Mix of staff, logistical problems (possibly due to covid). Overall had to request things multiple times, felt like we were doing the hotel's work.

When we were here, it was not as relaxed as it should have been. We arrived a half hour early at 2:30 PM, and didn't see front staff, so went to use the restroom, but it was not maintained due to covid. After a few minutes, someone arrived up front, but told us our rooms would not be ready for another hour or so, because of covid staffing issues. My wife inquired as to the possibility of using the internet to check e-mail, but we were told it was impossible without physically checking in. The front staff man was not very helpful and gave off the feeling of being perturbed and hassled by our questions, so we headed to the next door Wendy's to use their wifi instead. Later on, we realized that we could have just connected to the wifi; it didn't make sense why we were put off using it.

Their green towel policy is a little absurd, with towels and linens only replaced every 3 days. Considering Collingwood is both next to multiple beaches and Blue Mountain, it is summer and it is cooking outside, we are actively incentived to stay outdoors due to covid, AND there is a pool, we were out of towels quickly. Every 2 days would make more sense. I try to be relatively green. I used the main towel for an afternoon shower and evening shower after activities, and then resorted to the hand towel the next morning and evening. We requested towels in the morning, put the used ones out in front of our door as instructed, and skipped a morning shower, as we knew we would be sweaty after hiking. After coming back at noon, our key cards had somehow deactivated, and we had to go around to the front. After getting that corrected and going back to our room, we found we had not yet received the towels. Asking a nearby cleaning staff, she told us to ask the front desk, seeming mildly annoyed that people had to use so many towels.

Due to covid, we needed to bundle our own trash and leave it outside. However, we then had to ask for garbage bags later on! You would think that it would just be provided if you used it.

Parking was easy in a large lot. Room itself is nice, with well working fridge, microwave, couch, large armoire. TV is a little small. I appreciate that the default channel is a channel listing. TP is scratchy. It's nice to have soft and hard pillows, but they're a little bit small, and your head can roll off of them easily. The hallway door does not stop noise well, and you can get woken up by people coming in loud at night. The bed sheets were nice, but seem more suited for winter months.

Breakfast: The English Muffin sandwich would have been better toasted, but was good for a morning meal.

Staff seems to be a mix of younger accommodating staff and cranky old timers.

On the positive side, the staff is friendly, the location is convenient for Blue Mountain skiers, and the breakfast selections are good. However, this is an old hotel. The walls are thin, so you can hear quiet conversation from adjoining rooms. You can only touch up paint and caulking for so long before deciding that a complete makeover is needed. This should be a $99/night hotel, but the charge is higher because of the proximity to Blue Mountain.

We chose to stay at this hotel because of its proximity to the Blue Mountains/Georgian Bay and it was affordable. The hotel was fully booked and they have implemented social distancing protocols which were fairly successful, but I will note that the front desk did get overwhelmed at times. For instance, there are only supposed to be 8 people in the pool area, but when reception is busy they can't keep count and we saw guests bringing their own towels which doesn't help. It also can get crowded at the breakfast area, so go early or risk a line-up. The hotel serves bagels, breakfast sandwiches, muffins, yogurt, tea/coffee/juice. I experienced a strange noise issue with another guest and her kids singing and playing music at 3 am. When I called the front desk, that person didn't hesitate to visit the room and tell them to stop which I appreciated. This hotel is old, but most of the common areas are clean and look renovated. Our room was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is also walking distance to a few restaurants.

The staff was not friendly constantly telling us to not be in the common areas where no one could hear us talking and then told to stay in the halls but then got kicked into our room and then still was told we couldn’t be in there. All before midnight.
They should not host hockey teams or anyone who would like to hang out with friends. There were 3 hockey teams staying there at the same time and all the kids were wonderful. The public should be able to stay in the lobby on the couches if not interrupting others as long as they would like. At 11pm we were told we couldn’t stay there.
Just a coach stayed to do some work and was told he couldn’t stay there. He was kicked to his room to wake up his family to do it in there.
Not impressed with how we were treated.

