Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Definitely a great place to stay with an RV. We’re from the UK and came just for one night. We stayed 2. The front desk were so helpful in planning the rest of our trip and in planning our hike up Mount Revelstoke. A beautiful area and a very well maintained campground. If ever we are passing again we will certainly stay here

Such a friendly, clean campground. The front desk was very welcoming and accomidating us with our big unit. We enjoyed the dog off-leash area. The campground is only a 10 minute walk to the river and a 15 minute bike ride to the lovely city of Revelstoke. We will definately camp here again!

Huge review, the cleanest, friendliest campground we have stayed in. So well set up for tenters who need kitchen facilities. Bathrooms are well maintained, super clean in all areas even garbage picked up regularly. Thank you to the owners and your friendly staff.

Beautifully maintained small site, really clean shower and toilets. 20 minute walk into downtown Revelstoke so close enough to go and see what’s happening in town whilst being far enough away to feel removed from it all. Easy access to sit by the beautiful river just 5 mins away.

This little RV gem is on the edge of town and was as clean and tidy as one could ask for at a small RV Park. The only negative is the train... The owners should be proud of how they keep it maintained and are doing improvements. The bathrooms were meticulous and offered showers that had hooks and places to sit. (Not always the case at RV parks.) A thumb's up to Lamplighter! And, you can walk or bike into town. Another plus!

We only stayed for one night, but was pleasantly surprised to find this campground. Reasonably priced, super clean washrooms, showers, kitchen area and laundry room. They care about their facilities and it shows. This is the absolute cleanest campground we've ever stayed in. Kitchen area had hot water, microwave, dishwashing liquid, dish drainer, several picnic tables. WIFI was fast and never dropped. Campsites are a bit close together, but shady. The train runs very close by, but I think any place that you stay in Revelstoke, you would hear the train.

We (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed at Lamplighter Campground in Revelstoke for 1 night on a round-trip around the Rockies from Vancouver. This beautiful, shady site is maintained immaculately, with flowerbeds, pitches and paths carefully tended. The facilities were conveniently laid out on our pitch for our 30’ RV and the site was level. Shower and bathroom facilities on site were extremely clean and the laundry room was inexpensive and equipped with modern, rapid washing machines and dryers. Free WiFi was available and worked very well. There was some train noise at night, but not as great as at most sites we stayed at on our trip. The owners and staff were very helpful and welcoming, communication prior to our stay was swift and efficient. It was the homeliest of all the many sites we stayed at. Fellow campers were a mix of European, Canadian and US RV’ers and local tent campers, some hiking on their own. There were no large or rowdy groups and the quiet hours were respected by all. Revelstoke town centre is a good ½ hour walk away across a picturesque iron bridge over a wide section of the Columbia river. If you are visiting on an August evening, as we were, then I recommend loose, long sleeved shirts and trousers and plenty of mosquito spray – even a net over your head, as we were bitten a lot on this walk! It’s an attractive town centre with many eateries and shops; we caught the end of some live music, the atmosphere was convivial and it felt very safe. In Revelstoke we found the best bakery of our entire trip – La Baguette, we highly recommend their bread and pastries, but if you’re parking opposite on the other side of the 4-lane highway, take great care when using the zebra crossing – our holiday nearly came to an untimely end here. Nearby is a Save on Foods supermarket, which was excellent (borrow the store card to get the discounts). Our whirlwind trip through BC and Alberta meant we missed out on a lot – next time we’d like to stay at Lamplighter Campground for a longer period and see more of the town and Mount Revelstoke National Park.

We’ve stayed for a bit over a week and our stay was very pleasant. Great and beautiful new accommodations, absolutely clean and well maintained! Very friendly and helpful people. Lovely city campground just a little bit outside of Revelstoke on the edge of Big Eddie. A visit to Revy is (give or take) just a 15 minute walk away. The campground is beautifully landscaped with gras and trees for shadow.

We stayed only for one night, but the highlight was going into brand new, very clean washroom and shower areas. They have gone all out on the construction of a new facility containing men’s and ladies washrooms, a kitchen area, and laundry facilities. The whole site is very clean and the people were all lovely to deal with both on the phone and in person. Downsides: RV sites are close together. And the train runs relatively close by, but I could tune that out no problem.

Response from Lamplighter Campground, Owner at Lamplighter Campground
Responded 6 Oct 2021
Thank you for your wonderful and informative review. We're delighted you liked the new bathrooms and facilities building. Sorry you found the sites a little close together; we're a small campground within the city limits but if we had more land, it would certainly be something I would like to change; that and the noice from the trains! :)
