Moonah Links is arguably one of the most comprehensive golf resorts in Victoria. Just 90 minutes from Melbourne on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Moonah Links is situated in the heart of the Cups Country, a region renowned for golf and drawing favourable comparisons to the Monterey Coast in California.

Moonah Links Resort might be known for its award-winning championship golf courses but whether you’re playing golf or not you’ll be made welcome. This is also a resort paradise where everyone is embraced.

In the clubhouse, Spike Bar is the place for coffee, drinks, and casual dining. Pull up a plush leather seat and take in the stunning views of the 18th fairway while enjoying a cocktail made using locally distilled spirits. The extensive drinks list caters for all tastes, including a selection of non-alcoholic drinks.

Pebbles restaurant is where the culinary magic happens. Head Chef, Dipen Patel brings an international flair to his a la cart menu. Dipen relishes in offering diners with the best seasonal produce, meat and seafood prepared with great thought and care. You might find dishes flavoured with traditional Indian spices that reflect Dipen’s heritage, or fresh herbs and garnishes such as saltbush or nasturtium from the Moonah Links’ very own kitchen garden. Forget any limited notion you have of ‘golf club dining’. Moonah Links is taking things to new heights.

For a relaxing getaway, book into our luxury accommodation. Moonah Links offers 70 deluxe rooms and suites, all with balconies or terraces overlooking the stunning golf courses or central putting green. Each room features natural materials, clean lines and earthy Australian tones with the stylish furnishings and fittings. The natural harmony of the outdoor setting has been brought indoors with the architecturally designed rooms echoing the landscape.

Moonah Links is open 7 days a week and open to all. Come for a casual lunch, drinks with friends, family dinner, a relaxing holiday or a round of golf. What ever it is you’re after, we will see you at Moonah Links.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

3 single friends booked a weekend away and requested 2 x singles and a sofa couch. Arrived on the first night to see the singles had been left as one King with no housekeeping staff around to separate the beds and provide extra bedding. I love my bestie but value my physical space, so no sleep for the first night. Sofa bed was obscenely uncomfortable and wouldn’t let my dog sleep on it, so the other bestie also suffered. Second night our beds were separated but one was ridiculously hard and the other was lumpy. Everything else was average. Given the eye watering $899 cost for 2 nights, I’ll be staying at RACV Cape Schank for my future trips.

I recently stayed with two friends, we booked a 1 bedroom apartment with twin beds and a sofa bed. We arrived to find a King Bed, when we advised reception we’d booked a twin they told us housekeeping had left for the night so they couldn’t split the beds. The sofa bed was hideously uncomfortable and all the furniture was in desperate need of updating, the couch and armchairs were quite grotty. We arrived home after our first day happy to see twin beds, although housekeeping had only replaced two of the three towels we had used. For the price we paid per night I’d have expected a room with modern clean furniture and a new comfortable sofa bed.

The room was clean, including under the beds and on the cupboards, and was pleasantly lit and kept to a perfect temperature for my arrival with my daughter. Ordering room service was fine. Beds were comfortable, and the view was perfect for a relaxing cup of tea on the balcony. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of options available, poached eggs were perfect. We overheard another couple making sarcastic comments based on a slight delay on getting gluten free toast, which made me realise how many negative reviews would be based on impatient elitist self entitlements, since anyone we encountered was genuine and friendly, and would admit to any little mistake and make amends straight away. Which is all anyone can ask for really. The decor is modern yet not stark or uncomfortable with minimalism, I noted that many areas are thought out with easy to maintain and clean surfaces. Requests were met, and emails responded too. (My single feedback would be to check the settings on the coffee machine, to allow a guest to make their coffee it more or less strong. It only seems to give us the option after it started making a coffee). Overall a pleasant stay, and hope to come stay again soon! Thank you :-)

We often head down to Mornington Peninsula whenever we need a short break and this time we have chosen Moonah Link for our stay. The ground is immaculate, the reception staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming, and food at the restaurant was tasty. We booked a one-bedroom suite, which is supposed to give us view of the fairway or putting green/swimming pool, but the room we received was on the ground floor, tucked in the corner, giving us minimal view of the putting green. This is fine, as the room is nice on first inspection and we weren’t planning on spending too much time in the room anyway. On closer look, house keeping really needs to put more attention with the cleanliness of these rooms: mugs were filthy, spiderwebs in corners of the room, black mould on blinds, dustpan placed on top of the dish rack, and, to top it, a “curly” on the toilet before we used it. Lastly, if you are looking for a hotel where you could get a nice sleep maybe go elsewhere or try asking for a room on the upper level. There was a group staying in the room above us and I could hear them partying and playing till 2am in the morning.

