The Abercorn Hotel, a Trademark Collection by Wyndham, is lauded for its prime location near the airport and conveniences like Costco, despite the bustling surroundings. Guests value the clean accommodations and the complimentary airport shuttle, although some have observed a decline in breakfast offerings and cleanliness inconsistencies. While the modern bathrooms and cozy beds meet approval, the overall atmosphere and decor are seen as areas needing enhancement. Opinions on value and service are mixed, with some dissatisfaction over breakfast costs and room rates, alongside varied experiences with staff and shuttle reliability.

Pretty old school but gets the job done. Costco is across the street, 24 24-hour convenience store is around the corner (7-11 w/ gas station) Parling is free, wifi a bit slow but works, and morning continental breakfast is simple but enough to fill you up. Rooms are fine w/ everything one would need. Of note is that housekeeping appears to be on request only, and there is a popular Chinese restaurant on the ground floor so finding available parking can be difficult on weekends. The room was facing the street but noise wasn't an issue.

I rented two rooms as we had our children and other family members with us so 7 in total. I had booked our rooms directly on Abercorn Hotel website and found a very wonderful price especially for having a continental breakfast included. Check in was a breeze, front desk person was very friendly and efficient. I took half of my family to their room and our children were pleasantly surprised with how much they liked it and was clean. I then went to my room and there was a slightly musty smell like the carpet had been wet so I opened the window which offered a good breeze and being on the second floor I was glad so I was able to leave it open while I went out for a bit which did help alleviate the odor. A/C and heat worked great, not noisy with a flow of air which was great. Our first breakfast we went down for early as I was concerned it would be gone if we went any later than 7am. To my pleasant surprise everything was fresh and plentiful with a wonderful variety of food to select from everything from yogurt cups, juice boxes, warm croissants, warm muffins, ample supply of ham, sausage, eggs, premade Belgium waffles, french toaast, syrup and few kinds of bread for toasting, jam, pb, butter, coffee, tea. By our second day the odor I had mentioned had dissipated enough that I no longer noticed it. I have chronic pain and it was the first time that I slept in a hotel bed that did not make me wake up stiff and in excruciating pain, but the pillows are not full enough but was comfortable enough to sleep with. Our second (last) breakfast we chose to sleep in that morning and came down to eat at 9am and although more busy than the morning before the food was still quite well stocked and warm/hot. We are already planning our next trip for the fall and will be staying here again. The price is great, although it does not have a pool it does have a fitness area and the restaurant downstairs Happy Hong Kong has delicious food which we anticipate returning for as well.

Friendly and helpful reception.
Nice large room with large bed, bathroom with shower, table, armchair, fridge and electric kettle.
Quiet area.
The hotel is a bit worn but short distance to the airport, there are free shuttle buses.
It is incl. breakfast which is a bag of bread and fruit, this can be exchanged for a fee for breakfast buffet.
Can recommend this hotel.

We unfortunately stayed at the Abercorn Hotel near the Vancouver Airport one night, because they tout a full buffet breakfast and hotel shuttle at the time we made our reservation in January 2024. The hotel is in need of a refresh in furnishings as well as staff and management. I am shocked a named hotel chain like Wyndham would lend their name to such a place.
They did not offer the free buffet breakfast and wanted us to pay an additional 15.99 for their breakfast that was included when we booked the hotel. The management had decided on May 1, 2024 they would not offer it anymore. We tried to explain we had booked the hotel in January, they did not care.
I have since reached out to Wyndham Hotels and they do not have any customer care appreciation either. They said the hotels are individually owned, make their own decisions, etc. I asked why they put their name on such a false advertising, bait and switch, run down, non caring customer service hotel. She said thank you for your feedback, goodbye.
I would encourage anyone looking for a hotel close to the airport to go across the street to the Holiday Inn. Do not stay at this hotel.

Room was old and very tired . Hotel was overpriced and the included breakfast changed on the 30/04/ 2024 from a full hot buffet breakfast to a cold breakfast pack . Many customers complained it was not what they paid for .
Management were unhelpful and a better room and a full breakfast was available at the Holiday Inn ( just across the road) Price gouging at its worse

The price I paid in a, clearly neglected place. to stay one night was extremely unacceptable. The standard of their housekeeping/cleanliness is appalling.

For health and safety reasons, this place needs to be closed down for some serious months of deep cleaning.

Not only was there tons of clear and visible stachybotrys chartarum (black mold) all over the bathroom there was also clear and visible serratia marscens bacteria. (pink mold)

Both of these molds/bacterias are the reason why restaurants and hotels get closed down, especially if just the pink mold, on its own, isfound in a food truck or in restaurant. Why this hotel is still open and running? I have no idea.

