Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Staff are great but some work needs to be done. Rooms need to be cleaned way better as in carpet vacuumed esp along walls, plugs need to fit sink, burned out bulbs need replacing, a extra towel or two would be wonderful....and, to say you have a breakfast when you DON’T have one is wrong. That is partly why we stayed here and no meal but sure no discount either. Pretty bad when you can’t bother. Ramada in Hinton has it down to a fine art and could give lessons. Not too likely to stay here again.

Rooms were mostly clean. Had poolside rooms but the handles on both sides of the sliding door to the pool were broken. It was difficult to get towels for the pool, each room has 2 small towels regardless of how many people were in the room. Had to go to front desk to get an extra blanket as there were none available in the room. Continental breakfast had no fruit and there was poor selection. The juice was more water than juice. Vending machines were empty and there was no water, pop, or juice to be bought in the front entry like the pictures show. Toilette seat was falling off, light fixtures were bent and falling off the wall. Tub drain was broken, sink leaked. Will not stay here again.

Staff was very pleasant when we checked in. Double king room was very spacious and came with microwave and fridge. The continental breakfast had all your usuals, cereal, toast, juices, bagels etc, perfect with young kids.

Downfalls, the walls are very thin, could hear everything. Also, when your next door neighbor or room above used the water or flushed their toilet, the water running through the pipes would wake you up. Parts of the hallway smelled like smoke as well.

With this all said, it was a good price and if it’s just for a night......maybe stay again? 🤷🏼‍♂️

• A disappointing and badly managed hotel. First off and foremost, you’d better know exactly what day you’re checking out, because even with their clearly stated “48hr cancellation policy”, the staff and management will do everything in their power to charge you for the entire booking. Especially for snowmobilers, because nothing ever breaks down, right? That being mentioned, they’ll tease you with a discounted “Sledders rate” which apparently doesn’t exist once you check-in.
The pool and hot tub are kept clean, but the sauna and waterslide have been closed off for what looks like a year now. One staff member claimed it was a hygiene issue, while the manager then said they were “waiting for parts.” It can be assumed they are too cheap to keep these amenities operational. A 2 year old boy was absolutely crushed to find out this slide was closed, as they had it “open for use” on their website prior to this past weekend.
The rooms are tight. Hardly any walking space, heat registers are covered in dust and filth, and the hot water in the shower times out in 5 minutes so wash quickly. And be prepared to walk into your room at either 5 degrees or 30.
The hallways are disgusting. The carpet hasn’t been washed/steam-cleaned in years, the ceiling tiles are cracked, opened and stained, and one door to a storage room had literal cobwebs protruding underneath the door, as made evident by the uploaded photos.
The entrances and walkways are extremely icy and rarely shoveled. The WiFi strength is poor. One roll of toilet paper. No breakfast. Pool and hot tub closes at 9pm sharp. Certain parts of the hotel reek of cigarette smoke. The list goes on…

This review is not intended to bash and demoralize this hotel. This is my true and honest 3day/3night experience at this business. It should serve as more of a wake-up call to the staff and management to significantly improve the quality, customer service and business etiquette of this inn. Until then, I highly recommend your stay in Valemount to be elsewhere. Thank you.

I have stayed here several times as a stop over in the drive between BC and Alberta and it is exactly as advertised. Best Value. It's quiet, clean, close to anything you might need and most importantly, the staff are excellent. I left behind several items of value in the room and not only were they able to recover the items but they held onto them for me so that I could pick them up a week later on my way home. Outstanding!

Booked a room with two queen beds approximately a week before our stay. This trip was for myself and my two daughters.

When we arrived we were checked in no problem. Our room was down a weird side hallway that was out of the way. When we opened the door we were were greeted with a terrible smell of smoke.

When I went to the front desk to ask for a different room they told me it was the smoking room and they had no others available.

I would never book or stay in a room that smelled of smoke. The front desk staff never mentioned it when I booked and never mentioned it when I checked in. They assumed we would just stay in it and collected our $350.

With no other options at this hotel we asked for and we’re given a refund. Luckily we were able to find a room at another hotel in this very busy town.

This way of treating a customer is completely unacceptable and I will never book with them again. There are other much better options in Valemount.

I arrived home yesterday from a celebration of life for my mother and a burial service for both my parents. I had booked my room on the internet in a hurry as I was busy working two provinces away and was aware that pipeline construction was making it difficult to secure rooms in my hometown. Firstly, on checkin I asked the young lady at the front desk how they could get away with charging 28.75 % taxes and fees over and above the room rate. She explained to me that I booked through a third party therefore the property had no control over my charges. Fair enough. Note to self, pay more attention when booking rooms in the future. My wife and I go up to the room with our luggage and much to our surprise there are holes in the wall from something being removed. There are patches of white paint on the wall. There is nowhere to put our luggage except the floor as there is not even the standard fold out suitcase stand. There is also no closet and not even a coat hook on the wall to hang a dress shirt, dress pants or a dress! I complained first to a young lady at the from desk and then again to a man who was one of the managers. The management team couldn’t even see fit to change our room for us. Saturday morning we got together with family and went back to the room to change for the funeral and they couldn’t even be bothered to clean the room for us. The white patch on the wall was where the closet used to be screwed to the wall. All other rooms had closets except ours. I can deal with slightly older hotels/ motels, but I will never spend another penny at this motel and would highly recommend that others don’t stay in this facility either. There attitude towards their customers once the fee is payed is that they could care less whether you are happy with the level of service or not. I will only bury my folks once and my experience with this motel effected my experience negatively.

My partner and I stayed one night on July 7, 2021. Made reservations on their website. They did not inform us that this was an American company and the funds were in US. After going over the price ( thinking Canadian funds ). And confirmed there was a complimentary breakfast we had confirmed. At arrival, the front desk informed us there was NO breakfast we asked to talk to the manager. Front desk assured he would call us that evening. The phone call came after we were in bed sleeping. Unsatisfied with the room; dated decor; jetted tub was dirty; definitely not what a $200 room from what we had experienced should look like. We decided to do some investigating. Upon our investigation, we happen to call the company and OF COURSE there’s no compensation for customers’ grievances. DO NOT BOOK! However the hotel, although we booked third party, accommodated our grievances. Thank you Darcy, much appreciated you recognized our dismay.

Hotel was easy to find, staff was helpful by allowing us to move in a couple hours early. Air con worked quietly and well. Miscellaneous maintenance seems to be handled poorly - There were 5 unserviceable LED light bulbs in the room (I don't think I have had 5 LEDs burn out in my house since they were invented). Room was quiet and linen was clean. Continental breakfast was okay, but not fancy. I would stay there again.

Negatives : It needs lots of upgrades.
Basics such as the one (and only) bedside light not working, extension cords being used everywhere, heater in room not working (I had to use a wrench to work it), bathroom lights not working, cheap linen and towels, nowhere to hang anything ( room 210), wall lights have been removed.

Positive: Wifi good and jacuzzi was hot.

I wouldn’t stay here again.
