The Good: Very nice and modern rooms. Great amenities on site. The Bad: Absolutely intolerable noise levels from the in-house bar. The floor of our 3rd floor room literally shook with the noise. Sleep impossible until the sound system shut down in the early hours. For $200/night? Simply unbelievable. I only want one thing from a hotel and that's a...

We are really sorry that you were kept up at night. It sounds as though you booked yourself a Heritage Room which are all located on the third floor above our pub. We are up front with our guests that we can't guarantee quiet particularly on weekends. None of those rooms are $200 unless you had four people in there...

This really does feel like home away from home. The hotel staff, restaurant staff, pub staff all go out of their way to treat you like an old friend. The Castlegar airport closed down shortly before my flight was to depart, I swear the incoming flight was on its approach when the flight was diverted, so climbed back in the...

Yes the staff are incredible. I am happy to hear that all of the people working here took such great care of you. Sounds like you got the 'Cancelgar' experience as well. It's a true Kootenay getaway. Thanks for choosing the historic Hume Hotel & Spa.

My friend and I stayed at the Hume for an epic cat-skiing trip. The property and downtime at the Hume was just as epic. Great room, great staff. We stayed in the LadyBird suite which was quite spacious with good shared space and a layout that allowed us some privacy while sharing the TV just fine. The included breakfast was...

Hey Justin! It sounds as though you got the full Hume Hotel experience. The LadyBird Suite is my favorite in the hotel. Happy to hear that you hit up great conditions cat-skiing as well. We appreciate you choosing the historic Hume Hotel & Spa amidst many great options in this town. We hope to see you back next winter.

Over the past 17 years the Hume is the place we chose for celebrations: marriage, birthdays, new years, anniversaries.. We are always impressed by the consistency of food services, immaculate rooms, music, spa treatments, but the true heart of the Hume is the Staff. Many of the individuals have worked at the Hume for decades; stating "this is great place...

Thank you Joan, for a truly meaningful review that hits to the heart & soul of the operation. You can have the fanciest equipment, the biggest space or the slickest design but you really have nothing at the end of the day if you don't have a solid team of people that are there every day taking care of the...

a fantastic looking grand hotel, right out of a western, but when you go up to the room everything is very modern and up to spec. The beds are comfortable and the room is a decent size. the only down side is that upon checking it it was mentioned that a nightclub can sometime be heard, thankfully not on either...

We styled here during our west kootenay road trip and had such an amazing time. First time that we had slept over and we were taken back by the lovely renovations and fantastic decor throughout the hotel. The restaurants downstairs are fantastic and the pub atmosphere is something out of a 19th century English novel. There is also a real...

Thanks for saying so. We are happy to see so many of our guests loving the changes we have made to the rooms. Our final wing of rooms will be completed in two weeks! We have plans to update our family restaurant in April. Things are always being fixed up when you have a 118 year old property. We appreciate...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hume Hotel during our last ski trip in Nelson. Our newly renovated room was beautiful, clean, comfy and spacious. We had very good service at the restaurant, the pub and the Library Lounge. The food was good, everything about the Hume was above my expectations.

Planned on 4 night stay in the Hume Suite, #480, stayed 3 nights, should've left after first night. Noise (construction+pub music+street) meant quiet hours are 2am-8am. I understood from previous reviews and at check-in that there would be noise. Management did not inform me that the 3rd floor is under construction and all sound proofing was removed; the bass from...

The only positive that I can take out of this review is that it marks the 500th Tripadvisor review we have received, so for that we thank you! Hotel was newly renovated. Very nice bed and room, felt like home and not just a standard hotel. Location is good and walking distance from several restaurants. Hotel restaurant is good as well.
