We have a static caravan at Pooley Bridge and always come to the Queens Head Inn when we stay there. The pies are fantastic. We go for dinner at least once pe visit and I generally have the Bowscale which is chicken and mushroom in a tarragon sauce. My husband tends to go through the pie menu though one of...

We stayed here on the way to Scotland for one night. It's a charming pub in a small village. Was easy to find, good parking. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small, but well decorated and comfortable. Was also very clean. We ate our evening meal in the pub, which we'd also recommend. Again, the staff were...

Have eaten here a couple of times now during our stay in the area. Friendly and courteous service, and good food both times. We ate in the bar area, but there is also a restaurant section. Varied menu which should cater for most tastes. Also get there between 5 and 6pm for an early bird menu!

Would of stayed for lunch as menu looked amazing but too full from breakfast.... Nothing too much trouble staff sorted us a taxi for our travel to knipe Hall and back... Rooms clean and tidy...

Called in for a meal. Service good. Portions a bit on the small side. Very average but plenty of custard with dessert.nothing to write home about. Thought about having pie but there were mushrooms in nearly all of them - chose something else.

Stayed 1 night, room was a decent size, but the shower could do with an upgrade. The food in the restaurant was excellent and there was a good selection of beers. Breakfast was also very good. Food stated it was all locally sourced which was a nice touch. Plenty of parking.

I'm full of sadness after coming home from the most relaxing and peaceful week staying at the Queens Head. Jim and Margaret are the most perfect hosts. The pub has ambience and charm, and yet is so relaxing. Over the week I've seen it ebb and flow in terms of how busy it is, but nothing fazes them or the...

Charming county inn in a peaceful rural setting, well placed for the motorway and also Pooley Bridge, where boat trips on Ullswater are available. It was clean, friendly and with excellent food. When my wife asked what the 'pie of the day' was she was directed to the back page of the menu which had ten different locally made pies....
