We had a recent 5 night stay here, very well appointed and clean park. The shared camp kitchens are great and have drink and chip vending machines. Laundry is great and shared amenities also. We stayed in a studio cabin and thank the lord for the air conditioning. Cabins are clean, great comfy bed, great shower. The stove top is very slow to get hot and when it finally does it is really only warm. The pool area and bar/café are a huge drawing point to this park. Must give the young staff in the café a huge round of applause, they were all beautifully polite and accommodating and cooked us some great breakfasts and dinners, job very well done by the young ones. Food was very fresh and a great selection of wine and beverages. Great idea for the slushy makers for the kids. Prices I think are very reasonable as meals are large portions. The office staff are beautiful, professional, helpful and informative of the park and surrounding areas. I love the ocean, but the walk from the park to the ocean is quite long, be prepared for a long walk and avoid it on extreme heat days as your feet will get scorched. Beach is unpatrolled but so beautiful when you finally get to it. As I said great for families with kids. Kids riding around the park on bikes and scooters and skateboards making friends is beautiful to see.

My husband and I spent 4 nights in the motel room at Middle Rock. The accommodation was well set up with crockery (including dinner plates) cutlery, microwave, toaster and jug. We particularly liked that the shower was separate to the toilet. The grounds were neat and tidy. The staff very courteous and helpful. The pools are fabulous and kept very clean. We walked to the koala sanctuary next door which we really enjoyed. We also spent time visiting and swimming in some of the beautiful beaches nearby.
We would recommend this property and families with children would especially enjoy it.

When most of Port Stephens is crowded, Middle Rock seems to have the space and seclusion to make you feel like you're on holidays. Even with changes in weather, Middle Rock is nestled in the protective bushland with cockatoos and possums. The nicely laid out grounds also provide access to a quiet unpatrolled beach. Although it is a 500m trek through bush and sand dunes, the picturesque reward and unspoilt beach is worth the effort.

The pool and octopus splash pool was the highlight for the kids. The on site restaurant was also handy and had a good selection of foods. Reception team was friendly and accommodating, especially when we wanted to extend our stay. The maintenance man was also super helpful in assisting us in parking our motorhome

So, let's buy both caravan parks in Anna Bay.
Yeh great idea. We can make one a jamb them in tighter than sardines caravan park.
Hey the other one has lots of long term onsite vans and a bit of retirement home section.
Yeh but there's that bit up the back that's a different title. We can't touch that.
That's OK. Lets evict the onsite owners and make it all retirement relocatables.
And the bit at the back, its really nice for unpowered sites.
Put the price up son. $65/night is not enough. Make it $110/night for 2022.
All those in favour say aye!

What an unconscionable price increase!

How can you possibly justify a 70% price increase in an area that you pay no attention to.

We arrived 19th Dec and asked that dangerous sharp plants in access ways be trimmed back. A further 3 times we asked at the office. We were ignored. When the sites on both sides of the access path to the camp kitchen were forced to use alternative access or walk through other campers sites (not the right thing).

On arrival our site had not been mowed for at least two weeks.

The ammenities constantly ran out of toilet paper. We asked this be addressed but to no avail. Cleaning was barely adequate. No sanitiser available at the entry gate keyboard. No Covid safe at all!

Since Ingenia have taken over, a beautiful camp has turned to .......... Eight straight years we've camped there and others we camp with many many more. If you dont want us back or to recommend this place Ingenia, you've gone the right way about it.

We are totally torn because we love our stays there but at $110/night ........

Hi Karmsurfa, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback after your recent stay at Middlerock. We are very sorry to hear of your experience, at Ingenia Holidays we strive to create a getaway experience that is enjoyable and comfortable - to hear we fell short of that is disappointing. Our cabins that you have mentioned are for tourism and not for retirement. We have also taken your feedback on board and have passed it onto management to review further. Warm Regards, Lauren

Great location and clean facilities. Mosquitoes are very bad in the unpowered site areas closer to the beach access path. During wet season the sites get quite damp and the soil softens up and doesn't keep the tent stakes in quite well - need to double sometimes triple the stakes to anchor the tent. Park is quiet and very safe for kids to roam around, also the kids facilities are quite fun. Although advertised as G'Day Parks network resort, they did not honour my membership and charged a full amount. Overall, a pretty nice spot for family holidays!

Oh.... only problem was that there is zero phone reception and zero wi go. Our phones didn’t work at all. We couldn’t even access our own data.

Our kids loved it there and we really enjoyed it too. Room 39 is so convenient and you can watch the kids on the jumping pillow from that room.

We have been camping on an unpowered site here for 15years

The previous owners were outstanding. Staff were courteous and prompt. The public areas were clean and mowed prior to our arrival every year and well maintained for our entire visit

This year. What can I say

Staff were still polite (especially in the office) however not 1 request to attend to issues in the unpowered sites was completed In the 16 days we were there

Amenities were not maintained
Paths were dangerous especially for families with small children.

We received email and texts about Childrens activities but did not have registered children with us

They were concentrating on pouring concrete on Christmas Eve instead of having the courtesy to have camp sites ready for customers who had already paid for their holiday

And now they had the nerve to more than double the unpowered site cost with NO IMPROVEMENTS. They want us to pay before the work is done!

It would be justified after improving the sites but before! Give us a break.

It’s goodbye from our family. We won’t be returning. A repeat customer lost forever!

Unfortunately I feel that since Ingenia took over, Camping maintenance of grounds/facilities have not been maintained as well as they used to. It seems it's all about the cabins. The camping ground are just beautiful & we so enjoy coming every year but unfortunately the prices have increased by 70% for 2022/23 Xmas period.

Is 7 nights too many to stay? What else is around outside of park to do as activities?
Nelson Bay, Australia
Great question! There is plenty of activities to do and places to see when you stay at Middle Rock. Plus, if you're staying with us during school holidays, there's always internal kids activities too. Outside of our park, we are a short drive from all the big star Port Stephens attractions. We recommend visiting Destination Port Stephens website, as they have a great range of information and images you can access. Sincerely, The Middle Rock Team.

Is it far to walk to the beach from the cabins? Thanks
Nelson Bay, Australia
Thanks for your question. It does depend on which cabin you are walking from however, on average it's approximately just a 5 minute walk from our cabins to our private beach access. Cheers, Middle Rock Guest Relations.
Nelson Bay, Australia
Thanks for your question! We confirm all our cabins have air-conditioners in the main section of the cabin, and floor fans can be provided on request. Sincerely, The Middle Rock Team.

The plunge/spa pool is heated to approx. 31-33 degrees all year round. The other pools are not heated but still attract the brave little soldiers in winter. They love to jump in the large pool and jump back into the spa pool over and over again. Fun to watch. The pool hours are 8am until approx. 8pm but closing time will vary based on the weather. Please remember these pools are not supervised so all children must be accompanied by a responsible person. We look forward to seeing you soon.
