Detailed Reviews
Though I didn't stay in the hotel on the last visit to the River rock casino, I did take in some fun on the casino floor playing the slots. As normal the staff at the door are very courteous and they are very educated in regards their position of security. the new I.D at the entrance is good added security. I have never won a huge jackpot here unless one can consider $4500.00 a huge sum of money. To most serious gamblers I'd guess its money spent trying to get a huge jackpot but for me that is by far the largest jackpot I have hit on a slot machine. I am very unlucky at any casino I've gone to and hence don't go much anymore, as losing on a consistent basis isn't what I would call "fun". But that aside the River Rock has many slots to play with a few high roller rooms at either end and plenty of tables if that's your poison. I play roulette and occasionally blackjack and have done ok on those two games but not very often as I do enjoy playing the slots. They have the greatest staff very helpful and coffee cart is always making the rounds as well wait staff if you care for alcoholic beverages or pop. they are only operating one cashier booth with about 4 to 6 wickets open for cashing out chips, breaking bills, or exchanging vouchers for cash, though you can also use one of the many satellite money dispensers located thru out the casino to cash vouchers as well. The food court has three restaurants open that are more like fast food or they have an amazing buffet located on the second floor in the main lobby. As for location they are in a perfect spot to access from the skytrain into Richmond (Canada Line), as it stops just merely 100m from the Hotel and can be accessed thru the over street walkway or thru the parkade and stairs with easy to follow signage, and is easily access as well for handicap persons with ramps and the valet people can probably help if needed. Overall the River Rock has a little for everyone whether you want a night of gambling, staying in the hotel or relaxing by the pool, this place has it all. Unwind, relax, enjoy!

Nice hotel, very pretty, and great location beside the sky train, but very confusing to get around the hotel itself. Dining options were hard to find, and we found it odd ID was required to access ‘food court’ options, which were in the middle of the casino. The pool was lovely, but also initially hard to find, and would be difficult to access for those who have mobility issues. Also, while the ‘power card’ is innovative within the rooms, it doesn’t make sense for the room mini fridges, which turn off when the power card is removed (ie when the occupants leave), causing food to spoil. Our server in the lounge was exceptional - Allen I believe - engaging, great memory, and very attentive. It was also an excellent location for the purpose of our visit, a work trade show, held in the theatre.

Nice King size room across the street from the Resort and Casino. Wish I was told when I called that the King suite in the Resort was just a few dollars more. Parking is free in the parkade but if your truck is taller than 6’7” you have to pay $20 to park in the outside lot. Also they have a policy that asks you don’t bring in food or beverages to your room and order off the room service menu. I’ve never heard of this before but ok. Great location with the Bridgeport skytrain right there.

I rented a room at the river rock and thought it will a nice fun time but this hotel has a ton of add on/hidden fees including a 2% charge for using MasterCard or Visa any where in the hotel and casino , but also was not listed on the 3rd party travel booking site this is their horrible policy
Other problems
1) if you don’t get to the lobby front desk beside the casino to check in asap you will be stuck in massive lines with only 3 people working at the north tower while south tower had 1 lady answering phones and checking people in and saw some people were in line for 40 minutes
2) pool never has any towels left even though you are paying $20+ on a resort fee which includes towels at the pool
3) every time you go into the casino you have to show them your driver’s license to get scanned and is bloody annoying specially since this is the casino that you could bring duffle bags of cash and no questions asked
4) it’s also weird that even though I was staying at the south tower I could not park in the south tower unless I wanted to pay and I have mobility issues and can’t walk ling distances so having to walk to west parking lot was not fun and not helping people with disabilities

We will not be returning to the River Rock primarily because the hotel room is not a good value and services such as dining options are quite limited. In addition, the buffet was quite a disappointment. It is very expensive at 50 CAD per person for dinner. The food quality is average at best. It's a huge disappointment if you visited the buffet pre-pandemic.
Cons: VERY expensive for the overall product, outdated room, somewhat dark, room needs blinds or appropriate room darkening shades (curtains don't block out light sufficiently), old shower head.
Pros: comfortable mattresses, quiet room (on 10th floor), decent shower pressure, convenient location, PT nearby, pleasant and helpful maintenance staff (Lito was VERY nice). Roselle(?) at the front desk was also helpful.

