Living Stone Golf Resort is often celebrated for its serene atmosphere, modern conveniences, and well-furnished rooms that ensure a peaceful stay. While the rooms receive mixed reviews, cleanliness is generally praised, despite some guests noting them as dated and suggesting improvements. Service quality varies, with commendations for staff friendliness tempered by critiques of inconsistency. The resort's amenities, including a kitchenette, spa, and pools, are well-regarded, although not all facilities meet guest expectations. Despite its favorable location near local attractions, some visitors question the resort's value for money.

My wife and I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights at the Living Water Resort in Collingwood. We enjoyed the Aquapath Treatment at the Spa before checking in; then later that evening had a delicious dinner at the Lakeside Seafood & Grill with our daughter. The room we stayed in was clean and included a small but very functional Kitchenette, complete with a microwave, small stovetop and mini-fridge to store drinks and food. It had 2 comfortable queen size beds and a nice bathroom. While in Collingwood, we also enjoyed meals at Kelsey's, Minh's and the Thornburi Thai Restaurant. Before leaving on the afternoon of the 3rd day, my wife and I enjoyed a relaxing but firm massage at the nearby Cedar+Sage. Our RMT Michael did an excellent job working out the knots and kinks associated with stress. Overall a solid 8.5 out of 10 vacation experience. The 1.5 missing was due mostly to the cooler, rainy weather. LOL

We stayed in a 2 bedroom stacked townhouse unit each having 2 queen beds. The beds were excellent. The place was clean. There was only parking for one car between two units otherwise you had to park in the parking lots the end of the units which was alright. You were allowed to use the other resort's pool but you had to drive as the resort's pool is smaller and there is renovation construction at the main resort. We could have used more towels but you do have to pay for a change over in mid week (I always bring a travel towel anyway). There is a washer and dryer in the unit. A few minutes away from Blue Mountain as this was handy. Would stay again.

Used our RCI timeshare to book into a 2 bedroom Fairway Condo. These condos are older, located a fair distance from all the available amenities but quiet large. The two bedroom condo came fully equipped with a full kitchen, washer, dryer, dining table for 6, a double pull out sofa, two bedrooms (one room with two Queen beds and a full washroom with shower and jet tubs) and another bedroom with two queen beds also with a full washroom.
The furnishings were old and dated, although the unit was clean, when I looked for the dishes, I found them all in the dishwasher, dirty, the dishwasher had not been runned.
As mentioned earlier, we had booked here through a timeshare exchange over a year before our arrival. About six months before our visit, I was extremely disappointed to learn that we would be charged a $9.50/day amenity fee. When we checked in, I asked what the fee would cover and was told items like the internet, seriously? Also the pool and gym – however, it would be necessary to sign up to use any of these so-called amenities as pandemic health guidelines were still in place. Hence, almost impossible to reserve a time when we wanted to use these facilities.
Although check-in was easy and swift, absolutely no literature or details was provided regarding resort amenities – the ones we were paying $9.50/day to use. We learned of them be speaking to other guests and by walking the grounds.
The Collingwood area has much to offer, great hiking trails, amazing parks, take a drive out to Irish Mountain Lookout and visit the Coffin Ridge Winery.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but if we return, will probably stay elsewhere.

At first glance, the room was fine, looked like what we'd seen online and we were satisfied. This was a basic room with a king bed and couch, enough space for a couple and it was clean.

We immediately noticed the room was quite noisy due to the heater/fan. Upon closer look, one small, flimsy plastic cup in the bathroom and one paper coffee cup by the coffee machine were provided, hardly useful for 2 people. When we went to look out the window, our socks got wet from the carpet under the window, ughh! The couch was stained on both sides of the cushion. It was also not at all comfortable to sit on. Getting really irritated at this point, I explored the bathroom. The top of the shower surround had dust balls on it. The tub plug was worn and discoloured. There was paint the colour of the walls on the bathroom floor tiles, plug covers and baseboards (hardly a sticking point, but pointing to overall upkeep of the facilities).

As we left for lunch after our first night, we saw housekeeping in the room beside us and when we returned, they were at the room just past ours but our room was skipped over for some reason. No biggie overall, but this also meant no coffee for the next morning (biggie!!) FYI, this location has no cafe or restaurant but if you want a chocolate bar, there is a vending machine...

Parking was exceptionally poor. The lot is laid out very poorly. Vehicles were parked with spaces between them not big enough for a sedan to squeeze in between, but almost. When we returned late at night after our daughter's wedding, there were at least 4 parking spots that could have easily been available if people had parked properly, extremely frustrating! The front desk clerk suggested we park in the strip plaza across the street but we were afraid to get towed (late night and in winter!) He offered no other suggestions. There is only one route in and out of the parking lot and barely any space to turn around at the end once we realized there were no parking spots. It took a "many-point turn" to get out. The storage bin in the area made the manoeuvre much more difficult!

