I just came back from staying at the Pleasant Manor Motel. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the people working there were very nice. I forgot my hairdryer and they were kind enough to let me borrow theirs for three days. They even let us leave our mountain bikes in the room while we enjoyed our last day in Collingwood. Very nice people and friendly. Of course, it has the bare necessities, but you can tell it was newly renovated. I don't recommend it for a romantic weekend but we were there for the Elvis Festival and therefore were not in the room often. I have to say even the people staying at the motel were very friendly. .

We called in here last minute. We had a day planned of adventure and where not planning to stay overnight. We were near Wasaga and near the area are other activity places like Jet Skiing. Anyway, we called in here and the lady gave us a quote (after we told her we'd only be there for a few hours and would not be staying overnight. When we called again to find out if they accepted all payment options (by this time she had already forgotten the earlier conversation?) she quoted a different higher price. We decided to go down anyway since if they had not accepted the original we would have come back to Toronto without sticking around. They did honor the original price quoted. The place is very run-down, the room was cold and probably would have gotten colder overnight. The cable and TV (tube) were working. The lighting and bathroom were sufficient but nothing special. Parking is right in front of your place and easy. The entrance should have a larger signs ahead of the place as we got so close and then made the turn on the 80km/hr road leading into it. Overall the place would have been terrible to stay overnight but for a few hours to hang out during the day it was not so bad. Be it, we would not have stayed either but it was a rainy day and nothing else was possible. The mismatch of quoting was what lead to a sour taste since we went here in suspense not knowing what we'd be paying or if we'd be wasting time. Oh, the place is very clean - but its outdated (light fixtures, tube tv, no extras (soap etc).

Comes in without knocking. Wifi outside only, no fire detector. Clean, basic, industrial wall lights no shade for eyes. Frame of the bed is a wood box without padding; hard on knees. Old dirty AC blows fuse if room lights are turned on.

I have stayed at this motel a few times and this time was unfortunately the last.
When flicking a light on during the night to use the facilities there was a cockroach on the table near the fridge. It skittered away, as did I the next morning.
Uggggh, I used to like it here and thought it was clean.
Nope.

!!!MUST READ!!! Apparently with this place the fire alarms dont come standard with the room (#12), and the owners of the place accuse you of stealing them, so be sure to really take a look around so they cant accuse you of stealing anything. Dont worry, it should only take about 2 seconds seeing as though the room is about 9 x 14 feet. Oh, and the beds, might as well sleep on a park bench, not kidding. I jumped on the bed and thought I bruised my tail bone. Then there were those bed sheets. My advice, bring your own. These have burn holes in then and urine stains, probably havent ever been washed. Ok now, you always expect that a motel shower wont be the cleanest thing.. right? Well, this place again, just falls way below what you could ever imagine. If you're having a shower, I really hope you're prepared for the erratic behaviour of the temperatures, one second its scalding hot and the next its "hypothermically" cold! Another thing, they say its in Collingwood? Try 15 minutes to the city, and about 25 - 35 (with traffic) to the Blue Mountain Ski Resort. Now I wouldnt have made such a big fuss about this place if it was cheap, well, guess what. They really get you there too at $120 - $160 a night. If the option was there, I would rate it at Negative 18! Dont put yourself through this place, its really not worth it.

If this motel was someone's home, it should be condemned. I was looking for the least expensive motel I could find in Collingwood, as I was arriving at 10pm and would be leaving at 7am - I only needed a bed.

First, it should be noted that this motel really isn't in Collingwood. It is on a highway outside of what anyone would consider to be the town.

The room I stayed in was barely bigger than the bed that was located in it. The walls needed significant repair work, and the room was absolutely freezing. Naturally the baseboard heater didn't work. The phone in the room was from the Sheraton in Toronto, and didn't offer a way to call the motel office. I discovered that the key I was given could not even be used to look the door, and you had to manually lock the door from the inside, before closing it (which could have been a problem since I had unknowingly left the room unlocked when I drove into town to get dinner, with my possessions in the room).

The internet connection was absolutely terrible - fortunate that it was complementary. However, I ended up using my cell phone as a hot spot. After unsuccessfully trying to sleep in the freezing cold for an hour, I decided to take a warm shower. About five minutes into my shower, the fire alarm started going off in the room due to the warmth of the shower. Never experienced this in my life.

I could go on about the people loitering outside of my room all night (due to the paper thin walls, I was aware the one of the individuals had just gotten out of prison and was looking to find any form of employment in Collingwood for the summer), or how the infant child of the motel owners was still awake and running around at 11:00 pm, but it would accomplish nothing.

After checking out of the motel the following morning, I had a function to attend during the day. After returning home, I discovered that I had left my travel bag at the motel. I called them up, and advised them that I live several hours away, but would be in Collingwood a few weeks later, and asked if they could hold it until a certain date. They told me this was no issue. At that point, I decided against sharing my view of the motel with anyone since they were at least kind enough to do this. The day before we had agreed I would pick up the travel bag, I called the motel, to discover that they had thrown it away weeks ago, because I hadn't claimed it. I realize leaving the bag was my fault, but it was totally within their power to help me out here, and they refused.

There is nothing about this motel that I could recommend to anyone. AVOID, even if cost is your only concern!

The Elvis festival in town resulted in three nights of hell staying here as a vendor. Avoid at all costs until this bedbug outbreak is resolved but judging by the infestation, just avoid it. Disgusting. Entire place needs to be fumigated. New bed then a new room - result? Covered in bites.

For the price we were not expecting luxuary, but our experience went beyond the mediocre accomodations. The husband/wife team that run this motel were rude and at times abusive to us. From the time we made the reservation to the time we left, it was as though they were doing us a favour letting us stay at their motel. We were threatened with extra charges at check out, and they hasseled us when we asked for our credit card image back. BEWARE!!!

This motel was very disgusting. We were suppose to stay here and the place was completly misrepresented on the bookings.com site we used. The rooms were dirty and the office smelled bad. l would not recommend anyone ever stay here. The staff was very rude with us when we questioned about the rooms and lack of cleanliness. We left there and immediatley went elsewhere.
