Le Pirate Hotel in Labuan Bajo is average at best. Unfortunately, there is a very active construction project going on across the street from the hotel which continues through all hours of the night and completely obstructs the “ocean view”. Dont pay for any sort of view with your room as there simply isn’t one (I fell into that trap). There is also club music blaring until late into the night as well as traffic noise, not to mention the middle of the night boat horns (a neither quiet nor relaxing vacation spot). The rooms are very basic but there is AC (and wifi when in the restaurant). I booked the room before and after Le Pirate cruise as the website claimed that you cannot arrive the day of the cruise departure or leave the day of arrival (as the boat returns at 4-5 pm). Both of these claims are false and I was the only idiot in my group to book the hotel before/after the cruise as indicated by the website. The boat returned on the final day of the cruise at 2 pm in order to accommodate everyone else on the cruise who had flights the same day. So, I had to kill a day in Labuan Bajo and pay for my own transfer to the airport (the others were all taken there complimentary on the day of arrival). When getting here, it is worth paying a little extra to take a reliable airline such as Singapore Airlines (Would avoid flying Garuda Indonesia. Very unreliable). If i had it to do over again, i would take Le Pirate Cruise and not stay at the hotel.

We stayed here with our 15 yo son based on a recommendation from friends who have stayed there before.
Staff were great. Rooms are tiny but comfortable and just fine given you will be spending all day out and about or upstairs at the killer rooftops bar and pool. You will apprciate the AC on those tiny rooms. The included breakfast was great.
There is a live band 3 nghts / week which was fun but probably an issue if you want to get to sleep earlier than 9pm.

My wife and I stayed here for one night before taking a multi day tour of the surrounding islands. Le Pirates is an awesome place to stay with very comfortable beds and great air conditioning! We stayed on a Saturday night and they had live music which was lovely to listen to and we didn't really hear it that much when we went up to bed which was great. I'd highly recommend this place if you are staying in Labuan Bajo before you sail off to Komodo and other islands. Very nice hotel!

This property was advertised as a functioning hotel with a rooftop pool. We arrived to the surprise of a ghost town. Nobody downstairs to welcome us or check us in at the front desk. We carried all of our luggage to the second floor to be checked in by the bartender. They asked for us to pay the remainder of the balance but they don’t even have a credit card machine! I told them I would not be paying cash and they told me there was no other option. On top of that the pool is completely closed and the rooms are tiny and do not look like the advertised pictures. I understand these are tough times but this place is run down and the service is terrible. We couldn’t even find the manager because they said she was taking a nap!

Le Pirate's restaurant is one of the places I frequently eat at when in LBJ - the food is very good indeed. And we once went out to Pirate Island, which I also enjoyed immensely. So, when we were stranded in town because flights were delayed by Cyclone Seroja, I thought I'd try staying there. Well... that lasted 5 minutes before I apologetically left for the place next door. Le Pirate's rooms are so small that you have to put your suitcase on the bed to open it. The reading lights didn't work, but what did work all too well was the glare from the neon sign of the new hotel across the street (not Le Pirate's fault, I know, but the fact is, it's like being under a floodlight). The cost of this tiny, undecorated space was more than the capacious and comfortable room next door - and as a previous email notes, it seems they've stopped accepting credit cards.

So disappointed!
I had made a booking & paid in advance for a family room. Due to travelling issues I couldn’t make it,
I tried to cancel the room 3 x days prior, contacted Le pirate in Labuan Bajo about not being able to make it. I have also fill up a form on the pirate website & no one as ever got back to me!!!!
Really? Le pirate....
I would greatly appreciate if someone from the pirate be in touch as a courtesy response.
Also stayed in the Pirate a few days earlier. While the atmosphere is pretty cool. The family room next to The hot water was very noisy( including the bar just above the room)

I stayed here for 3 nights with a friend. The rooms are tiny cabins with no soundproofing. You will be woken up by the mosque nextdoor at literally 4am everyday for a half hr long prayer concert. The WORST part was the inconsistent water. Each day the water would not be working for hours on end. That means no showers in the high humidity, and no flushing your turds down the toilet! Great when you're sharing a cabin with a friend, eh?

Lastly, we took a day cruise to Komodo National Park. Turns out hey charge up to double what other companies charge to visit less locations. Our boat left over an hour later than expected so by the time we got to Rinca is was midday and all the Komodo dragons were hiding out from the sun. FAIL.

Staff, food, and live music were nice at least.

Stayed here for one night as I had a tour very early the next morning. Rooms are small, I am not sure how two people would stay in a double room with luggage. The bathroom is extremely basic, so I was very glad I was only there for 1 night.
The hotel is on the main road, so extremely noisy. Do not stay here if you value sleep!

Gret place to stay before/ after sailing. The room is simple and clean, with huge bathroom compared to boat and great concept of the hotel its self. Friendly staff. But this hotel doesnt have lift or escalator so will not suitable for disabled and elderlies.

Would definitely recommend to my friends if they come to Labuan Bajo!

We stayed elsewhere but wish we had known about this place. Central, pool, bar, clean cheap accommodation. We went for drinks and sunset view over Komodo Island Group and it was lovely.
Not 5 star but there are few places in this town that could rate 4.
You could see into cleaned rooms and they looked clean and basic.
Friendly staff. Some people just came up to read and chill in day.
Most action is on islands and diving so most people are on a gap day either side of island trips to Komodo et al.
Not much to to in town except seafood market in evening or hire bike and tour around area.
