Window On The Otways offers 2 bespoke luxury cabins nestled within a 26 acre ecological sanctuary in the stunning Lorne Hinterland, featuring sensational views over the Great Otway National Park. Our first little cabin... The Treehouse is set amidst tall eucalypts and looks over the property herb garden into the vast and beautiful Pennyroyal Valley and ranges beyond. The Treehouse sits at the top of a natural ridgeline and is built on a high cantilever frame, giving it the feel of being literally up in the trees. Expansive views from the bedroom, bathroom and balcony are gently filtered through tree trunks offering a real feeling of seclusion and forest retreat. This luxurious and modern version of a treehouse is easily accessible with a level pad at the entrance meaning no stairs to climb, but all the fun of being up where the birds nest. This gorgeous little cabin is superbly appointed, with careful attention to all the luxurious details that make for a truly relaxing escape. With magnificent Otways bushland as far as your eyes can see, the Treehouse is a wonderful bespoke forest retreat. Sit on the balcony of your cabin at night and gaze at millions of stars while frog song fills the air. Snuggle by the woodfire or in the deep double spa with candles and huge windows looking across the valley. Wake in a cosy bed to the beautiful chorus of forest birds and gentle morning light filling the sensational views. Stay in bed with a cuppa and watch as the forest dances, and clouds move across the horizon. Nourish yourself in The Nook - full spectrum sauna and chromotherapy meditation space. Or head out to explore the many extraordinary offerings of the Otways region, returning to your own private sanctuary. Soak up the tranquility, unwind and recharge away from the hustle and bustle. Less than 2 hours from Melbourne and only 15 minutes leisurely drive through forest to the stunning coast and thriving township of Lorne. Enjoy nature at its finest. Window On The Otways has offered much loved forest accommodation for 20 years, and has been with the current owners for the last 7 years. Our cabins receive consistently outstanding reviews and have a 5 star rating on multiple platforms. As a small family bush business we love offering this wonderful place for people to escape, relax and enjoy. Window On The Otways is on Gadubanud Country, traditional Land of the People of the Eastern Maar. We thank and acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of this Land, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place to base ourselves for a few days in the Otways. Private and quiet, it was a perfect place to relax at the end of each day. Simple but great breakfast provisions and the bed was terrific. Easy to find, great support from the host while booking.

It is freezing during winter but shouldn't be a reason to stay home. First impressions are important so entering a small Cosy shack should have been memorable in the right way but wasn't. Raining cold wet we entered and was very disappointed the heater was not on just as cold inside as it was outside. We have stayed in alot of places and it's the little things like that you don't forget. Generous provisions not at all. Lucky we checked the fridge before having to leave to find a warm location whilst the shack warmed up to a comfortable temp. Had to purchase the little things like juice mushrooms etc these have always been the little ad ons in other romantic stays. The info sheets explaining charges on soiled towels and putting your own rubbish out is not what you want from a weekend away. Reminding a male that wanted to take his wife on a nice weekend that he should have read your email fully as we tried to figure out the front door lock for entry with you over the phone is also not a great first impression. Veiws would be the only nice thing I have to say about our stay

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon weekend and we can’t fault it. Incredible location, beautiful accommodation and unforgettable little touches of care that made our stay the best it could be. We loved sitting by the fire listening to the rain and enjoying all that the cosy spot had to offer. The care that was taken in the process leading up to our stay by Claire (the owner) was exceptional. The bed was luxuriously comfortable, the kitchen was perfectly sized and equipped with everything you’d need, including locally sourced food for breakfast in the morning. It’s these small touches, along with the eco friendly products and things like essential oils and candles that made this place stand out above the rest. Thank you for such a beautiful weekend away, and we will certainly be back for future holidays.

This is a gem about 20-30 minutes out of Lorne! My partner and I stayed for 2 nights and were really impressed by the well-designed cabin, the amazing views and the complimentary provisions (think artisan bread, local jam and bubbles!). There was a lovely bath, and a small kitchenette, which is sufficient for a short stay. Happy to recommend this place for couples travelling along the Great Ocean Road, with time to explore the surrounds.

I have just come home from the most peaceful relaxing weekend away at Window on the Otways. The cabins are positioned privately in the beautiful bush surrounds. The only noise we could here were the frogs at night & the birds in the morning. Relaxing spa, delicious breakfast provisions & very comfortable bed. We will definitely be back!

Great Accommodation with a fantastic outlook. The owner was amazingly pleasant and the Spa room and sauna facility incredible. A lovely place to start and end exploring the beautiful Otway Ranges and only a 15 minute trip to Lorne.

Lovely secluded spot for pure relaxation with lots of wonderful close tourist areas around to visit. All amenities spot on including a delicious breakfast. Only disappointment didn't stay longer and very hard to leave.

This is such a beautiful place, we found it very hard to leave! The cabins are beautifully appointed, with incredible views. The breakfast supplies are local produce and delicious. The zen den on site is such a nice touch with a lovely big spa and a sauna. Maryann was wonderful and welcoming. Only 15 mins from town, we went on some amazing hikes in the otways and just loved our whole time there. 2 nights was definitely not enough!

After reading other reviews staying here definitely lived up to expectations. We were lucky enough to experience blue skies and sunshine, as well as a rainy day! Both were just as amazing! All the added extras are delicious and the bathroom products are so nice! Experiencing the relaxing Zen Den is a must! Massive spa and sauna! Simple to book your own private time slot, which provides ample time for you to enjoy. Maryanne is a fantastic friendly host and makes you feel very welcome. Thanks for providing such a lovely place to stay.

What a wonderful little part of the otways and great ocean road, the view was impeccable which was equaled by the accomodation!! It was cosy and romantic, and it was topped of with extra things that I've never come by in a hotel (like finding decent shampoo and local delicacies) 10/10 would recommend I'll be going back!
