Don't expect a Tuscan Villa with a swimming pool - La Capanna is different: it is an outhouse of an old farm that has been renovated, partly rebuilt and thoughtfully converted into a self-contained holiday apartment. It is small but has everything you need and...More
The scenery around Montisi is utterly breathtaking. Having visited a number of parts of Tuscany, the golds and ocres is this area in summer make it my favourite. As for Montisi itself, its small and friendly and particularly enjoyable around the time of the Festival...More
We arrived at the end of a hot dusty country road and didn't know what to expect - we were totally charmed by both the view and the cottage and decided to return almost before we'd arrived! Our hosts, including their daughter, were very friendly...More

I apologize for the late reply. I'm afraid La Capanna is under a long-term rental agreement at the moment, until September 2015. Rental for a month during the summer would usually be 1000 euro and it would make an ideal writer's retreat, so I am indeed sorry not to be able to accomodate you. However, just down the lane from us is Casa Campreti. The owner doesn't speak English but we can intercede for you if you're interested (Google search Casale Campreti Montisi).
Perhaps you can reach an agreement for the smaller appartment. The house is a way off the beaten track, like ours, nestled in the countryside and surrounded by olive trees, so it is very peaceful. But the village of Montisi is just a 15-20 minute walk away and offers most things you might need, including a bar, a grocer's, a pizzeria, an excellent trattoria and lots of friendly faces!
Wherever you go, I hope you have a peaceful and proficuous summer retreat.
