We had to detour around to the west side of Yosemite as the east side was closed, and thought this would be a good stopover. You get what you pay for...and we paid very little! Overall it was adequate but I would stay elsewhere in Lake Tahoe should we visit again. If you are out all day and just need...

Had a two night stay at Big Pines in a 2-bedroom unit with five of us. The unit had two good size bedrooms with two bathrooms and a decent sized lounge. Breakfast was pretty good and coffee was great.

If you don't mind a rustic design lodge style hotel, this is a great, clean affordable an excellent location for a weekend stay. service was great and rooms were clean and ready for us when we arrived. bathrooms were small with no vanity space but clean, shower had great water pressure and was a fairly good size. Fridge was nice...

This is my second review of the Big Pines Mountain House of Tahoe, overall, it is close to all, clean and safe. The updated rooms have laminate flooring instead of carpet. The room is comfortable. There are tons of little cosmetic things they could do to make it look nicer, but it is a budget stay that does not feel...

The room was nice and big, but the Hotel is quite run down. Having said that, it is close to great restaurants, pubs and attractions. The breakfast is minimal, do dont plan on filling up and skipping lunch :)

This is a motel of the old school style, but it has been redone and upgraded. My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. It is an easy walk to Heavenly Village with all that has to offer and just a bit farther to the beach. It is a great value for the price.

My family and I have stayed at several hotels in the same area near stateline and felt that big pines was one of the better hotels at a very fair price. The room small but clean. My only complaint was that the bathroom door did not lock. The location was less than a 10 minute walk to stateline with small...

I booked this hotel on a whim -- wanted to get out of town for a few days. Got a deal through hotels.com for $45 a night which was pretty good. At $45 a night, what can you expect? I have to say, more than you'd think -- the place is clean, everything works, location is convenient, the maid cleaning...

Excellent service and well prepared for travelers. This is my second time staying here and I'm glad to see familiar faces. When the Heavenly gondola was shut down due to high winds, the staff had some great alternatives for us.
