Wir haben als Start für unsere 3 monatige Neuseeland Auszeit in Devonport ein Zimmer im Hampton Beach House gebucht. Zuerst unsicher betreffend der Lage (weil nicht direkt in der City Auckland) , erst dort angekommen, aber die perfekte Wahl! Schön direkt am Meer gelegen, wenige Schritte zur Fähre mit der man alle 15 Minuten mitten in Auckland ist. Das Haus selber und die beiden Host`s sind absolut genial! Jonathan hat uns alle 3 Morgen die wir dort übernachtet haben, mit einer speziellen Frühstückskreation überrascht! Absolut genial! Das ganze Haus ist mit Stil und Geschmack eingerichtet und wir sind schon jetzt gespannt, wie das neue Pool, welches im Garten gebaut wird, dann das Ganze ergänzt. Denn eines ist sicher: wir kommen wieder !

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our Motorcycle tour of New Zealand. There was a lovely welcome when we arrived when we were offered a drink and muffin. We sat on the lovely terrace opposite the water front and overlooking Auckland. Jonathan was very helpful and went out of his way to ensure we had an enjoyable stay and organised our transport to the airport for us and ensured with left having had breakfast. The room was very comfortable as was the bed. Breakfast was plentiful with a good interesting choice which began with an amazing fresh fruit salad. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Superfreundlicher Empfang, altehrwürdiges und stilvolles Haus, sicher bald mit neu umgebautem Garten. Idealer Ausgangspunkt nach Auckland (mit Fähre). Besonders abwechslungsreiches und reichhaltiges Frühstück, viele Restaurants in Fussdistanz (5 Min.). Genialster Ort um Auckland zu besuchen – einfache Anreise und stresslos – trotz Nähe zur Grossstadt. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Es war sehr angenehm mit Flughafenshuttle und Fähre ohne Auto nach dem langen Flug zur Unterkunft zu kommen. Und das Frühstück von Jonathan ist einfach klasse. Sehr schön war auch die kleine Terrasse.

I highly recommend landing here, when you are in Auckland. Only a few minutes from the CBD with the ferry, Devonport is a peaceful and friendly place. I admire the hospitality of the locals, even if hundreds of tourists walk through the streets here every day. Hampton Beach House is nicely located, beautifully decorated and well run. Jonathan offers excellent breakfasts, a glass of wine in the afternoon and a nice chat. I hope to be back in two years time.

der standort ist einfach perfekt um auckland zu besuchen. nett in devonport gelegen, mit der fähre ist man in 15 min im zentrum von auckland. das haus ist wunderschön renoviert, die zimmer wirklich toll und geschmackvoll stylisch eingerichtet. john serviert ausgzeichnetes vielfältiges frühstück und gibt hilfreiche tipps. ein fantastischer aufenthalt! sehr zum empfehlen. und ab weihnachten gibts auch einen pool.
