Travelling with another couple we had a wonderful time in this beautiful estate. The house and grounds were truly beautiful and timeless. Our room was in the house and was a standard room. It was comfortable although the hair dryer was sticky and gross the room was clean and comfy. The included breakfast was varied and outstanding. We played snooker but along with any other social gathering including chatting in the lounge we were reminded m brusquely by a rather stern woman that 8pm was time to retire for the comfort of other guests. The staff were otherwise lovely and happy to accomodate. We did feel that the high tea and degustation dinner missed the mark somewhat. Ok but not excellent...the flavours were at times muted and the protein was over cooked resulting in it being a little dry. Portions of the proteins in the degustation were tiny and felt mean. Desert however was excellent.
Overall a very good stay that could be outstanding with a few tweaks. Excellent value and beautiful grounds, take it up if you get the chance

We booked this several months ago via Red Balloon and had the three course lunch which was excellent. The slow cooked shoulder of lamb for two was fantastic but too big for us. We could not eat it all no matter how hard we tried. The vegetables as a side dish were perfectly cooked, reasonably priced and the roast potatoes we simply the best.
All the entree’s looked very good with four or five choices. I had the scallops which I really enjoyed and the strudel for desert, was not to be missed. There were four or five main dishes to suit most tastes.
George our waiter could not have been more helpful.
Highly recommended and we will definitely go again with family and friends.

My wife and I stayed in a lakeside Chalet for two nights. It is very spacious with a separate bedroom, large en suite with a spa bath, lounge and kitchen. Reverse air conditioning provides additional comfort. Also has a private verandah with a table and two chairs to enjoy the views of the lake.

Breakfast was excellent with gourmet a la carte selections, plus a buffet to choose from.

We had high tea with sparkling wine, one afternoon at 3 pm and it was nice. Dinner was excellent (although expensive).

The lake and the extensive grounds provide serene views and a tranquil atmosphere. The weather in Autumn was very nice with top temperature of 25 degrees celsius.

Upon arriving were welcomed then asked to wait in the Drawing Room for someone to be brought to seat us at our table. After 15 minutes with no one attending to us and not even being offered a drink, my partner waving out her arm caught a staff member’s attention. We were then taken to our table right down the very back of the brasserie, where we were seated and again waited another 15 minutes before a waiter came to our table. Decor was out dated even for its era, As we opened the window where our table was situated the window latch was broken and hanging off and the Sash window would not even stay up and open. Given there were only two other couples dining in the Brassiere restaurant, who left soon after we arrived where we were were dining, we found the service appalling. We actually had to ask for water during our lengthy half hour wait, and then ask to order a drink! We felt largely ignored, out of sight out of mind! The meal was nice enough, although only slightly above what I would call Pub standard. After paying, we ordered our Uber, and left without staff even noticing or acknowledging our attendance! Will not return and believe there are many other places along the Mornington Peninsula that are worthy of taking anyone’s hard earned dollars. Woodman Estate is largely overrated and failed to deliver advertised standards.

Hi David We always welcome fair and constructive feedback of our accommodation, dining and wellness services from our guests however, on this occasion, we do not agree with the comments you have chosen to share. We just wanted to recap on the lead up and day of your visit. Your partner called on 29 October to book a 7 course degustation experience for Friday 20 November at 6pm, which was to be confirmed. On the evening of 20th November we still had not received a call so we made contact to confirm the booking. The booking then changed and you decided to dine in the Brasserie which is a completely different menu. We confirmed your reservation for 7pm (which was appreciated) and you mentioned you'd be with us shortly. You arrived later than expected and most of our diners had already left for the evening. You were taken to your table in the Atrium beyond the Brasserie restaurant (we felt provided a more private space for your special celebration) and when you raised your concerns at the wait, our Restaurant Manager offered complimentary glasses of sparkling wine. We pride ourselves on providing a wonderful, relaxed dining experience and, in such a peaceful spot, our guests appreciate the time to take in the views and savour the experience. We have been operating for more than 20 years and we do not accept nor agree with the views you have chosen to express in this public forum. If you wish to discuss your concerns further you can reach us on 03 5978 8455. Regards, Rick Owner ~ Woodman Estate

We had a delicious high tea. The only downfall was the crockery/dinner set was very cheap thick white dinnerware. This could have been improved for such a beautiful location for high tea. The variety of the high tea food was very nice and the coffee/ tea was very nice.

My husband and I went to Woodman Estate for a belated 50th birthday for me. I was unable to celebrate last year due to complete lockdown.

I have food intolerances and the chef did an amazing of job with our meals there to ensure that my meals were delicious whilst eliminating the things I cannot eat.

The food was fantastic and the staff were amazing. Alicia provided us with a list of places to see and helped us with places to eat as well. The staff in the restaurant were also amazing they chatted with us and gave us more ideas of what and where to visit. I cannot praise this hotel and it's staff enough. If you want a beautiful location, food and a relaxing time this is your place. Can't wait to return.

We stayed in one of the Chalets for our wedding night 6 years earlier and thought we would visit again with friends. Again, this luxurious property did not disappoint. Chef prepared a beautiful 3 course dinner in the formal dining room Saturday night which was out of this world. Breakfast each morning was delicious and the staff were accommodating to our every whim, special thanks to Rick and his amazing team for a truly memorable weekend away at your beautiful property.

We were extremely disappointed in our stay here. The promise and price of the beautiful grounds etc did not extend to the accommodation. We had a Lakeside Chalet, which had wonderful views, but sadly lacked the basic cleaning you’d expect from a 4/5 star rating.
Upon arrival, we found the toilet seat needed to be wiped down of cleaning products before it could be used, there was a used and gooey mess of soap in the soap dish in the shower, the freezer tray in the fridge was over flowing and cascaded all over the floor when the door was opened, and there was a massive sticky mess on the kitchen bench.
Not wanting to “make a fuss”, we left a note for the cleaners, rather than going straight to management. Unbeknown to us, management read that note on the 1st day, but nothing was said until we were leaving after a 3 night stay, and then it was excuses about Covid and staffing issues.
We were told that our complaints were taken very seriously, and that “they would be in touch with us”. Well its been 3 months since our stay, and we haven’t heard a word. Suffice to say we will not be back and will not be recommending this pricey farce to anyone.

Booked a chalet and garden room. The chalet meets all expectations, simply charming.
The aim was to relax and rejuvenate, that we did.
Gorgeous lake cottage with gas log fire and spa with a view. A huge 4 poster bed screamed luxury.
We chose the 3 course dining option in room which was amazing. Breakfast included and a choice of plates with fruit, coffee and juice.
Finished our stay with a walk around the lake.
Big Thank you to the service provided, particularly Ashlee, she really is a lovely lady and I appreciated the extra kind service.
I hope others consider staying here, especially those after a romantic whimsical weekend.

We were delighted with our three days stay. Our room (a spa suite) and bathroom were spacious, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The grounds and property in general are very well maintained and everything looks lovingly cared for and super-clean. The staff were attentive, responsive and unobtrusive.

If I absolutely have to suggest an improvement I would say that breakfast from 0830 to 0930 is a bit too early, since you are on a holiday you don't want to get up earlier than a working day!

Other than that we can't fault it. We would absolutely return and recommend.

The Lakeside Chalets are ground floor accommodation right the water's edge. The Garden Rooms and Spa Suites are all located on the first floor with easy stair access available.