Where do I start? First of all, we travelled enough during pandemic and stayed in a variety of places to realize that a business can follow all the rules and regulations and still be welcoming and nice to its customers.
This place definitely takes the cake in the misery department. It’s like they want their guests to feel as miserable as possible while taking their money.
We came to check in after a long drive, there were quite a few people checking in, one very slow older lady at the desk who seemed completely overwhelmed with her job. It was cold and rainy outside, when she announced that “only 5 people are allowed in the lobby, the rest need to get out”. So instead of being crowded in the lobby, people crowded between the sliding doors (make sense?), and the line was all the was out to the parking lot. After standing in line for more than 40 minutes, she told us our room was not ready and she can’t check us in for another 15 minutes. We said we’ll go out and call us when it’s ready. It was around 2:30. They called at 6pm. If you go as a group, prepared to be constantly harassed about gathering, all the lobby furniture that you see on the pictures is pulled away and not to be used. The breakfast is disgusting and you have to take the tray to your room. When we left on the first day, I asked the room to be cleaned, she said she’ll call and tell them. The room was not cleaned when we came back.
I don’t think this place understands that they are “hospitality” business. 👎👎👎👎

The good: The staff are great. Wonderful people doing a great job to look after their guests. They are the best part about the hotel. The breakfast is great and quickly restocked. Very friendly service staff. The hotel generally presents nicely and the rooms seem generally clean and tidy. Right beside a Wendy's, movie theatre, grocery store, and dollar store.

The bad: There is a long term resident in 117 with a very bad smelling service animal. They keep their door ajar and the smell permeates the entire hallway. If you don't love wet dog smell, or are allergic to dogs, or don't love hearing a television through the hallway, reconsider staying here. There was also a bike in the hallway that fell over several times, blocking the hallway, bit I'm not sure if it's the long term residents (and therefore a regular problem) or not. the pool is permanently closed due to leaks.

The ugly: there are mildew stains around tub, and dust had clogged the bathroom vents. The sofa bed mattress was old and sagged.

The service animal problem and pool closure are deal breakers, in my opinion. If you don't care about the pool and can get a second floor room, neither of those should stop you. Otherwise, be aware of those issues.

This hotel is 10 minute drive from the blue Mountain ski hills and within walking distance to several ethnic and fast food restaurants, a supermarket, and other major department stores. Although Covid restrictions prevented the breakfast room from being open, hot food was still available to take back to the room and included eggs, sausage or bacon, hashbrowns, yogurt, fruit, coffee, cereals and a variety of breads. Nice to have a mini fridge and microwave in the room as well.
Although our room faced a major town intersection, we were not bothered by any street noise (we did leave the fan on to provide some white noise). There is no tub, only a shower, in the bathroom, but plenty of hot water.
Overall, this hotel provided basic comfortable accommodation at a very reasonable price

We booked by telephone for a 1 night stay for a family event. The staff member during that phone call was very helpful and courteous. The room was newly decorated, very clean, and the carpets replaced with laminate flooring - so much cleaner and easily kept clean - thank you for the new room design! Bedding was all new, draperies new, bathroom up to date and very clean.
The comp breakfast was good, no complaints from us at all.
The staff were attentive and extremely nice to talk to.
Thank you to the management for making our stay the best it could be! We will definitely return in the future.

Thé breakfast can hardly be called food. Fake eggs fake fried potato bits sugar in everything. Only sweetened yogurt sugary cereals lousy coffee … however there was a real orange! Cmon Comfort hotels. It’s 2023! Time to serve real food! You can do much much better! This is cheap and unhealthy!

From memory 7:00 to 9:30 Monday to Friday and 7:00 to 10:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Breakfast is basic but well worth going down for. Juices, yogurt, cereal, waffles made by yourself, scrambled egg and sausage patties, toast and bagels, plus a plentiful supply of good coffee. The cutlery is plastic, so take a knife and fork if that offends.

It's a server-yourself setup with scrambled eggs, sausage patties, etc. kept warm, make-your-own toast, yoghurt, coffee. You can certainly fill up, but you won't rave about the taste of it. Hope this helps.
