Long country walk followed by lunch at the Cat. Decent selection on the main menu and a good specials board. Good wine list and selection of ales at the bar. I ordered a burger which was nicely produced and very tasty. Prices are as you'd expect for a pub/inn in that kind of location. Not cheap, but not extortionate. Meal...

I had a fantastic meal here over Christmas. The steak, ale and mushroom pie was heavenly and the strong green veg and mash finished it perfectly. My party also had fish and chips and mushroom tart and I could have eaten any of theirs. The service was excellent.

We had a great meal here tonight after seeing good reviews online. A vegetarian starter of beetroot and quinoa salad was excellent, really fresh and lots of flavourful ingredients. For mains, the lamb rump with pearl barley and salt baked celeriac was again full of flavour and well cooked and my partner enjoyed her rib eye steak with peppercorn sauce....

Sadly The Cat Inn did not live up to its reputation for any of us when we visited. It was surprisingly quiet in The Cat not busy at all which was surprising so close to Christmas. The starter was beautifully presented & absolutely delicious. Our mains however were disappointing so we quietly and politely advised the Asst Manager and our...

Had dinner for 4 at The Cat, As always village country pub atmosphere excellent. Service both at the bar and at the table exemplary. Reserved the Galley both situated by the bar which gives you a great pub atmosphere. Gastro pub food served promptly to usual high standard. Great choice of local tap beer and extensive wine list. Local wines...

We visited for dinner after an evening walk at Wakehurst Place and loved every single minute. Although a small cramped bar, which was full of locals, the welcome was really friendly and we were quickly shown to our table. The menu is packed with seasonal delights - when we visited there were lots of dishes featuring pigeon and blackberries, so...

Went with GF for lunch on her birthday. Fantastic place. Unfussy, great food and staff. It was a bit of a punt but ended up being a very good one. Not cheap but not mad prices. Either way we had a fabulous time. I recommend this one as apparently a lot of other people do!

We spent a lovely, relaxing weekend at The Cat. It's set in a pretty, quiet village with great forests and fields surrounding it, not to mention the picturesque old church opposite. Our room was delightful with a nice view over the church and quiet street below. The bed was extremely comfortable and the rainforest shower and Bramley toiletries were lovely....

Having been a regular camper nearby we always use this pub for our afternoon/evening drink. It's my birthday this week so decided to book a night away. The room was beautiful, light but cosy with everything there. The products in the bathroom were amazing so will be buying them online. We had dinner booked which we enjoyed and carried it...
