Fantastic location for day trip by local Red bus to Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre.
Friendly staff, seems like a big family run business.
Free pickup from the train station - great for us because our train arrived in the dark, 1830.
Dinner is available until 8pm.
Cold beer at a good price.
Clean.
2 complimentary bottles of water each day.
A lovely local feel with many locals dropping in to their shop to buy things.
Sitting in their outdoor restaurant is fun to watch Thai life go by.

Please note if you are fussy on beds - the bed was hard but for 2-3 nights we'd stay again. It's worth it for us due to the location and ease of visiting Hellfire Pass independently (by local bus) with no stress of getting to / from Kanchanaburi on the train the same day.

Great, friendly and clean homestay that is perfect for visiting from the death railway (10 minute walk from Nam Tok train station)
We stayed here for a night in Nov17 after taking the train from Bangkok (train from Thonburi to Nam Tok 100bht). From here we went to Sak Yok Noi waterfalls and Hellfire Pass.

Value for money - 5/5
Room - 4.5/5 (basic as you would expect for the price but clean with air conditioning)
Facilities - 3/5 (shared toilet but was clean. Eating was in the adjoining restaurant which was very good and cheap)
Wi-fi - 5/5
Staff - 5/5 (the owners were great and really helpful for directions)
Atmosphere - 3.5/5 (was very quiet, until the cockerel started going at 5am!)

Insider tip - easy to walk from the Nam Tok train station. Plus the waterfall is 10-15 minute walk up the road (where there is also local buses to Hellfire Pass and Kanchanaburi for very cheap)

We, a family of 4, spent 4 nights at Yayei. The establishment is unique and the family that is running it is just amazing! They are polite, friendly, helpful and always smiling.
The elderly lady in the kitchen is lovely and is very good cook. She also prepares your continental breakfast.
When we asked about a daytrip we wanted to make, and how we could best travel there, the owner offered to take us there. We ended up spending most of the day with their lovely family and they guided us to places we orherwise would have missed.
We definately recommend you stay here!!

I don't understand the comments about this place on booking. It sounded like a wonderful homestay with a real family and homely vibe. This description could not have been more wrong. Although most of the staff was friendly, it did not have an inviting feeling. The waitress in the restaurant was super rude and uninterested in doing her job and the pick-up they offered us never came so after waiting for 15 minutes at the station we ended up walking to the hostel. I can not stress enough: not a homestay! We have been to many homestays in Asia so I know what to expect.
Besides that the room was big and clean (apart from the dirty toilet paper that was still in our bin in the bathroom), the beds weren't great, the ac works very well.
The food was very average! I guess the bar was very low for all the people who came before us when it comes to food. You can get better food at the market on the main road near the Sai Yok noi waterfalls.

"homey ambiance" We stayed here for 3 days besides its near namtok train station and accessible to other places. You can rent a bike or motorcycle with a free wifi. They can pick up/drop you in the train station with no additional cost. rooms are cleaned with aircondition but its more relaxing to stayed outside your since the place was close to nature your background was mountain its really a homey atmosphere, you can make your own coffee or choco since the place have one common pantry area, they provided you a free mineral water as a complimentary upon you check in.Your can ask and order to young lady who understand english and its absolutely cheapest compared to other restaurant very appetizing and delicious since it was a home made dishes and in dinner they will give you a free platter of fruits The facilities are well kept they have a common restroom and small pantry where you can stored your drinks. All the staff was very friendly. and hospitable if you need something just ask them to help you.
thank you so much maybe in a future we will come back as a family..

Felt like being at home! Suk Ki treaded us so nice and helped us a lot to get a motorbike and had lots of advices for nice spots around. The house is very clean and really nice. The breakfast is so delicious and we wish we had more time than just one night to stay there. We can highly recommend it!

We stayed in two different rooms. One upstairs with thin bamboo walls and shared bathroom, the other one was downstairs with concrete walls and soundproof and private bathroom.
Both rooms were very clean and comfortable. Good bedding and linens. And good working aircon in both.
The shared bathroom was kept very clean and was no problem.
Food in the restaurant is good and affordable. They close at 20:00.
There are remarks about booking trips thru their office, and we rented a motorcycle and that is pricey at 350 bath per day. Going rate in other tourist area's is 200 to 250 baht.
But it did allow us to visit Erawan Falls without having to book a separate tour. Great ride to Erawan Nat'l Park. We also used the motorcycle to ride to Hellfire Pass Museum.
Sai Yok Noi waterfall is a short walk away and there are good and low-priced eateries close to it. They close at 17:00.
Train station Nam Tok is walking distance as well, but the hotel will shuttle upon request. We were glad to accept that with our luggage.
Overall, a great place to stay at an affordable price, good food and very kind people in a quiet, rural atmosphere.

This is a picturesque place in a beautiful landscape where it’s very easy to feel at home! It has a nicely rural feel without being too far from things to do and “civilisation”. There are multiple amazing sights not too far away including Erawan Waterfall, the death railway, lots of caves, elephants and rafting trips. I had a special bond with the chef, who cooks amazing food for a great price and is just generally fun! Everyone is super sweet!

The rooms are clean, with air conditioning, free water bottles for your excursions and a WiFi service. They provide a nice massage for a good price as well! They helped us book stuff although I would recommend checking out some prices in advance, you may be able to get what we got for cheaper. Very low noise pollution despite being very close to a main road that takes you wherever you need to go. Love the place and can recommend very highly!
