Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was not sure what to expect after my phone booking - but my room was well presented and very clean with everything I would need for the night. Motel is set back from the main road and my room was very quiet - and the motel is in a pleasant bushland area with a great sized pool and picnic area. It is part of the ANSTO (Atomic Reactor) but that was not mentioned on their website so I almost missed it when driving past. Price was very reasonable . Only negative would be that the Reception was not open after 6pm on a Saturday night nor when I went to book out but I only had to ring the bell and a staff member arrived to take my payment. The Dining room was also not open on the weekend so I could not order a hot breakfast. Would recommend this motel to anyone wanting to stay in the Southern suburbs of Sydney .

We were really surprised at the quietness surrounding this motel in a bush setting not far from Bangor and Sutherland.

I would recommend this hotel for those who are visiting with friends or family but feel the need to stay seperately.

Sounds like a great motel but not sure it lives up to the term 'Motel'.

It's a great place for a quiet stay within the ANSTO grounds. Interesting science to discover on the tours - you can even visit a nuclear reactor. This also means police close by and 24/7 security. The motel is far away enough from the road and since the ANSTO staff leaves overnight the only thing you'll hear are birds. Very neat garden area and super friendly staff. Access to some bush hikes right outside the door. As long as you have a car, it's a great place to stay!

Surrounded by bushland in a very quiet and secure location 30 minutes drive from CBD, this motel is very affordable for young families. The township of Menai is 5 minutes drive down the road, turning right out of the entrance to the motel. Supermarkets, cafes and Asian noodles and dumplings aplenty. A 25 metre swimming pool is solar heated so not advised for the colder months. Our family suite two bedroom and FULL kitchen was warm and comfortable, the staff friendly but non intrusive. Short drive to Royal National Park, recommended visiting. Great value for money, security 10/10 by Australian Federal Police and even a discounted shuttle bus to the train station. Plus huge flock of King Parrots to greet you each morning. Highly recommended accommodation, great quiet and secure location, great hosts.*****

Staff friendly. Rooms clean. A large games room and a pool and a café next door. I travelled with my elderly parents to a funeral at the Woronora Cemetery about 10 mins away. We had a family room with Mum and Dad having the main bedroom with a king size bed and ensuite. I slept on a trundle bed in the large lounge/sitting area. All very comfortable and ideal for our situation. At $151 for the night the value was fantastic.

I spend a few days here every six months or so due to work commitments and find that although it hasn't had any major renovations since it was built, it is still a clean and tidy motel that is a short drive from Menai Marketplace shopping ccentre with all the major shops and a selection of restaurants. It is located in the ANSTO precinct but is managed privately. Dinner is available so long as you pre-order by about midday. There is a basic games room with a pool table and dart board and a full size swimming pool is located 50m from the accommodation and is available to motel guests. All in all it is a very tranquil location and the managers are lovely people.

Located close to ANSTO in a nice green area the motel changed owners very recently. The rooms have a super nice bed and a new bathroom. Laundry is free of charge and one can seat outside or in the lounge area to drink nice Australian wine and enjoy some food that can be both from the Deli at Menai Mall. Barbecue facilities available outside. The rooms are a little damp but running the air conditioning for a while helps out. Good place to sleep for a couple of days. Having a car is a must! Charming and friendly owners.

Disappointing to say the least, no parking at units, had to carry cases 117 paces and I am over 6 feet so not mincey steps. Also we are in our 70s. Too few parking spots for number of rooms. The outside is very neglected and a few bob on turf to cover the big bare patches would be well spent. One walkway is narrow so one case at a time. The smart TV wasn't. Only pump foam soap, no bars, doesn't make it easy in the shower. Rooms are a good size and clean, as is the bathroom. Ample tea and coffee. Service was prompt and friendly. Would not stay again, go the extra few Ks to the highway and get accommodation there.

We needed a night in the shire during summer holidays and found this place was great value for money. It is clean, quiet and given it's attached to the nuclear reactor, extremely safe with 24/7 police protection. It has a slight institutional flavour and you will need to bring your own food or drive 5 to 8 minutes for service in Menai. Totally worth it for the price.
