My two sisters, a niece, and my daughter recently stayed at Belle Maison in hopes of enjoying an evening together and catching the tail end of the Perseids meteor shower. It was a lovely stay, from sharing the appies we brought on the front lawn, through dinner at the Sea Glass restaurant in Sidney, where we watched the start of an electrical storm from our table, to reconvening on chairs on the front lawn for a spectacular, panoramic view of the storm. The stay was capped off by a delicious breakfast served to us back on the front lawn. Ruthanne and Ross could not have been more attentive, yet never intrusive. They bent over backwards to be sure everything was perfect. The accommodations were also top notch - very comfortable and with attention to every beautiful detail. Thank you, R and R!

The owners Ross and Ruth Anne were very gracious. The home is beautiful and has spacious grounds and great views. The room was very nice. Very close to the Swartz Bay terminal. Breakfast was made to order. I would definitely recommend this place to fellow travellers. They used a service to book through, and we were charged two weeks prior to our stay. The booking is non-refundable.

Beautiful view of the water, kind and thoughtful hosts, quiet and spotlessly clean, delicious food. This was a place I will stay again as it was so comfortable and gorgeous. Beautiful gardens and vases of fresh flowers were delightful.

This was by far one of the best bed and breakfasts we have stayed in years. The property is beautiful and the place is spotless. The proximity to the ferry was perfect and extremely convenient to Butchart Gardens. A beautiful balcony breakfast was a great way to start every day. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Make this your first choice when visiting Vancouver island.

We had the Nest room which is very comfortable with an ensuite bathroom. Breakfast is served on the balcony with an amazing view of the water and the trees, a true little paradise (there were even deer grazing in the garden). The B&B is in a very quiet neighborhood, away from the busy towns, but still a reasonable distance to Victoria (30min by car), and close to Butchard gardens and Sidney (for whale watching). Ross and Ruthanne are amazing hosts and made us feel completely at home. We had a wonderful three nights here.

We enjoyed our one night stay at the cottage here. The cottage was clean and had nice amenities. The breakfast was very good. We had a little difficulty initially finding the B&B from the ferry docking, but our navigator got us there. The B&B is a close drive to the cute town of Sidney, which as some very good restaurants. My two caveats are the view limited of the water from our cottage area and the limited parking area for the guests' cars.

Response from BelleBelleMaison, Owner at Belle Maison Aupres De La Mer B&B
Responded 31 Aug 2019
Thank you for your review. The cottage placement was limited in its positioning on the property due to geological restraints. Therefore, if a view of the water is preferred to being nestled in the beautiful gardens, then the 2 rooms in the main house offer quite a great view of Satellite Channel and Salt Spring Island. As for the parking, it is only a bit challenging when there are 3 vehicles in the driveway parking area. The solving of this issue is restricted due to the high rock cliff bordering the driveway. Thank you for staying with us.

The Hosts greeted us even before we could make it to the door.
The house is beautiful and absolutely spotless.
The view from the balcony is lovely.
The room was very well appointed with in room TV, which you probably wont use because again, view from the balcony!
And the Hosts went way above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. I would rate this location as perfect.

Situated on a hill with a peek at the ocean, this b and B is lovely. We stayed in the cottage which a perfect example of a "small" house. It is beautifully furnished with all the amenities and a patio. The breakfast delivered to your room was excellent (eggs, fresh OJ, toast, super coffee). The proprietors, Ross and RuthAnne are very warm and make the expereince absolutely delightful. Highly recommended.

While we were there only for one night and had to get up early to catch a flight, truly enjoyed this beautifully decorated and very clean cottage. Loved it! Just wish i had one more night there. Did not get to experience the breakfast offered (starting only at 8 am) as we had to leave early for our flight but the owner was very accommodating and provided us with bread, jam, yogurts, milk for cereal (we brought) for our morning. We were greeting by deer in the morning which was very special for us.

Beautiful setting, excellent amenities, gracious hosts, and only 10 minutes from the ferries. We enjoyed the lovely gardens and beautiful view from the balcony. Sidney by the Sea is a beautiful destination. Belle Maison Aupres de la Mer made our visit even more enjoyable