This was the absolute worst experience in a hotel and casino I have ever had. It was disgusting how I was treated, I would never recommend the River Rock to anyone.
My spouse and I got a babysitter and decided to have a night out. We both work a lot of hours and have stressful jobs. We drove 1.5 hours to get here and when we arrived the night asking situation was atrocious. We then got to our room and you could tell it had been cleaned weeks prior and never refreshed. Dusty/streaky mirrors, dust on all the surfaces and just a stagnant smell in the room. We brushed it off and decided “ We didn’t come here to complain about the room, let’s go have fun.” We got down to the casino and played for about a hour and a half. In that time I had two drinks and didn’t finish either. My spouse smokes and had gone outside and I had decided I wanted to order food. I went on skip and decided pizza, went outside to ask my spouse what he wanted and when I went to go back into the casino was still on my phone. The “security guard “ ask me to look up and I did and then asked me to step to the side which I did. Another man came over and said “Your eyes are red and you’re too intoxicated to come in” I looked at him and said pardon me? I have had two drinks and I am aware my eyes are red- I have been up working on my computer since 5:00 am. He then said I don’t care your not coming in. My spouse then got upset, and we tried talking to security, and explain we are staying here and I have literally had two drinks, the one man said go deal with hotel management. Speaking with hotel management was a 3 ring circus in its self. The management had zero idea how to speak with people, zero customer service skills and was just rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. He then called security because my spouse wanted to tape the conversation because he was literally that rude. The security guard who had originally told me I was too drunk to be in the casino came back and said “ Hey Karen, no one cares you can leave” my name isn’t Karen he was trying to be rude to me.
All I can say is steer clear. This establishment has poor leadership, poor management and absolutely no idea how to treat customers. If you are wanting to spend 500.00 on an executive suite for the night that’s musty, dusty and outdated then get disrespected and called names maybe this is the place for you.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We tried to check in and only had a debit card on me which is pretty normal for USA. Drove here for Taylor swift. Debit cards hold $500 CAD which I understand incidental hold I’m a GM with Hilton. We checked out on Monday and the lady told me at check in that the authorization would fall off which is normal. But the authorization never fell off and became an original charge even though we prepaid the reservation before hand. I called them and they said we should have came to the front desk to put in my debit card in the machine and get the incidental back to my card. They never told me this at check in. So if I wouldn’t have called this wouldn’t have been fixed? Why would an authorization for incidentals turn into an official charge? This is bad business and will not stay again.

We stayed here for a night on the way home at the end of a vacation. We arrived at YVR fairly late in the evening, but it was a quick and easy trip from the airport to the hotel on the sky train. The sky train / bus exchange is right beside the hotel. Our check in was handled efficiently and our room was clean and comfortable. There was some noise from other guests in the hall which kept us awake for a bit, but things got quiet by midnight and we had a good sleep. For our morning coffee, it was convenient to have Starbucks right off the lobby. We also had a good breakfast at one of the restaurants (Curve) in the hotel. After breakfast we hopped on the transit bus right by the hotel to get out to the ferry terminal to catch our ferry back to Victoria. This hotel is in a perfect location for those needing a place with easy transit access to the airport and/ or ferry. Rooms are nice, and it is handy to have a Starbucks and a good restaurant on the property.

Recently stayed here, having stayed before few months ago.
This time around I got a newly refurbished room which was lovely.
There seems to be an issue with the water in that room: The water pressure in the shower was all over the place, one moment it would be weak and next it would blast out. In addition, the room didn't have cold water in the sink, only scolding hot.
My only concern as a solo guest, was being placed at the end of a hall in a building away from reception. Being an experienced traveler, solo travelers should not be placed far away from other people, for security should anything happen.
My room was facing the train tracks, therefore I didn't get much of sleep and someone was knocking on peoples doors around 5.00am which left me a little unsettled.

The hotel room (standard king) was fine considering we had a special players rate.
Look for this it is a great price.
Bedding is a little underwhelming but the hotel happily and promptly brought us a blanket and more coffee pods. An A for housekeeping staff.
Good quality bathroom products.
Lots of good towels
Please hotels put a vanity mirror in the main room so that we can put on make up etc when partner is in bathroom, a lack in most hotels!!
Tip: leave a small tip for housekeeping staff per night, it is hugely appreciated and these aren't highly paid people.
Front staff very good and had helpful hints for future stays at the hotel.
Wonderful access to other areas of the Greater Vancouver area with the train right there.
Tip: This is a good option for the night before or after a flight or ferry trip.
Not a lot of food options but I think more are coming.
Onto the casino.
Well laid out, lots of slot games.
However it will never supplant Vegas for us as there are only a few old, poorly maintained video poker machines. We were told that it was because very few people played them. Perhaps that is because of the awful machines????
Its more likely that the return on bet is much lower on slot machines.
The table games look like people are having great fun.
The "no spitting" signs on the garbage bins were gross and shocked that such a thing is necessary.
