We enjoyed a lovely one night stay at Voco in December 2023. The location is very convenient and walkable around the main downtown, to the sky tower, Queen street, etc. I booked a standard room and we had a great view of the sky tower from it. The room is large. Very quiet. We stored our luggage during the day before an evening flight. We had drinks at the Bar Albert on the top level. Nice views. Good for a stay in Auckland.

Property's Favourite Review
We arrived at 2pm but was told check in time was at 3 pm- Voco Auckland IHG website said check in was at 2pm. Maybe best for the website to change the check in time so as to not confuse their guests. They gladly stored our bags and we went back at 3pm. The room is not too big (25sqm)but the design and the view made up for the smaller size. The view of the Sky Tower and the harbor is amazing. Especially from a height of floor 35. Can cast your device to the TV. Free water- and can refill water in the water dispenser near the elevator on each floor. They have wine glasses!!! Yipee. Ample drawers and storage dir a short stay. Safe in the room. Ref. Iron. Iron board. Hairdryer. There is a laundry on the first floor. Coffee- is instant. So maybe better to get coffee elsewhere. Black out curtains is a big plus esp for guests experiencing jet lag. Comfortable beds and pillows Cold aircon Strong shower with hot water In the comfort room- Have nice shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and Lotion. Everything else, you have to bring. Location is a 4.5. It is a stone’s throw from Queen Street, but going back to the hotel is uphill- not a gentle one. Either you’ll love the exercise or hate the exhaustion. I find my room very clean. Housekeeping did a good job in my room. Again- I was worried because of some reviews. But was glad that my room was spotless. Service with a HUGE smile. Love the reception area- I was worried because read some reviews on bad service and unpleasant reception. But didn’t see the bad service -it was excellent. From the reception to the roof top bar (super accommodating) to the security person I chanced upon in the elevator and was very pleasant. Everyone made me feel welcomed. Roof top bar is nice. The host was so accommodating, even the servers were very nice. We changed tables 4 times! We wanted outdoor but it was too cold. The host didn’t even look annoyed and remained pleasant to our group. I highly recommend this hotel. Affordable. Modern. Clean. Great location. Great service.

Preparing for my first visit to New Zealand and Auckland, I initially booked the Holiday Inn Express which shares the same building as Voco as part of the IHG. However, at the last moment, I switched over to the Voco and glad I did. The hotel is located on higher floors that the HIE so the views from room would be much better. I had no issues with the elevators in time it takes to go up to the higher floors, there were 3 elevators and wait time was not an issue. I had a night time check-in, the check-in process was good and friendly. There were some cookies in the room which came in handy as I was hunger. There is a convenience store across the street which came in handy. The room was clean and view from the room spectacular. Sunset views were awesome with the Skytower and harbour. The waterfront quay was about a 10 minute walk with lots of activities plus the ferries. Queen street is also right around the corner. Used taxi service to get to the airport, there were taxis waiting outside the hotel. I had the breakfast package, which I liked and also ate dinner at the restaurant on one occasion after a long day of sightseeing, where I didn't want to adventure out. All-in-all, it was a good experience.

2 nights · Jan 2024 Contemporary 4 Star Hotel in the heart of Auckland City. You cannot go wrong with the New Voco Auckland Hotel. The rooms are spacious and modern with plenty of USB Ports and Power points where they need to be. The bathrooms are spacious with an invigorating rain shower with good pressure and upscale bathroom ammenities. The service is friendly and welcoming, with a special mention of "Ethan" on Reception, who went out of his way to make my stay a special one. Ethan is a huge asset to your team, and will go a long way in his chosen career with his can do attitude and big smile. Don't miss the wonderful "Bar Albert" located on the 38th Floor. This sophisticated bar offers breathtaking views of the Auckland Skyline and Harbour, with an offering of beautiful small sharing plates and delicious cocktails. I can highly recommend a stay here for Business or Pleasure.

Very nice property located in the heart of the city. Rooms and bathrooms good standard and comfortable. Breakfast was included in the deal and the cafe downstairs did a very good breakfast. Staff were friendly and polite. The rooftop bar is lovely, they even threw in a free drink. The only downside was that housekeeping is hit and miss. One day missed it entirely, turning up at 4pm when I was back - another day they left a card on my bed with some excuse. It didn't matter as I was on holiday. Had I been travelling on business it would have been annoying.

My usual monthly stay here (note to self: must try harder to post regular reviews) but this time a few minor issues combined to take the shine away. - Issue with housekeeping two days in a row: towels I placed on the floor to be replaced were picked up and placed on a hook. Weren't replaced. It took 20min and three calls to housekeeping/reception to get replacement towels. Room service dishes not removed. - TV remote didn't work. - asked for low fill pillows which I've had before but got sent standard ones: uncomfortable sleep. - I'm a light sleeper and found the air con is noisy (my colleagues mentioned the same). Each of these in isolation is probably minor but they added up to affect my experience - especially the housekeeping issue. It's important to note that there are still lots of great points about this hotel. The beds are comfy, rooms nicely appointed, value for money and the staff I interacted with provided excellent service.

One night at this property in Auckland CBD. My room was on a high floor with great views of the bay! Location of property near bay and walking distance to restaurants. Helpful staff providing recommendations for dining and local shopping. First timer at VOCO property and overall pleased with the room decor, size, and property amenities. I have a VOCO stay booked in Brisbane and because of my Auckland VOCO experience look forward to that stay and more VOCO stays for future travel.

Newish on trend Hotel offer for IHG, a step below the Crown Plaza brand. Well located in the CBD with easy access by car from the freeways and good location to shopping, supermarkets and eateries. Nice access to walking along the port area also, and the hop on hop off bus pick up is just around the corner adjacent Sky Tower. Rooms are spacious, quite clean and with great views across the harbour and city. Beds are comfortable and bathroom facilities great. Reception is busy but fully staffed, and the staff and breakfast offer were very good. Car parking is not cheap but adjacent the hotel. Only down side and critique was housekeeping. Wow stayed 3 nights and had to request room service on the second day at 5pm and the third day housekeeping arrived at 6pm and asked us to leave the room. Our observations were they were quite slow and distracted on their mobile phones.

Excellent 4 star hotel. Front desk staff were attentive and friendly (thank you Vik)…rooms were clean and well appointed. Duvets were perfect and comforting. Beds were perfectly comfortable. Towels were plush and absorbent. Plenty of hot water and housekeeping was on point each day. Refillable water bottles free of charge. The breakfast was fantastic and plentiful and it’s staff were quick and responsive. Kudos to restaurant manager. Great location to see the city. Views from most rooms are outstanding. Highly recommended.