I did take photos of some of the mold/bacteria. There was so much dust and hair everywhere in the room itself, that when I picked up the phone to tell the front desk about it, I was totally disgusted by the thick layer of dust that was on the telephone itself.

I suggested that cleaning with Zep in the bathrooms would get rid of all of the mold in the washrooms with some other simple pro cleaning tips, while also letting them know politely that these conditions are not acceptable.

I also asked for cleaning products so that I may clean it myself, however, they just moved me 3 doors down where the mold and bacteria in the bathroom was even worse and the dust in the main room was just as bad.

I eventually ended up cleaning it with the products I found on the housekeeping cart.

The washroom in the lobby was even worse.

I ended up leaving before the sun came up. Totally disappointed.

The only good thing I can say;

We were able to check in earlier than planned.

The night clerk gentleman was extremely nice.

I paid $368 to stay in the most disgusting room ever.

Furthermore, there's no smoking but all I could smell was cigarette smoke, at night.

I usually don't leave bad reviews, however, this review needs to be posted for everybody's health and safety.

My family and I stayed at this hotel last summer to wrap up what had been a lovely vacation, but it completely ruined our experience. The front desk staff were inattentive and unprofessional, more focused on their phones than on helping guests. The room we got was nothing like what was advertised; it was old, worn, and downright filthy. The bathroom had mold, the sheets and blankets were ragged, and the carpet was so threadbare that the floor creaked beneath our feet. The hallway as dark and gloomy. The ice machine look so questionable that I did not use it.

To top it all off, the so-called "free" buffet breakfast that was advertised ended up costing us about $10 per person. McDonald would have been better. Much better. I felt awful for putting my family in such a dismal place; it felt more like a rundown motel than a Wyndham hotel. I even itched for two weeks after we left—seriously. I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone; it ruined our vacation. Do yourself a favor and save your money and memories—stay far away from this place!

I don’t understand the bad reviews for this hotel. I’m a world traveler and I found nothing wrong with this hotel. My room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and professional. The location is a very busy traffic area and noise was not a problem and no different than any metropolitan area. This hotel offers an airport shuttle service that is rare in this area. Reviews have complained about the high price. It is at market value for this property location. I did my research of properties in the airport zone and for the product it’s in line. Yes this property is dated. It has a lot of charm. My room 251 furniture shows no damage. This room did have a jetted tub with shower. It may be difficult to get in and out for some people. I’m in my 60’s and I had to be extra careful. I think this room was an unintentional upgrade. Younger guests may like it more. I would stay here again .

If I wasn’t so exhausted I would have requested that we be moved. The room was not clean at all! Sticky rings on the table and night stand from drink glosses, it looked as though they just do a quick once over in the bathroom between guests.
I told the gentleman at the desk the next morning, he asked which room but didn’t even apologize for the state of it…I would not recommend

This hotel was an Express Deal on Priceline, and it was chosen for me as a 2.5 star airport hotel. When I read some of the one-star reviews, I was nervous.

What a pleasant surprise it was that this hotel exceeded all my expectations.

The hotel is a lovely Tudor-style building with character. Check in was smooth and I pre-booked an airport shuttle for the following morning.

My room was large with a very comfy king-size bed. The bathroom had recently been refurbished with a rain shower faucet. Toiletries were good quality, with an in-suite coffee maker and the entire room was clean. As it was a warm evening, I turned on the AC, which cooled the room down within minutes.

Within the hotel is a very busy and excellent Chinese restaurant. I had a wonderful bowl of wonton soup and my dinner was under $20.
The included continental breakfast was adequate — yogurt, cereal, muffins, toast, coffee and juice. Friendly service and well-staffed.

My shuttle arrived right on time, and the front desk even called me 5 minutes in advance with a reminder.
What a delight this hotel is. I can’t for the life of me understand the poor ratings.

We were not charged for parking but we only parked there for a couple days. Their website says "charges may apply" so you need to call them to find out what the cost is for month-long parking: +1 604-270-7576.
Answer from Terry S

There is a phone in the shuttle waiting area and Abercorn is the first # on the shuttle list. The shuttle generally runs every half hour on the 15 minute mark but if you feel you have been waiting long, you can make the free call from that phone. If you are arriving late at night, I would suggest you let the hotel know and use the shuttle phone to call them as soon as you get to the waiting area. For your return to the airport, just let the front desk know what time you would like to take the shuttle back. Yes,they will hold your room for a late night arrival and I believe all rooms are non smoking. I just happen to be staying here right mow. I like this hotel. The included breakfast is good, the hotel is not cookie cutter and I usually have a bath tub in my restroom which is very nice for a good soak after 12 hours of flying.

Yes, there was a bathtub in our room. Not sure I would describe it as deep soaking, however it had fairly high sides because the bottom of the tub was higher than the floor. Makes it a bit dicey getting in and out for older guests.
