Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We called ahead and booked 3 days at this park and hoped for a pleasant time.
Upon arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Our site was across from the waterfront and still gave us excellent views of the Rideau and passing boats.
The site was not level, but that was not a problem, 30 amp power and water hook up.
The free wifi was also good.
We did not many of the waterfront sites were flooded after the rain.
We were on site 47 and could hear the road traffic crossing the swing bridge.
We had a very enjoyable time and will definitely return.

Stayed here with girlfriends having a weekend away with no kids or hubbies.... Very friendly staff however we were told we could have a self contained small fire so we bought a fire pit and when putting it together were told absolutely no fires :(. View of the canal beautiful, but sites very close to one another! Very loud do to swing bridge and traffic but that didn’t bother us to much.... location was definitely a plus for us so nice to walk to everything in smith falls...
Would we return probably not, not really a campground more of just a strip of land a long the canal....

Having stayed at several places who charged 50 $ and up, this was definitely the one that had the least to offer for that price. The bathrooms are in dire need of rejuvenation. We only give it three stars because the people who work there were really nice and accommodating (otherwise it would have been 2 stars). We stayed two nights because everything else was closed due to flooding. But not going to stay there again.

Several of the sites are beside a busy road with a METAL bridge, so be prepared to listen to traffic and "cling, cling" every few seconds as the cars drive over the bridge (sites 24-27 and 38-40 in particular - they are at the end of the cul de sac where this noisy bridge is located). All of the sites are very close to one another. There's nowhere here to swim, if that's important. If you have small children, there are far better family-oriented campgrounds with lots of amenities. On a positive note, the service was good, and the canal and surrounding park is lovely.
