We are a social enterprise focused on oceanic protection, namely reefs and turtles. Pulau Weh Paradise was started by a committed team including renowned tech innovator Neal Cross, his cousin Paul Cross and his friend and local Iman, Abdullah Togap with the objective to advocate for local prosperity, community empowerment and orangutan protection. Besides its mission to raise awareness of the plight of the coral reefs, the hotel has also been a source of jobs and education for the local villages. The first project delivered by this team was Hotel Orangutan, an Eco-resort to increase awareness for the Sumatran Orangutans.

Sandy and the team at Pulau Weh were amazing! Such great food, awesome bungalows and the manager there Sandy is incredible!! He did so much for us and made sure we were comfortable all day long. It was my birthday whilst we were there and Sandy organised a gorgeous cake for me and a lovely table setting for my partner and myself. He gave fantastic recommendation and I highly recommend this accommodation for a relaxing trip away.

An absolutely amazing place to go if you want to wind down and relax. The beach is so lovely and quiet that I ended up sleeping on my sun bed most of the day! The bungalows are wonderful, spacious rooms with great little Living-room area and comfy sofas and bed. The balcony faces out to the sea with a hammock if you simply want to lounge all day (which we did!). The roads are surprisingly well maintained and so you won’t go bouncing around like you’ll find in most of Indonesia. Sandy and the staff here are so friendly and helpful that i doubt you’ll find much that they can’t help you with. The restaurant is also great, providing good variation of options and very good quality food! Highly recommend the curries, fish with steamed veg and even jacket potatoes!!! All in all a great trip and will definitely come back again. Wonderful place for honeymooners, families or anyone looking for a slice of paradise away from the rest of the chaos of Indonesia! …

We went to Pulau Weh Paradise for four days just before Christmas and bookes one of their nice chalets. The pickup from Banda Aceh airport was punctual, and the driver took us around the city to drop us at the ferry well on time. He also knew a lot about the region. At Pulau Weh itself we got agin picked up by a lovely driver who also took us around one day to see the volcano, the Japanese war memorial, and Sabang City. This driver also picked us up on Sunday morning very early to queue for us at the ferry terminal for tickets. Beside their excellent driver service, the Paradise itself was clean, comfortable, and quiet; a perfect way to relax at the beach. Their restaurant had good local and Western food joices. All in all, the stay was great! Well recommended for the service, the comfort, and the gorgeous surroundings.…

Pulau Weh Paradise is tucked away, with its own private beach. The bungalows offer the wow factor with huge windows looking out over the waves and sand, well decked out with modern furniture. It's a little away from the main action from the rest of the island, but that can be a good thing - easily solved with a scooter or tuk tuk. There aren't too many rooms, making the resort serene. The staff are the hotel's biggest asset - warm, friendly and helpful. In particular, Sandy fast became a highlight of the trip with his helpfulness and lively personality. We'll miss his spirit. The water on this side of the island is a little choppier than other parts, but not really a problem. Just an FYI. It's the perfect place to chill if you've been buzzing round the rest of Sumatra, like we had.…

This is my second visit to Pulau Weh so I have had a chance to visit many of the other hotels. Pulau Weh Paradise has some of the best quality, clean villas on the island - all with amazing ocean views. The staff are extremely friendly and effortless dealt with every request. The location is on the quieter side of the island but a very easy (and fun) journey to some of the other beautiful beaches. I hired a car through the hotel because I didn't fancy a motorbike which was easily arranged and excellent value. The breakwater means that you can easily swim even at low tide or when the swell picks up. There is also supurb snorkelling for any ability right off the hotel's private beach. I travelled on my own this trip but would also highly recommend as being suitable for families - all the villas have inter-connecting rooms with the neighbouring villa. The owner is also very committed to environmental conversation as well as supporting the local community which is always a good thing. Thank you Pulau Weh Paradise and I look forward to my next visit.…

If you are looking for not crowded quiet place to chill out, this is the place. Staff was very friendly and feel like home. There’s also home stay type room above restaurant building with shared bathroom and offers very reasonable price but we preferred bungalow type room a lot. WiFi was slow because of network coverage for this area. Best to do is reading book, listening music and watch great sunset!

PWP is located about half hour from city, very isolated and you will surely need to book a car to get town for meals. We went in a large group. Some of us who stayed in the bungalows, we loved it! But the rest who stayed in the deluxe and double rooms, were not pleased with the facilities. The double rooms dont come with airconds, and all the double and deluxe rooms share the shower and toilet facilities like backpackers. I was indeed surprised that on one hand the bungalows portray exclusive resort setting but the other hand, the other rooms are very much like backpackers lodge. Unfortunately, their modem broke and there was no wifi in the common area and where the double and deluxe rooms are. There was wifi only in the bungalows. The management should update all their guests on this, so that we are better informed. Sandy or Sandir, the manager is fabulous. Entertaining, caring and very accommodating, and so are the the F&B team. We organized our own BBQ with lobsters, fish and chicken and the resort charged us for cooking services. Similar to the restaurants in Boracay. We got the resort staff to buy the lobsters, etc fresh from the fishermen and the rest from the market. Acehnese use lot of oil and sugar in their feed :), so we even shared recipes with them to adjust their cooking to our likings. You cant get this in hotels :) Udin, the external transport provider helped us with van bookings and tours. We paid Rupiah 700000 for whole day rental, all included no surprises. the visit to the waterfalls, hotspring and volcanic mountain was great. We loved the waterfalls. the trekking is quite challenging as its mostly rocky and slippery but the nature is lovely! The oldest in our group, my cousin who is 58 years old was helped by our guides and us, and she made it to the top! She felt so great and had no regrets joining the tough walk. Overall, the trip was excellent. You make the best out of it and as it it's a divers paradise dont expect the usual luxuries you will find in normal resorts.…

This place is a paradise, a perfect place to get away from civilisation. The hotel located right on seashore and the beach is clean and quiet. Booked the cheapest room and it was okay, there were shared bathrooms and it was clean. The staffs were friendly and one of them was wayyy too cheerful lol, but the service was too slow especially on dinner time. I saw a lot of people were waiting for their food to come out. I ordered fried rice because I thought it would be quick but it came out an hour later, might as well just go out to local restaurant near the hotel. Manager, if you're reading this, please hire more staff.

We stayed there 4 days and had a great time. The beach is great and you can snorkel directly in front of the bungalows. The hotel staff is really helpful for the transports, tours etc. The food is great but a bit more expensive than it should be and some meals can take up to 2 hours to be ready, so you should consider it before ordering. The public toilet and showers are clean and there is hot water. The rooms are clean and spacious. Cat lovers, you will like this place! There are many friendly cats and kittens around the place that want to be cuddled! Also, everything on the Island is about 25 minutes.
