This place is a dump! Stayed for the month and although fairly quiet, it's unsafe..windows at ground level and open easily from the outside. No laundry service for bedding unless you want to pay an extra $60 a week which will give maid service 30 minutes in your room. Management and Owners are rude and don't care if you stay...

The akai motel is by far the slum hole of Canmore! And not to mention the owner "Albert" is rude and unaccomidating. Did not clean my room at all in 4 months of bein therefor work. Attempted to charge extra each month if you have a "extra guest". I paid For the room not for a single bed. If that...

There were bugs crawling on the floor and two large flies in the room when we checked in. The grout in the shower had black mold all over it and there was some sort of weird green permanent crust around the base of the plug up to the tap. The tap in the sink leaked ALL night. Half of the...

Not fit for human habitation + Worst service ever = The Akai. This place would get a no star rating if this system allowed that. My expectations were low to begin with, but it's mind blowing a place this filthy can be allowed to remain in business. I took a room at the Akai in August 2010 only because there...

In March 2010. I had to stay in the crack house called The Akai. I have to say this motel is the most repulsive place I had stayed in. When we checked in there was an Asian Guy at the front desk, " if you want to call it that" that was drunk. You can smell the booze off his...

I stayed in this little place in Canmore, Alberta not too long ago as my 3 friends and I traveled through the Banff area and I must say there was no better value in the Rockies. I don't think this place is the best motel/hotel in the world but as we were very conscious of the limited spending budget this...

We had a hard time finding a clean motel at a decent price in Banff, so we decided to try the next town, Canmore, At travel info centre, we were told about Akai Motel and when I called to find out about the price, I was almost shocked by their good price. I was unsure about the place so we...

We stayed at the Akai prior to running the Melissa's Road Race in Banff in September 2008. This is hands down the most awful place I have ever stayed in and I really hope I never stay at a place as bad as this again. The "motel rooms" were essentially a bunch of ATCO trailers hammered together to resemble a...
