This place is absolutely beautiful! The lodges are big and beautiful. Every lodge has a veranda with view to the river. Such a quiet place where you can enjoy the nature, listen to all the jungle/bird sounds and relax. There are many beautiful birds to watch and there is also an opportunity to have a hike with marked trails. You...

Travelled here for toucans and macaws and was not disappointed. This is a quest Eco lodge that provides remoteness with some comforts from home like delicious meals, drinks and wifi (but don't expect service like in the main towns). Staff are friendly and accommodation comfortable considering where you are. The drive includes 1 hour of Costa Rican massage, so if...

We spent 2 nights at maquenque in their tree house and loved every minute of it! It is very remote, but that's exactly what we enjoyed! It's where you can experience the rain forest at its fullest. There are 3 different types of toucans constantly flying by the restaurant, we saw macaws and tons of other beautiful birds while eating...

We arrived late in the rainy evening at this lodge. Hopitality was great as the hotel is run by a family. The menu card is limited but quality of the food is great. The restaurant is well located next to a small lake with wild life and a bird feeding place. The lodges are basic but very open allowing to...

My family and I enjoyed a fun three days here in July. We transferred here from St Jose and although it's a long trip we stopped en route at a waterfall and for some delicious local food at a roadside stop close by. The last hour is on a bumpy road. It's tedious, but worth it in the end. Very...

We were pleased with many different birds and have taken Photos and Videos. On this date, it rained a lot but we also had sunshine for...

My girlfriend and I saw this online and we thought that the concept of a tree house was quite original so we decided to try it out without any further research as a get away. So we began our trip from San Jose to Boca Tapada the road was great, the weather started to get warmer and much more humid...