Most notable was the (atypically) loud heater/fan, which I'd hoped would fade into the background as I got used to it. Unfortunately, the fan could not be turned down at all and there was a random and ongoing scraping/squealing noise that made it extremely difficult to sleep at night. It was hard to ignore during the day as well. I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff after our first night and was told they would have to contact maintenance but heard nothing further. I literally slept with my finger in my ear both nights. I am NOT a light sleeper. This was the deal breaker. We checked out at 6:00 am after our second night because it was that intolerable. (after 2 nights of very little sleep!!)

Since we were in town for a wedding as parents of the bride and needed to get ready in the room, I'll give plus points for a spacious bathroom counter with plugs at both ends and a huge full length mirror in the actual room.

Don't expect to relax in the room, but if you need a drop down spot and you're out enjoying Collingwood all day and half the night, you'll be fine.

Very spacious unit, convenient location to Blue Mountain Ski Hill. 2 bedroom unit offered lots of space for us and our 3 boys. Like the layout with both bedrooms having ensuite bathroom and being on opposite sides of the living area making it quiet and private. Limited supplies in kitchen bathroom, with cost for extra garbage bag/paper towel/toilet paper so best to bring some extras from home. Besides skiing we skated 1 km loop around top of Blue Mountain, which was very fun and great views!

We purchased a 2 night package at the "Living Stone Golf Resort" at the Toronto Cottage Life Show in the spring. This is no resort. It is a barely functioning old hotel under construction. We had to carry our luggage up one staircase as the elevator is broken. Looking at other reviews, it looks like the elevator has been broken for months. There is no restaurant on the property even though there are signs in the hallway pointing towards a non existent restaurant. We sat through a 90 minute timeshare presentation by Vitality Vacations which was part of our purchase deal but who on earth would buy into Vitality Vacations when this run down hotel is called the "Living Stone Golf Resort"? We are gobsmacked. The only reason I gave it a score of 2/5 instead of 1/5 is because the beds are comfortable and the room was cleaned well by the housekeeping staff. Otherwise, don't waste your time and money on this place!

Hello Jim and Carolyn, we were sorry to read of the disappointments during your recent visit with us. Part of the hotel is under construction with most amenties not available, but guests have full access to the amenities at our sister hotel minutes away and where you had your presentation. We do acknowledge the elevator issue which was recified several months ago but issues arose again and we've had the elevator service company on site multiple times to fix the problem with parts required, but with delivery lag times. We sincerely apologize that we did not meet your expectations and how that affected your overall experience and thank you for the feedback.

This was the worst vacation accommodations we have experienced in 30+ years of traveling. They boast of having lots of activities, but they literally have nothing except for an indoor pool and hot tub. No restaurant, no bar, no planned activities, no referral to community activities, yet they charge you a daily activity...for what I ask??? There was a misunderstanding regarding our unit which was advertised as sleeping 2 private/4 maximum leading us to believe there was some sort of partition to allow for 2 people to sleep in private as we were traveling with our 2 adult children. When the hotel called to confirm our arrival, I inquired about this privacy factor and was told that there was a pull out sofa bed and they would provide a rollaway bed in the unit so our sons could sleep comfortably. When we arrived, there was not a sofa bed and there was not a rollaway bed. It was simply a hotel with 2 double beds in close proximity. When we contacted hotel management regarding the false advertisement of the unit and request an upgrade, she was so rude and condescending. Our travel agent also attempted to speak to her on our behalf and was met with the same rudeness and degrading attitude. She made no effort to help us and even said she could easily sell our unit to other people. After much debate, we were finally offered an upgrade to a 1 BR unit for another $500. Then the manager changed her mind and said there were none available. Then she stated we could get another unit for close to $1000. This is nothing but a money-grabbing establishment that literally has nothing to offer for vacationing families. Their customer service is the worst we've ever experienced. Stay away if you value your money and sanity. They are horrible!

As a member of RCI, I always have always stayed at the Living Stone Golf Resort. I joined RCI back when the Living Stone Golf Resort was called Cranberry, so I have seen a lot of changes in the last decade.

I will start with the positives. Beds are very comfortable, suites are clean, heated flooring in the bathroom is a really nice touch.

As for the negatives, I don't know where to begin. I just stayed there last weekend. The elevators are not working. The swimming pool and hot-tub are closed. There is no restaurant on site - which is extremely disappointing. In the past, there was a restaurant called Memories, they used to have excellent food and even live entertainment. This is all gone and has been replaced with a construction site for what I was told is going to be a seniors residence.

