We booked a function room for a family wake. This was the ideal location for our family, and is well situated for exploring the Hastings/Rye area. Right from initial enquiry Nicola and her mother were extremely friendly and helpful. On the day itself they were friendly, attentive but also unobtrusive. The buffet they provided was excellent with more than enough...

Fairlight Lodge Hotel could not be in a better situation. The historic building is set in its own grounds in a wooded area outside of Hastings and Is very quiet. The owners were very friendly. It is best seen as a ' Boarding House'. It is not run as a hotel - we were let in by another guest and...

I had a lovely & peaceful stay in a twin room as I need a bed for the evening. The staff were warm and friendly and helpful in providing some local information. I would certainly come and stay again. The hotel grounds are large and perfect for a game of pettanque, or frisbee etc. Breakfast was large with plenty of...

On arrival the building looks like it needs a good coat of paint there is also a rusted van in the car park, first impressions not great. Room was dreadful, heating that wouldn't turn down, no hot water for both days even though we mentioned it. No hair dryer in room and no mirror in room (one in bathroom which...

My husband and I went for Sunday lunch, as guests of another couple. We have seldom been anyway so friendly. The three course lunch had plenty of choice, with generous portion sizes, and everything beautifully presented. I see some people have written negative reviews about the dated decor. Personally, I would rather eat delicious food served by a jolly and...

We started off,not sure. We stuck with it, and are very pleased we did. The accommodation is quirky, the people who own and run it are absolutely lovely. Breakfast was brilliant, catering well for a gluten free diet. Look beyond the first impression to have a peacefully and character filled break. We will go again

The building is in need of much repair work and the bedrooms need re decorating. However, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast excellent value, well served with plenty of tea coffee toast etc. The building has suffered the ravages of age but feels welcoming. Bedrooms are clean, towels fresh and the complimentary tea/coffee facilities perfectly adequate...

From the moment we first spoke with Nicola, the owner, about holding a family gathering (Wake) at the hotel to the time we left on the day we could not fault their attention to detail, the fantastic buffet, catering with no fuss or problem for specific dietary requirements of a family member , the friendliness of the staff and the...

In a lovely location, this listed building is worth visiting for its friendly welcome and excellent food. We have been there many times for family meals and celebrations and always come away happy, relaxed and well fed. I've only made day visits so can't comment beyond that.

I went with a group of 14 to Fairlight Lodge for lunch, yes the place does need an update but the food was wonderful, beautifully cooked and served, the hosts were warm and welcoming. We are looking forward to returning in the better weather so can take sit and enjoy the lovely gardens.
