We used this Pub as a stop over and glad we did. The staff were so friendly and helpful we felt as if we were in our own local. The kitchen closed at 6pm on a Saturday but we were directed to their sister pub down the road for evening meal. The Queens Head is in a beautiful location with...

We had a fantastic evening at the Queens Head. Although the menu wasn't extensive it offered everything we wanted. We went on a Thursday and had the steak and wine deal which was excellent value. The staff (Mariana) were incredibly friendly and made our children very welcome. It was a shame we only found this pub on our last night...

We booked into the Queens at short notice for a lakeland getaway for 2 nights. It is halfway between Haweswater and Ullswater so a fantastic base for exploring the area. The pub has recently changed hands and the landlord Steve is doing a great job of looking after this lovely old building. Though I'm not normally a big fan of...

Dropped in here for a proper meal before arriving yesterday at Kendall Calling after a long drive from Nottingham. Place is recently done up according to Pete the landlord, looks great. Been to the Lakes before and can be v.pricey in these quirky country pubs, but was nice to see specials under a tenner. We had Goan Curry and a...

Stopped here with my Husband on the spur of the moment. The pub and rooms have recently been done up and the place looks really quirky. We had a lovely meal of local cumberland sausage and tried the local ales and lake district Gin. Will definitely be back

I was expecting the pub to be on top form after receiving flyers through the letter box...only to be disappointed. There were only 3 main courses to choose from and only 2 desserts. I find if there is a limited menu, the dishes are good quality, however, my friends steak and chips looked very greasy and my curry was very...

Called for a drink and decided to have a meal - what a disappointment. Struggled to find a bottle of beer I liked ended up with a pint of Fosters which was reasonable. Ordered fish and chips - disappointed how small it was - more like a child's portion - left the pub still hungry. Also ordered steak and ale...