I also stayed here last March Break. When I checked in, I was given vouchers that can be used across the street at the Living Waters Resort (which is actually a 15 minute walk down the street and NOT just across the street). The measly $10 vouchers can be used at the Lakeside Grill and also the Spa, again down the street at another resort. There is NO shuttle service provided to take you back and forth. We went for dinner at the Lakeside and we had to walk, in the dark, and in the snow, along the road to get to the Living Water Resort. There is NO SIDEWALK. So be prepared to risk your life as you walk along a busy highway to get over there. The waitress at the restaurant took our voucher and then didn't apply the pathetic $10 discount to our bill. Why bother offering your guests to use facilities at another resort, when you aren't even going to provide a shuttle service to get there.

I could go on, but I think you get the picture. This used to be a family favorite for us, as an RCI member, I am truly shocked at the terrible depths that this once treasured resort has sunken to.

Hello. we were sorry to read of the review during your recent visit with us and certainly understand the disappointmnets and sincerely apologize that we did not meet your expectations as experienced through past vists as an RCI member. Yes, the resort is going through a construction phase and like so many other properties when this occurs, it causes disruption of some services and the closure of some facilities. Since our sister hotel is minutes away by car, guests can use the facilitites and services at that location, but we do understand it can be an incovenience to some guests. Do to the location of the hotel, all guests drive to our location and have their own vehicles to drive between the two hotels. Once again, we do apologize for your disappointments, but long term we will have a refurbished property.

My husband and I chose here to stay for our anniversary trip to collingwood and could not have been more disappointed! When we arrived, the hotel was under construction. We were not told of any construction being done let alone the amount that was happening. The parking lot was all dug up, the front entrance was blocked off with huge construction equipment and the dust and noise was unbearable. We had to go through a side door that was not marked and went to check in down a hallway in a regular hotel room. No restaurants were open and our room was not ready at check in time. We right away asked for a refund and were denied because it was less than 24 hours. We then went to their sister hotel across the street and asked for a room there since our hands were tied with no refund consideration for our 2 night stay. They did give us a room but it was more expensive and we had to pay an up charge even though on their website the price was cheaper. Our room was dirty and clearly not cleaned correctly and a used feminine napkin was found under the bed. The spa was dreadful and the hot tub outside was literally falling apart. We complained and nothing ever came of it. I asked for a refund for at least the upcharge for our room exchange and not even that was not offered. This was back in March 2023 and I’ve called and spoken to multiple people regarding our terrible experience and nothing has come from this. I am baffled at the lack of costumer service and am warning everyone to never book at this resort!

Hello, we were sorry to read of your disappointments on your visit back in March and how that affected your stay. All guests are advised of the construction in the booking confirmation that is emailed to guests so they know in advance of their arrival and most guests are understanding of this. The rooms at our sister hotel are at a higher rate and you made the decision to book a room there, however we do apologize if the cleanliness was not to standard and have forwarded your comments to our housekeeping management team to discuss with their staff and the spa is extremely popular with both guests and local customers and receives many positive comments on the services, however we do apologize that we did not meet your expectations during your stay.

When you sign up for this “promotion” you are staying at Livingston Golf Resort not Living Water resort. Which is the property that that Vitality Vacations want you to invest in. If you are interested in owning and investing in a property that is family oriented and overall crazy busy with kids especially in the pool and the hot tub. The example (showroom) that they show you is above the pool and slide all you smell is chlorine. Not sure why a company who wants you to invest in their property that the rooms at Living Water are not an option. However my stay at Living Stone was to our liking as it was quiet. The rooms are standard and in need of upgrades. They are under construction.
It was said to me during my meeting after the presentation that all guests were members however while waiting in the lobby for a presentation not one person had gone to concierge desk to check in. Which from the information in the presentation that’s where members go.
The aqua spa walk through is unique however wouldn’t do again. Would rather of had a option to do a massage. Dinner was good, at Lakeside Grill Restaurant had a $125 credit. We knew like that gratuities were not included however our waitress made a point of showing and circling it on the bill. Which I felt was rude given that most people no know the standards of when dinning. The pool and hot tub was quiet as you have to book a time to use which is a nice option as it eliminates the possibility of overcrowding and busyness.
We went skiing at Blue Mountain which was the highlight of the getaway.

I question whether Donald Buckle even exists - I tried to call him 3 times while at the resort and twice after I left - I left voice mails every time and the front desk supervisor answered every one. I tried to reach him while on site and the front desk said he was “out”. I never did find an email address!
