Good clean friendly campground. Cabins a bit tired, but an great place to pitch a tent. Shared facilities clean and tidy. Nice and central to lots of activities, Able Tasman, the great Taste Trail and the wharf with all its bars and restaurants.

I really liked it at Mapua leisure park the park was tidy the staff seem to be friendly about a 10 minute walk to the wharf where most of the restaurants and bars are. The supermarket on the main road coming into Mapua is close as about 10 minute walk or two minute drive the location is very central. We...

We stayed in a cabin, as part of our bike tour with Trail Journeys. Despite having only 1 bedroom they put a single and a couple together in the same cabin, not a great start. But nothing compared to the disgraceful sagging bed we had that guaranteed a sleepless night in preparation for a 40km ride the following day.

We were lucky to have a powered site right on the water on the estuary. Good kayaking once you traverse the rock wall, although we did not venture out into the open water here. Facilities clean and provided 'family/unisex' showers. Discrete nudity allowed. Power box was a little too far from our site and we had to use extension cords...

We payed a lot of money for a shabby very tired motel unit. There were extra fees for wifi and washing which I could understand if you were just paying for a tent site but not at motel prices. The pool was great the staff friendly and everything was clean inside but the birds poop was over the table and...

We arrived later than expected and met by friendly staff. Sadly we discovered that although it's promoted as clothing optional this was only in the pool, sauna, cabin and about 20m in front of the beach...the bed was original from the 1970's along with the threadbare carpet. Not a place we would revisit :-(

We stay regularly here in our caravan. Plenty of space, lots of friendly people around, great atmosphere, and lots to do in the district, swimming, kayaking, cycling, restaurants, coffee etc. Facilities pretty good, generally well maintained. The on site Boat House restaurant is excellent too.

We stayed one night here while cycling the Great Taste Trail. The cabin was comfortable. Request Cabin 21 if you get a chance as its right near the water and you can wake up to great views. A big surprise was the great restaurant. We expected burgers and chips but it had a European feel to it. The shared plates...

We were charged a $10 entry fee to visit friends. We were a bit surprised and when we asked the less-than-pleasant staff in reception why, it was to cover use of facilities. We had a swing in the playground to feel we got our money's worth. Our advice is it's best to meet offsite at any of Mapua's great cafes....

Lovely place, quiet & laid back even though the park was almost full. I was lucky to stay in a friends caravan while they were away. The Tui birds woke me with bird sound not other campers. A family camping ground, very Kiwi. Loved it
