We stayed at the Landing for 3 nights, and it was amazing. We didn't have the lake view room (I do suggest paying a little extra to get it, as the view to the lake is stunning), but overall our room was very nice. If you are checking in a little later, call them to let them know, as the front desk is not staffed 24/7, but honestly, it didn't bother us one bit. The service was super friendly, and since it is a small hotel, they take the time to chit chat with you. We loved having the restaurant on site and grabbed breakfast at Della's cafe (a small building by the Landing). Since it is a remote location meaning Port Alberni is the closest place and that is a 15min drive at least, it was super helpful to be able to grab breakfast and also dinner on site (helped a lot with meal planning). Overall great experience!

Wow, wow, wow. This was a delight of a find. Stunning location, super friendly staff and decent sized rooms.

Located about halfway between Nanaimo and Ucelet/Tofino, its a wonderful small hotel with just a handful of rooms -perfect sized for a family of 4 and quiet. The lake is stunningly gorgeous and we made full use of the hotel's (free) kayaks and paddleboards. There is a hidden waterfall about 30 mins walk where you have to use ropes to get down (our kids, 9 and 14, LOVED it). We also saw the beaver (named Justin by the staff 😀). Basic complimentary pastries and tea/coffee for breakfast.

Dinner was plentiful, delicious and not the standard fare - try the fry bread - and reasonably priced for the amount. Boats regularly parked up so must be a good place for locals too.

Staff extremely helpful and friendly, which was the cherry on top of a wonderful 3 night stay.

Ps The grocery store and taco truck are the last food stops for about 80km so remember to stock up if heading to Tolfino.

Such a great find. Rooms were very quiet, and clean with an impressive view of the lake and beaver dam. Restaurant food was so good, reasonably priced with unique dishes. Got to use the kayaks on site, which was very convenient. Staff were extremely friendly. Great hiking nearby. Will definitely come back again.

This resort leaves a lot to be desired. It sits right on hwy 4 where it is impossible to get away from the road noise. They send you across the parking lot to pick up a breakfast sandwhich from a fly infested hut which poses as a store. The resort has a kitchen so why not provide a continental breakfast for guests? The dining room is on a lovely deck but the chef needs lessons. Main courses are over cooked and often burned. Wait staff are young and have no clue how to set a table leaving us to ask for water glasses, cutlery and napkins. Small appetizer salads are $18....an outrageous price for what you get. They ran out of desserts for our last dinner there.

What you notice most is the lack of an experienced manager. Most times there was no one at the front desk to answer questions or even be available in case of emergencies. Garbage was overflowing in outside containers and chairs on decks at the end of halls were filthy and covered with cobwebs. The cobwebs even lurked in the trees. No one is around to look after outside seating areas. The staff are pleasant but young. They all wore masks but even at dinner merely stood around not quite sure of what to do.

Rooms are ok....beds comfortable but plastic pillows were ridiculous. Details need work. Lightbulbs not in lamps, bathmats forgotten, furniture needs updating and tv sets should be safely screwed into the wall.

Prices per room are expensive but service is usually non existent . Loads of laundry piled up in hall.

This place needs a manager with experience so that people know what their jobs are. We were disappointed.

We were tenting in Ucluelet starting Thursday into long weekend. The rain on Saturday September 4 was relentless, so we packed up all our wet stuff , after a few
desperate phone calls we found this gem , Sprout Lake Landing and Spa, booked two nights to celebrate Paralympian-Paratriathlon, Jessica Tuomela's recoup time from Tokyo2021.
The stay here has been nothing but amazing and very accommadating. Very peaceful atmosphere and the meals are amazing! The rooms are very comfortable and inviting.

My family had the pleasure of staying at this boutique hotel on beautiful Sproat Lake for four glorious nights in August 2015. This 7 room hotel is an amazing jewel offering easy access to all that Vancouver Island has to offer. The rooms were smartly designed and decorated with spectacular views of Sproat Lake. The lake view rooms are definitely worth the extra money. I was able to dock my boat at the hotel for easy access to glorious morning boards. All staff from the owner to the frontline staff were fantastic to interact with. Every single one of them had a smile on their faces and definitely made our stay more enjoyable. We had some special requirements in our room and every day, the hotel staff and owner (Jeff) checked in on us to see how we were doing. Finally, at about 6pm boats from around the lake come to the Drinkwater Social house bringing patrons dressed up to enjoy an upscale drink and/or dinner watching the sunset over the lake. This is an amazing resort with amazing staff....we are already planning on coming back!!!

The hotel opened in May, 2015, and is very nicely finished in distinctive style by local craftsmen. They left the lakeshore in its natural state, so there is no beach, but you can swim or launch a boat from the wharf. A family of beavers has made its home in front of the hotel, and I spent a pleasant 1/2 hour watching them from the deck. There is a good swimming beach at the provincial park 2 km from the hotel. The restaurant is very good. All of the staff are pleasant and welcoming - overall, a very enjoyable experience. It would be an excellent place to overnight en route to or from Tofino/Ucluelet.

I was there for two days for business trip in Port Alberni, but enjoyed this boutique hotel so much with my friends.
So nice staff, rooms like home and food was fantastic..
Hotel is across the lake and so relaxing.,
The only obstacle was they do not serve breakfast but the coffee shop across to hotel serves the best coffee and panini you can find..
I strongly recommend this hotel anyone goes to that part of Canada..

Stayed here for four night August long weekend while attending son's wedding. We stayed in room overlooking the lake spacious room, nice deck with Great scenery. Ate in the restaurant lunch and suppers, meals where wonderful very tasty and good portions. Had breakfast here twice don't order the in house breakfast sausage unless you like spicy food. All in all staff and accommodations where top notch.
Great weekend

There is a large dock off the back of the resort. Check their website under Activities . Also Sprout Lake Provincial Park is 2min drive down the road with beaches and beautiful trails to walk and Petraglyphs . We had a great time there late summer last year.
