Detailed Reviews
Our family of seven adults stayed in four separate bedrooms. We had the good fortune of having the whole house to ourselves. The stately building, the grand porch, the detailed interior woodwork, and the period furnishings gave an adventurous feel of going back a century in time. We all appreciated and enjoyed the unique experience.
The location and delicious breakfast was a plus.

i really liked staying here - was a bit worried about the mixed reviews, but didn't want to stay in the village on my trip. it is old inside - but it's a mansion from 1901, and i actually think the furniture, art and decor from the era makes sense inside the house. it was interesting to look around at all of the antiques.
the location was awesome, walking distance to anything downtown, and a quick 10 minutes drive to the village. breakfast was really nice, the owner used to have a restaurant, so she knows what she's doing in the kitchen.
i'd stay again!

We stayed 2 winter nights in this lovely B&B. Our room was quite nicely done (although different from what the pics showed on their website) but very cold an dark. I'm sure the experience in summer would be quite different.
The breakfasts were tasty but very small, on the second morning we found ourselves heading for the nearest cafe after leaving the B&B (and we're not the biggest of eaters!)

The outside appearance of the house is gorgeous, but a terrible unkempt garden and in bad disrepairs.. It needs a lot of repairs both outside and inside. Very musty odors inside, and the furnitures are very old and in poor tastes. One exempt is that the owner serves a delicous breakfast, though.

We stayed at Thurso House for a Fall wknd getaway. Upon arrival we were upgraded to the large Suite at no extra cost! The Suite had a sitting room w/ fireplace and bay windows, large bedroom with big windows and very nice oversized bathroom. The house is so interesting and historic, full of character and has wonderful antiques and furnishings.
The breakfast was homemade - muffins, fruit, eggs and juice, tea & coffee..... very nicely prepared and presented. Absolutely loved the dining room atmosphere and had a great chat with other guests. The location couldn't be better - a 5 min walk to all restaurants & shops.
The woman who owns the house is very friendly & hospitable.
We will definately stay here again on our next getaway!

Thurso House B&B in Collingwood, Ontario [--] is is a gem of a find! We stayed there two nights in August 2007 and found the owner most helpfull and welcoming. The breakfasts were superb as were the rooms. The house is beautifully furnished and has a most relaxing feel to it.
Centrally located within the town, nowhere is too far and the location offers an excellent choice of places to eat. Not far away are the Blue Mountains - the views from here are breathtaking.
There is adequate parking space too. A most enjoyable house to visit.