The previous negative reviews are not a true indication of the Moonah Links accommodation: indeed, I think they are most unfair! We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay in a generously sized ‘lodge’ king bed room overlooking the golf course. There is a free standing bath and a separate shower ‘room’ which had the most wonderful shower fall. Even the towels were fluffy bath sheets - not the tiny versions provided at other hotels. The rooms are well equipped - there’s a small fridge but no bar: suggest you take a bottle or two to enjoy in your room. If the sun is shining, there’s a lovely spot on the very private balcony. If you’re not a golfer, there are plenty of walks (take care on the golf course!) nearby. Sorrento is a short drive away for brunch or shopping. And Gunamatta beach is also nearby - ideal for a stroll along the sand to observe the extraordinarily choppy waves that experienced surfers dare to ride. Patrolled in summer, this beach is considered dangerous for swimmers, so beware. The meals were good: but we chose not to have the $35 per head buffet breakfast and drove to Sorrento for brunch. There is the finer dining Pebbles restaurant and the bar bistro for casual meals. The food was most enjoyable: the only mar on the experience was the fact that wait staff in the bistro did not provide cutlery with the meals - patrons are expected to collect their own (although they didn’t tell us to do so initially!) It was annoying to have to leave the table after our food arrived to find the serviettes, cutlery and pepper/salt shakers. And I did find it extraordinary that staff didn’t think to provide a soup spoon with the bowl of soup! Very odd. But overall it was a very enjoyable week-end that we may well do again.

From the moment we walked into reception it was evident that this property values its caucasian members/golf club owners more than the average joe. We stayed in the “open” room and even though they advertise this room to have amazing views over the golf course, we were on the ground floor with lots of trees blocking any sort of view and right next to the rubbish bins. I’m assuming we got a lower class room because this was booked through booking.com. Our room was also dirty, unclean windows and cobwebs in certain places. The worst part was not being able to sleep at night because the rooms above and next to us were creating havoc from 1:30am - 3am! It was beyond ridiculous, I’ve never experienced or heard such disgusting behaviour. Yelling, screaming, arguing and abusive words coming from men who were obviously drunk. Being two females we were too scared to call reception and put in a noise complaint, in case the men found out. Honestly worst night we have ever experienced in a hotel. I have stayed in multiple 4-5 star properties in Australia and overseas, however I have never experienced something like this. Even at breakfast the next morning, it was rowdy and people just didn’t have respect for anyone. Extremely pretentious patrons with a god complex just because they are members of a golf club. First and last time I will be visiting this hotel.

Facilities were excellent , however on arrival felt like second class guests as we booked through Luxury Escapes. Some inclusions were not available which we were not made aware of (access to driving range, clubs and balls). Breakfast day one was extremely busy, noisy and buffets not replenished in a hurry. It is understood that experienced staff are hard to find but it’s not hard to be polite and source answers to guest’s questions. Overall disappointing (even for a gold member of this hotel chain).

We stayed here at short notice after our flights were cancelled to go to Queensland so it was a spur of the moment booking. Neither my partner or I are into golf so we didn't take advantage of perhaps the biggest attraction to the resort. The main building and restaurant were lovely and the room we stayed in was amazing with a great view across the fairways. Perhaps the only disappointment was that on check in we were given a room hidden away at the back of the resort which wasn't what we booked for. On coming back, it became apparent that the reception staff assumed we were checking in for a 'dirty weekend', hence the room change. For the first time ever, I had to sign an agreement that if we made too much room, I would agree to be moved to another wing. Other than that, we really enjoyed the stay.

My partner Felipe and I stayed at this hotel Tuesday 30th of August. We had the pleasure of being checked in by Vulcan. He was very knowledgeable of the loyalty program and our status as Platinum. He made my partner feel very welcomed. Vulcan even remembered us as we walked past him to go to the restaurant for dinner. Vulcan also offered us a lift back to our room, so we could have a few drinks, which is a lovely offer by the hotel, as rooms are not connected to the restaurant/bar (but are walking distance). The hotel is very lucky to have this gentleman as part of the team. The hotel also have us an upgraded our room which was amazing, and has an absolutely amazing view. The bath was a great size and had a view of the gold course (lets hope no one walked passed and saw me naked. Unfortunately we stayed in bad weather, but we were so please woth our choice. Dinner wasn't the best, service lacked and restaurant staff did not know much about our accor plus membership. The staff member that served us was clearly new, but was not the only one clueless of their very limited menu. also I 100% spelt the staff members name wrong hahaha
