My wife and I booked Campania of Meeniyan as our base for riding “The Great Southern Rail Trail” over a couple of days. We booked unit 4 for 3 nights from May 6th to 9th. Allison, our host owner communicated with us over the couple of months prior to our visit to address our questions about access to the bike trail, Wi-Fi access and an early arrival so we could off load our gear and ride out from the property day one. The weather on our arrival was dismal with freezing temps and very wet and windy conditions. Thus we decided to postpone our start on the GSRT and opted to stay in and spend the day reading and accessing our internet tablets. The weather was so bad it completely disrupted the Wi-Fi in unit 4 and after communicating with Allison to try to improve it she very generously offered us the Casa , two bed room house, which was not booked and had really reliable Wi-Fi. While unit 4 was super clean and very well appointed the “Casa” was outstanding. My wife, an avid Magpie supporter, loved the black and white decor. The house has every luxury amenity you could ask for and the pillow top king beds made for blissful sleep. The views out from our bedroom of the sweeping farms with cows and horses was lovely to wake up to and while it was way to cold to use the pool or the outdoor bbq area we had the added bonus of the library theatre room where we accessed the internet TV to chrome cast Kayo for the Footy. Meeniyan is a great Rural township with every possible food and amenity outlet you would need for a lovely stay. We managed to ride the GSRT to both Fish Creek for a fabulous Seniors Fish and Chip dinner, ( most delicious beer battered fish we have eaten) at the pub. Then the next day rode to Koonwarra where we discovered, to our great delight, Milly and Romeo’s cakes and coffee to boost our energy for the ride back. Our only concern would be that you will need to take your bikes into Meeniyan on the car as the gravel road up to Campania is steep, winding and busy with fast moving traffic.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The room was really nice. Comfortable, clean & tidy. The spa was plenty big enough for 2 people. The property was nice, away from the town set in a country landscape with a pool.
The negatives - The amount of emails we received leading up to the stay was ridiculous. Approx 9 emails with lengthy rules & fines if certain things weren't done or adhered to. We understand that rules are in place to keep the property in good order but we were actually dreading the stay as the wording in some emails was quite passive/aggressive. A large % of the rules weren't even related to this property.
It seems this company manage multiple properties but have generic rules they send out. Can we suggest tailoring information to each property so as to not confuse the guests.
In all, the property was really nice but we would have enjoyed our stay a bit more if it weren't for the above mentioned things.

Luxury accommodation around this area of Gippsland is hard to find - plenty of retro roadside motels but nothing luxury. I was so happy (and relieved) when I found Campania of Meeniyan ! It’s managed by Getaway Property Management, and everything is handled remotely, including an access pin code. The accommodation is located a short 5 min drive from the main area of town, and it consists of a house (Casa) and 4 attached individual rooms (motel style). We stayed in room 1. Rooms are beautifully furnished and appointed. The bed is absolutely huge, a super king (6.3ft wide) and is incredibly comfortable. Nice modern rain shower and toiletries. Kettle toaster bar fridge and microwave provided. Unfortunately the tea supplied is Lipton’s - thankfully I brought my own. There is a Nespresso machine with compatible “L’OR” pods provided. But unfortunately the Nespresso machine was not working so had to do without morning coffee. The only other real issue we had was the noise from the wooden deck around the Casa house- Room 1 is next to / attached to the deck and we had almost an hour of people clunking back and forth. My suggestion/ recommendation would be to select room 3 or 4 which are further away.
There is a nice pool but not very private as all the rooms overlook the pool. But the views from the property are lovely.
We had a really good one night stay at Campania and enjoyed visiting Meeniyan.

Only two of our group were given entry codes and we deduced the code to get in. No one would answer the phone. The rooms were very well appointed if a little dark and there were only 2 tissues in the tissue box. In winter the rooms were very cold and the reverse cycle unit didn’t warm the bathroom at all. We left our iPads in the room ( black on black surface in a dark room) and while the cleaners found them and put them in a safe place it took some time for Getaway to tell us where they were left. Overall not our first choice for a return visit but Meeniyan itself was lovely. Especially Moo, the Pub and Trulli.

The location is beautiful and quiet. Rolling hills and bird song. The rooms are well appointed and clean and the bed was very comfortable. If staying in the area again we would definitely stay again. The down sides included the onerous registration process and the last minute entry information. I like to be well organised for a trip so this didn’t appeal to me. Also, the lock on Suite 2 is a bit tricky and requires a few goes to get the door at the right gap so the bolt lines up.

This is the perfect place to position yourself for exploring this area. We walked two different parts of the the Great Southern rail trail, visited Sandy Point and Waratah Bay beaches, Agnes waterfalls and ate in Meeniyan (Trulli 👍) and Fish Creek (Paddock 👍) as well enjoying the sumptuous accomodation on offer here at Campania. Great bed, linen, towels, toiletries etc wonderful sized bathroom, coffee machine etc - everything was top class - the price mid week is fantastic too. Will be back and will recommend to all and sundry - fantastic little trip.

Beautiful spacious house with everything anyone would need to enjoy a peaceful quiet getaway. Only minutes from the town. The views from the balcony are nice with horses roaming about. The afternoon breeze is a blessing when the weather is hot. I would definately stay here again.

Very expensive room at $250 per night . Lack of privacy as you are looking into both of your neighbours .Would be great if you go away as a group of 4 couples and take over the whole place Decor is very well done and includes nice touches such as candles , coffee machine and gorgeous fluffy oversized white towels but the bed linen is thick and coarse and did not make for a comfortable sleep

The non-spa suite in which we stayed was a spacious, modern comfortable room with a large, well-appointed bathroom. I found the bed comfortable, my partner didn’t. Preferences, obviously. The view over the valley was lovely. Despite the advertising, I wouldn’t call it ‘luxury’ accommodation. The metal bench outside on the deck was uncomfortable, and a small table wouldn’t have gone amiss. The bedside lights were totally unsuitable for reading. Windows were grubby. The room wasn’t serviced, which we learned from some very small print on the home page. The most off-putting thing of all however, was the property management group. After booking and paying for a 2 night stay, we were asked to upload images of a driver’s licence and a credit card, which needless to say, we didn’t do, even though I did give them my licence number. We also received a number of emails with instructions that were clearly not property- specific, including two rather unfriendly emails informing us that late checkout would incur a fee of $500. Basic glassware and crockery were provided, huge mugs quite unsuitable for the amount of coffee the Nespresso machine produces. Quite inadequate washing up gear - an old sponge/scourer and one of those ridiculous half synthetic tea towels that leaves lint on the glasses without drying them at all. Picky, I know, but for that price one expects a more polished performance.

This place is incredible.Very new and built with no expense spared. Top quality construction and furnishings, built with an appealing black and white theme - everything is either black or white - in the kitchenette or bathroom, right down to black cutlery and plates. First class WiFi and beautifully landscaped surroundings.
As another reviewer said - never experienced such perfection before.
