town. Walking distance along the river to food and restaurants. Not too noisy except the train but I've found every camp ground has trains. My shower wasn't hot only warm. That was my only issue. Girls at the front desk were lovely. Helped me with all my questions.

During a recent trip to Canada we camped at the Golden Municipal Campground. The campground was very nice, close to the river and just on the outskirt of town. There was a swimming meet at the municipal swimming pool located just outside of the campground and so the campground was full. Nevertheless it was quiet. Beware that there are a...

It is just on the edge of town, walking distance. But nestled in the bushes against the river, so we still felt secluded. Trains and ice cream were a hit with the kids. Bathrooms and showers were awesome and clean. Firewood a bit pricey. Quiet.
