My partner and I have often been to Bali, but never to Selat. We decided to visit regional Bali for a few relaxing nights together and stumbled across Hideout Bali when searching for a hotel online. While we wouldn't normally spend this much per night, we wanted a venue that immersed us in the jungle and these places often come with a higher price tag. Hideout Bali delivered on expectations and didn't disappoint, it was well worth the money!
We spent 3 nights in the Hideout Horizon and couldn't have been happier with our choice. The hut is surrounded by plants for privacy and allows you to feel part of the jungle. There are many places to sit and relax, including a beautiful hot tub (although think warm, not hot). The open bathroom is gorgeous, just imagine yourself showering in the rainforest with hot water and good water pressure. I was sceptical that a round bed would be big enough for the 2 of us who are used to a king-sized bed, and thought we'd roll right off, but I was proven wrong as we had a comfortable sleep listening to the running water of the nearby river and singing geckos. The house is open (i.e. no walls/screens except for the net over the bed) but we had no troubles with mosquitoes in July. However, the hut was equipped with personal repellent and burners for flying insects just in case.
The staff were very friendly and we could ask for anything via WhatsApp when needed. We were able to get a driver to local attractions for a day trip but there are no international ATMs or money exchangers in the local villages, so take enough Rupiah to last your visit.
There is nothing we would change and can't wait to visit again :)

If you want to experience something extraordinary, spend a few days at Hideout Bali. We deliberately chose the Cocoon. It is located about 300 meters away from the other houses and the bistro. Contact is easy via WhatsApp, as there is a good internet connection. If you stay in one of the houses, you have to be aware that you are in the middle of nature. But that is exactly what appealed to us and we wanted to experience this. Not far away is a small village where we were greeted very warmly. The food on offer is very good and although everything was brought by scooter, the food was warm and punctual to the minute. The whole team is very friendly and you can borrow a scooter for free. The houses are lovingly and tastefully furnished, nothing is missing. A few days away from the hustle and bustle did us good and we enjoyed the time very much. Thank you, Team Hideout

Hideout Bali is just gorgeous. Individual houses with in the bend of a river, all made of bamboo. We stayed in Beehive - it was amazing. The staff are super helpful and explained everything we needed. You place food orders and book trips via WhatsApp and you are otherwise left alone. Perfect for a total chill. Food was tremendous. Totally recommended

We stayed at the Hideout Beehive and Horizon in December 2023, and we had an amazing experience! The Hideout kindly allowed us to do our elopement ceremony there, and they were so helpful in planning our day leading up to the event and the day of. Our special day was absolutely perfect thanks to the Hideout team. The bamboo houses and jungle surroundings are so gorgeous and peaceful you won't want to leave. You can message the staff on WhatsApp anytime to order food or drinks, and their menu is big and delicious. We felt like we had total privacy but also could reach out to them if there was anything we needed. By the time we left, we truly felt like the staff was family. They were so kind and welcoming. Hideout will forever hold a very special place in our hearts. If you want to stay somewhere truly magical, this is the place for you!

The villa I stayed in was very comfortable and full of natural charm. The design combines wood and stone elements to create a warm and natural feel. The large bedroom is equipped with a soft bed and large windows that allow you to enjoy the stunning mountain views. One of the main highlights is the private balcony that looks directly out onto the valley and mountains, the perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or simply relax while enjoying the view.

For our Bali trip, we wanted to stay as a family in a bamboo house in the middle of nature to experience this part of Bali in its purest form. we chose Hideout located in Sidemen, a village surrounded by rice fields and volcano. For accommodation we chose the Beehive at Hideout. A spacious bamboo house, ideal for a family of 4 people. Equipped with a heated jacuzzi and located on the river. Right next to the Bamboo house is a small bamboo house where our daughters aged 11 and 13 slept. Upon arrival, you will be completely pampered by the very friendly staff and you will be welcomed with a traditional drink and delicacies. The food, breakfast, lunch and dinner is really excellent. the delicious dishes prepared with the greatest care by the staff. You can undertake various activities from Hideout, for example we opted for the silversmithing workshop at Agung Silver and made our own jewelry here. From transport to the workshop, everything was arranged by the staff, truly fantastic. In summary: Hideout is the perfect place to stay if you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. It is a gem in Bali. Very suitable for young children, our daughters had a great time. As for wild animals or insects, don't be afraid of them at all because they really don't do anything. We saw salamanders, birds, butterflies, fireflies (how special!) and just enjoyed it. Hideout family thanks for this beautiful experience and memories.

Nestled deep within the enchanted rice field landscape of Duda you’ll find Hide Out a resort of unparalleled splendor. This magical retreat, offers luxurious romantic rooms smacked between mini waterfalls, mysterious statues and arborescent ferns.

Our house was a half open haven of elegance and comfort. The view from our bedroom was nothing less than spectacular, greeted in the morning by sun rays peeking through the leaves of coconut trees and prehistoric ferns, creating a golden halo.

But you have to be prepared for incidental meetups with big frogs, small lizards and blood suckers.

Time plays to a different tune here.

We stayed in the Beehive with our two children (age 4 and 8 years) and booked based on this being one of of the few bamboo villas that seemed to permit children. It was a superb family stay - it is so incredible beautiful and we all loved our time there. I was a little worried about the roof top balcony with no railing and the unfenced plunge pool, but our kids respected the rules (no going near the edge of the roof and no going in the plunge pool without supervision), and there was no cause for concern at all. The kids loved the swing, the pool, the creek and just all of it really! The hideout kitchen is right next door and we would just pop our heads in to order meals - all of which were lovely. It was our favourite stay during our 3 weeks in Bali - it really was a magical family stay. Thank you 🙏
