We were heading to Jasper, but needed a pick-me-up, and spotted the Athabasca Valley Inn & Suites. It was very off season, and a number of places nearby didn't seem to be open, so we're glad the Athabasca was open. The coffee was good, and the cake hit the spot. The decor is nice, and everything was nice and clean....

On arrival check in staff seemed really put out they had to do some work and check us in. We were given a room at the back on the ground floor and although there was parking close by we were advised to park at the front and walk through, due to security. We went to room and then out to...

Stopped at the Athabasca Inn Restaurant for lunch . The food was excellent and the service was great. Lots of parking and the restaurant is very clean and bright. No loud music and very comfortable. Excellent lunch.

Microwave and fridge Liked the fact there was a grocery store nearby ..bit away from the main highway..not well sign posted coming from Jasper..wouldnt have found it without GPS

Black mold in the bathroom and the music from the run down bar will keep you awake all night. Bedding looks like its been there for 50 years. Cheap but not worth the money. Food at the restaurant was ok but service wasn't great and the staff at check in not very friendly.

This hotel needs a serious make over the bedding looks to be about 50 years old, the carpets were badly stained and the place stunk of old cigarettes. Not to mention my husband and I both got sick after eating in the restaurant. I would not recommend staying here.

The rooms were nicely renovated and comfortable. Great value, very clean and comfortable. I didn't realize this was a historical building. There are beautiful pictures framed of the surrounding area all over the hotel. The resteraunt was very nice and had excellent food, I will recommend this place to everyone :)

This is a difficult hotel to rate. It is situated in Old Drinnan Town, a few kilometres from the main state highway and not particularly easy to find. The hotel is rather dated in appearance and situated in a not particularly inspiring shopping centre. There is no dedicated hotel carparking. There was a lot of dirt on the stairs leading...

Rooms were clean. Property was pet friendly. Staff was friendly, efficient, knowledgable, and good looking just for good measure. (Not really a selling feature, but it didn't hurt!) Bed was comfortable, and everything was well maintained and functioned correctly. The breakfast in the Restaurant was also quite a pleasure. But the value for the money is what stood out the...

“If arriving in Hinton from the direction of Jasper I would recommend taking the Switzer Drive exit at the east end of town (there are two) and beyond the built up area along the highway.”
