The owner suite is my favorite. He always makes us stay there. We have been coming to stay two times there. Very clean and accommodating. The location is great and easy to walk to the ocean for a nice walk. It is in a quiet street and neighborhood.

He has a sail boat and offer to go fishing or just to sail with him at a cost of course. Maybe, next time, we can go sailing.
The restaurant and the town is one of my favorite place to vacation.

Hope to go back again, Annie and Brad!

Darren was the top host and the accommodation was much more than a Bed and Breakfast. Facilities were outstanding. A modern laundry was available with detergents supplied, there was even a full picnic set in the closet for us to use and a barbecue on the balcony. Breakfast was supplied to the room and was both delicious and much more than you could eat. It was a quiet location and only a five minute walk from the town centre and waterfront. The room was fully self-contained with a queen size and a single bed in the bedroom. We were delighted with our overnight stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Corbett house mid September for three nights to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Our experience was amazing. Darren has the suites set up so you have privacy and feel as if you can come and go like it is your own home. The unit is fully stocked with every kitchen item you could ever want or need. Darren keeps bikes and all the gear (helmets, locks, bike pumps) for the guests to use. We used the bikes everyday and toured all over Sidney on them. It was spectacular. Since we walked on the ferry, we didn't have a car so the bikes helped us see and do more while we were there. One day we rode the bikes to the BC Ferries and went to Saltspring island and road all the way to Ganges to check out the farmers market.
He also let us borrow his 4 runner truck so we could go out to dinner one night. Darren is a bartender locally and is extremely knowledgeable about all the restaurants and activities. I can't say enough good things about Darren and his bed and breakfast. It was exactly what we wanted and more.
We will be back again for sure.

A fully contained unit, so it's great if you want to do everything there. Includes use of kayaks and bikes, which is a big plus (though know they are rentals and the bikes are not suitable for longer rides). The 5 stars is really due to the host, Darren, and the unit which has everything you need. The area itself wasn't so exciting... If you're coming in or out of the ferry it's worthwhile to stop for the night especially if you want to kayak or bike. That said, bicycling in this part of the trail (Lochside Trail) was unspectacular -- dull in fact. Better in Victoria area. We're avid cyclists and found it sadly disappointing, the path often alongside the highway. Kayaking was nice, if the day is right. The host, Darren, also has a sailboat and does trips on that, we didn't do that so I can't say how good that is. Sidney doesn't warrant much time at all, so staying more than a day makes sense if you're visiting someone there or are going to try the sailing, extensive kayaking (if you're coming for the cycling, go down to Victoria instead). We had our breakfast left for us: cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast/bagels, eggs, not a fresh made breakfast. Not sure if this was normal, but it worked for us. Nice cafe for lunch just a street over.

I have stayed twice at Corbett House. Darren is wonderful - a relaxed, welcoming and genial host. Excellent facilities and amenities, close to the water and downtown Sidney, at very good prices. My units have each had well-stocked kitchen facilities, including the tea pots, fresh flowers and sharp knives that are sometimes lacking in place like this. Everything is clean and bright. Lots of `extras' are right there - bicycles to ride, laundry, outdoor barbeque and seating, parking,....dog lovers will notice the two lovely and exceptionally well-trained dogs. Non dog-lovers will probably not even notice them - they stay quietly close to their owner and don't go near any of the guest quarters. A great place for a short stay or a long one.......

Corbett House is a B & B with a difference. The accommodation is more like renting a holiday home with individual entrances to the accommodation, access to barbecue equipment, superbly stocked kitchen equipment, and an excellent breakfast choice. The owner, Darren, was generous and hospitable: how many B & Bs provide bikes and kayaks free for use? Darren also offers introductory sailing trips on his yacht - a great afternoon/evening out. Sidney is ideally located for Victoria, Butchart Gardens and access to the ferries, airport. It's a pretty little town which is well-cared for and with some good book shops. Corbett House is close to the sea and the town centre. This is a B&B I would recommend to my friends.

Left immediately, horrible experience, host is negligent, directs guests to the wrong rooms and then tries to place the blame on the guest. He is not a responsible owner, a real hotel would be a better arrangement.

This amazing place was much more than we expected. The amenities and extras were beyond compare: from the snacks in the kitchen basket to the yogurt, juice and fresh coffee cream in the fridge; chocolates on the pillows, super comfy beds and pillows; the bathroom was paradise (the sink alone was worth the experience); the kitchen was outfitted with everything you could wish for (fresh coffee beans and grinder to make fresh coffee). The owner, Darren was accommodating and so willing to make our stay wonderful. I will definitely be re-booking at Kingfisher suites at Corbett House next time I am on the island!

We stayed at the Eagles Landing Accommodation via the Corbett House for six nights. The location was ideal and within walking distance from downtown. From the outside the location was very attractive. The bed was very comfortable and was very cozy. We arrived very late on the first night, but were awoken early with the numerous aircraft landing and taking off very close to the roof overhead. The noise from the aircraft was sometimes deafening. At first Darren, the owner was very accommodating. That soon came to an immediate end with his brash stand off personality. We found the accommodation to be clean, with plenty of towels, but it was very dated and did not look much like the pictures on line when you arrived. We never used the utensils in the drawer but, found there were very few of each. The stairway to heaven to the unit was narrow (hard to take luggage up) and rickety needed stabilizing. We ran out of toilet paper and paper towel as there was very few provided. Sydney and surrounding area offered quality fine dining. My suggestion is to rent a car to visit Victoria, Sooke, Coombs, Ucelete and Tofino to appreciate the many jewels of the area.

This Airbnb is in a house that's been converted to several suites with separate entrances. In a quiet neighborhood, within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Good for families. The studio suite we had didn't have a microwave, that was the only drawback.
