Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel, sharing a room with our kids.

The room was a good size, air conditioned, the beds comfortable and it was well serviced each day. The bathroom was good - the shower a little on the weak side in terms of pressure, but still did the job.

Breakfast was good - a selection of hot items, plenty of sweet treats, yoghurts, cereals, bagels and toast, fresh fruit and a variety of drinks. The staff in the restaurant are quick to refill when things run low and we found them friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is on the small size - which wasn’t usually a problem as we managed to get a table 3 days out of 4 - but one day there were no tables at all due to the hotel being so busy. Just something to be aware of if you’re on time schedule like we were.

A bonus is definitely the pool - we used it a couple of times. It’s well stocked with towels, is clean and a good depth. Opening hours for it are also good.

It made a great base for exploring Golden - Kicking Horse resort with Boo the Grizzly Bear is 10/15 min drive away, the Skybridge is just 5 mins, and downtown with some good restaurants also 5mins. You can do Emerald Lake from there within an hour.

We would definitely choose to stay there again.

We stayed for one night on our way to Vancouver. Comfortable room that was a good size, comfortable beds, great air conditioning and the hotel was so quiet given how busy it was. Good selection at breakfast, friendly staff. Would stay again.

Very nice hotel with what appear to be newly and nicely renovated rooms. My room had a complete kitchen with cookware, dishes, etc. Very clean and well furnished. All staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly. Breakfast was probably the best I have had in a breakfast included hotel. The only two negatives I have about this property are the price, which was about 50% more than I would have thought appropriate and the internet speed which was ridiculously slow.

Upon entering the room we thought it was nice and roomy and the couch was a nice feature. Stayed 2 nights and after first night the wifi didn’t work. Called front desk because the wifi booster in the room wasn’t powering on (not sure why room 105 needed a booster as we were 100 ft front front desk) He called me back and said the wifi had been “reset”. When we returned later in the day we found that the bed sheets had been folded over but one pillow was on the couch in a pile with the spare blanket. The coffee and cups had not been replenished and there was a tissue and piece of plastic on the bathroom floor that weren’t there when we left. The new towels were left on the sink. Finally the wifi never worked the rest of our stay. The bed was comfy and breakfast was decent but no bacon and the potatoes were undercooked the first morning. I asked if they had plastic spoons so I could take a yogurt back to my room. The lady said no as the food is meant to be eaten there. I asked if I could take regular spoon to my room and she just laughed and said no you can’t take that. To sum it up $340 a night is way over priced.

We chose this hotel to visit the surrounding parks. Positive points: Spacious rooms, good breakfast, swimming pool with an amazing slide, hot jacuzzi...
So why only 3/5? When we returned the first evening the room had not been made. The next morning I reported it to reception but was told that it was normal during the holiday period. Cleaning would be done on the 3rd day (no luck since we only stayed 3 nights) but I was told that if I wanted other towels it was possible! Never seen in a hotel until now. Finally the room was still cleaned on the 2nd day. Another negative point: the maintenance of the swimming pool. An old bandage remained stuck to the floor for the 3 days we were there and the slide stairs were very dirty (he must not have seen a jet of water for weeks). The whole thing is dated and needs a good refresh... For a BW Plus it's too modest...

Hotel is very welcoming with free coffee and cookies in reception on arrival. Also get free breakfast but this is served in a small seating area in reception and gets very crowded particularly if there is a coach party in. Food choice is limited and you have to clear your own table.
Hotel has a lovely pool which was always very quiet but was great for a relaxing swim at the end of a long day walking.
We stayed 3 nights. The cleaners didn't provide additional toiletries or coffee on days 2 or 3 so we had to go and ask for these at reception each day.
Room is well equipped with large fridge/ freezer and combi oven/ microwave and 2 ring electric hob. However the crockery and cutlery was mismatched and there were no utensils at all, the oven was missing its rack for conventional cooking, the one pan had lost all its non stick and the tea towel was not replaced in the 3 days we were there.
The hotel is a long way out of the town with no tempting looking restaurants nearby so we cooked for ourselves but found this to be quite difficult with the items provided.
We had a mountain view room which was great ( when the weather allowed us to see the mountains!). We slept with the window open on the first night but there is an industrial site behind the hotel that started work at 2am!!

This hotel was excellent value with amenities, view of kicking horse mountain and room size. Staff were amazing managing COVID protocols especially with breakfast area. The full breakfast included with your stay is amazing and makes this hotel a topic pick. The hotel was full with high school provincial ski teams, and the rooms and doors all well designed for quietness. We rented the family size room and with all our ski gear was a welcome site for space at just over 700sqft. if I can point to one opportunity is perhaps creating a ski locker options. With all the skiers the amount of ski’s and snowboards being packed around will eventually result in more maintenance needs on hallways and room walls and carpets. Perhaps create a ski locker system on the main floor to help store skis outside of rooms, and having to carry them throughout the hotel.

Good afternoon 443FrankV, Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with invaluable feedback. We strive ourselves on providing excellence service, and we are pleased to hear how much you enjoyed the property, level of service, care, food. Your idea on a ski storage room is certainly something I will have to further investigate, as this is an excellent recommendation. We look forward to hosting you again in the near future. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. The room had visible stains on multple surfaces. The floor in the bathroom was sticky. We didn't use the shower and we opted out of the free breakfast. If the rooms are dirty and unkept, we were left wondering how clean the kitchen would be. I generally believe Best Western provides great value for your money, this location did not reflect the Best Western brand.

We stayed here in summer 2023 and the buffet breakfast was very difficult to navigate. It was a small space and absolutely crammed with guests. There was not enough tables, people were having to leave the area to find somewhere else to eat. Additionally, by 8:30am they were out of yogurt, eggs, fresh fruit and plates! Many had to wait for the staff (who were run off their feet) wash and bring out more plates.

Our room was comfortable, no complaints there.

The pool is minimal. No hot tub.

What a soulless hotel in a horrible industrial area. There is little around the area to eat but Ricky's next door provided a reasonable evening meal to 2 hungry and tired travellers.
The included breakfast was also one of the worst- Try Ricky's next door if you appreciate a half decent breakfast. I am so glad this was only a one-night stay.
