Detailed Reviews
If your travels take you to Smith Falls, you must consider this spot for your overnight stay. Beautiful home, gorgeous property, wonderful breakfast, clean, spacious and comfortable rooms and properly priced. Right on the Rideau River, only five minute to downtown Smith Falls, and a bright, cheerful hostess made this a superb find. Highly recommended and we would stay there again. Only caveats: rooms are upstairs and the bathroom is large, but shared. These posed no problems at all for us.

An autumn weekend. Leaves are turning. (Pool closed for the season). The kind of weekend you want somewhere cozy to hang out and relax. We were served tea and snacks upon arrival.
The home was spacious, the hostess gracious.
Food stupendous and plentiful.
Very helpful with local recommendations to meet what we wanted to do.
Fresh tea to go kayaking in the morning - a short portage to go down river and the locks to go up to Smiths Falls. All meals had in the area were delicious and the restaurants came highly recommended.
Easy distance from bike trails (by car), and close to Merrickville shops and restaurants.
We enjoyed a late night camp fire at the BnB, after dinner at Rideau Ferry. Brought our own guitar and voices - which demonstrates how relaxed and comfortable this location is!

The B&B was very comfortable. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The view of the Rideau was beautiful, especially at sunset. There is a pool available to the guests and the patio is pleasant for sitting back with a good book. The host is very lovely and makes some fantastic breakfasts. She is also very helpful in recommending places to eat in Smith Falls.

I needed a room for a recent conference all the local hotels were booked. I contacted Katmors and there was a room available. What an amazing spot! Right on the water, beautiful sunrise. My room was clean tidy with all the amenities, breakfast was delicious, but honestly the best part of the stay was the hospitality, it was out of this world. The host went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. I highly recommend Katmors BnB- I promise you will not be disappointed.

It was a great bed and breakfast.
It was clean and spacious. The rooms had double beds in them. It is a 4 bedroom home - 3 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom in the basement.
The breakfast was healthy and filling.
They have a inground salt water pool that is kept very clean.
The grounds are immaculately kept.
They rent canoes and kayaks.
The host is very pleasant and friendly.
You are given keys for your bedrooms.
The home owner supplies towels, robes and even a hair dryer.
Well worth the drive to Smith Falls.
Merrickville is only a 20 to 25 minute drive away. Great restaurant in Merrickville.

When visiting Smith Falls and the Ottawa area, this is an excellent choice to stay. With easy access to Ottawa, why stay in a busy city? Kathleen made our stay exceptional. Very accommodating, great breakfasts and the rooms are 5 star. We had the east room, with a great view of the Rideau canal and a great morning sunrise. Don't forget your swim suit, the backyard pool is wonderful.

We had a 2nd stay-over at Katmor's Bed and Breakfast, this time for a 2-night stay in mid-May 2017 as part of our visit to the Ottawa tulip festival. As before, the friendliness of our host, the luxury of the rooms and the house, the tranquility on the Rideau waterfront and delicious breakfasts stood out for us. This is a lovely place that for me ranks right at the top.

We were visiting the area for a fishing tournament with my husband and another couple. Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. The grounds are immaculate, the pool inviting and the view is so very tranquil. Kathleen was the PERFECT host and her breakfasts were DELICIOUS!

+1
It was my husband's first visit but my second as I had already been with a girlfriend in 2014. We had booked a horse riding lesson in the area and thought we'd stay overnight and enjoy the area at the same time. It was too cold to use the lovely pool and enjoy the scenery in a kayak or canoe so we'll keep that for next time. The hostess Kathleen is very attentive and a fountain of information about the surrounding area and activities. It's a perfect place for a family to stay in for a wedding or other activity in the area. She has 3 lovely rooms and large living area for the guests, living room with huge fireplace, and comfy furniture as well as another room for relaxing next to the dining room. We stayed in the Rideau room overlooking the amazing waterfront and sunrises. Breakfast was delicious, yogurt with granola and lots of fruit, delicious orange juice and tea, eggs and extras how you like them. Interesting locks, waterway and 3 museums. They even have outdoor movies in the park on Thursday nights for everyone to enjoy. Oh yes and golf clubs. Close to Merrickville and Wesport also worth seeing. I highly recommend a stay here, we plan to return and enjoy the facilities as the weather warms up.
