We stayed for 2 nights here, breaking our journey home from Scotland. We were warmly welcomed and our room was well equipped and comfortable. The evening meals were good as were the breakfasts. Lovely village setting, near to Ullswater. Good value and would stay again.

We had a one night stay on our way up to Scotland and found the inn to be welcoming in a very beautiful setting. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed both our evening meal and an excellent breakfast. Good choice of real ales also. We would definitely return.

The food was great, delicious and good value. Great atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. We liked it so much we ate here both nights on our weekend away. It gets quite busy so I would recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment. Well worth a visit if your in the area.

I chose this pub as it was near to where I was working in Penrith. What a great little find it was. I was given a lovely double room with a spacious bathroom and everything was spotlessly clean. I had a delicious meal in the bar and breakfast the following morning was great too (pre order the night before). All...

Very welcoming staff, clean and reasonably priced. The quaint village location suited us nicely and breakfast included set us up for the day. We were on motorbike but tourist areas are within easy drive. There is a heated outdoor swimming pool in village, not open yet but would be lovely in full summer.

Was in Askham for a wedding at Askham Hall across the road. It was very convenient for this venue and about half the price! We stopped in the static caravan at the back of the pub and found it to be very comfortable with plenty of room, great TV too. We ate at the pub and loved the food. We...

The food is very good with a wide selection of simple to sophisticated fare. The wine list is good and not over the top price wise.A good selection of...

Very nice place to stop over, can easily spend the evening there. Food was excellent and the service was quick and cheeky at times but all in line. One thing to note was that previous people before us managed to leave their dinner on the floor including a piece of chicken, this went un noticed by the staff but fortunately...

We have just got back from a stay in the lakes and decided to go here for dinner on the Saturday after a recommendation for the people we stayed with. I booked a table before we left and was very glad we did as it is a popular place. The food was lovely and my partner even said it was...
