We were travelling the new route 500 in September this year and arrived in Wick without booking anything in advance........Big Mistake ! as it turns out every man and his dog is touring this magnificent part of mainland Scotland and finding a place to rest your head can be a touch difficult , so it is with much relief that...

We were in Thurso, on a Saturday evening, with no bed for the night. By chance, I found this B and B on the internet. Phoned and was told that there was "room at the inn". On arrival, we were met by Kathryn, who showed us the room. What a shock! It was huge! Large double bed, huge single? bed,...

Me, partner and in laws stayed here for a week in June 2016. My mother in law is unable to walk but she had a small mobility scooter and Kathryn and Alan were great. Very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Extremely helpful with local knowledge and suggested places to visit. Great couple, we will be revisiting. Thanks...

We were pointed in the direction of this B&B by the Owner of the Brown Trout Hotel as he was unable to accommodate us for our second night in the are. The house was trully immaculate and the room we were given was a family room with a double and a single bed. There were comfy chairs to sit in and...

I spent only one night at this wonderful B&B with my three daughters, and we adored it. Kathryn and her husband were very welcoming and helpful in giving me information about the area. Their house is a cozy paradise in the middle of nowhere. Don't miss it if you are in the area and get ready for a delicious breakfast...

We've now stayed at Loch Watten House, just outside the village, on several occasions and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. As you walk in the front door it's like walking into your best friend's home. It's very welcoming and Kathryn is always there to greet you with a smile. The clean rooms have a lovely, homely feel and as...

Bit of a mix up with the booking - we used an Agency named "Private House Stays" which pre-charged £50 only to find that there was no assurance that we had accommodation and subsequently learned that the owners did not recognise that organisation. Having diembarked at Gills Bay from the excellent Pentland Ferries 1900 arrival we were in Loch Watten...
