Just returned from a fantastic stay at South Lodge, what a beautiful cottage!! We found the owners to be extremely accommodating and the cottage really felt like home! absolute 5 star luxury, the room with the four poster bed and balcony was magical and had a real Romeo and Juliet feel to it! Would love to return one day and... More

My boyfriend and I visited Kilham Hall for a weekend in September. On arrival we were greeted at the door by Joanne who instantly made us feel welcome. She led us to our room, the Fairfax where we were greeted by a gorgeous 4 post bed and magnificent view, and explained about all its features and it was lovely there... More

We agree with MLRNW3's review, so won't repeat it. But will add ... Towels, robes, and slippers provided for when you use the pool (which we did). Biggest problem ... what to choose from the exceptional breakfast buffet and cooked breakfast menu! Cross with self for forgetting my(size 8 1/2) tennis shoes! Joanne & David can offer the loan of... I have stayed in many Michelin starred establishments but this one is right up there with the best, you can have all the fancy interior design you like but if the hosts/proprietors don't love what they're doing and indeed 'like' people, it will show. The thing is, this place has the beautiful interiors and hosts who obviously love what they're... More

“Fairfax room if you like a four poster bed”
 of 5 bubbles hughs817, 26 Oct 2013 | Read review
“Fairfax room overlooks the tennis court and fields beyond. It has foorposter bed, and one of the posts obscures view of the flatscreen TV ... so not ideal if you like to watch TV in bed. Door to the ensuite would also obstruct view of TV if left open/ajar. Ensuite has an extractor, as the window doesn't open, so expect a little steaming up when showering,”

“All the rooms are beautiful. My advice would be to do some homework on where you want to eat or take Joanne's advice. A good meal will just add to your overall experience of staying here.”
