The location is rural, so therefore it is peaceful and quiet. There are beautifully maintained gardens within the property. We stayed in the cottage which is decorated tastefully, in the theme of the history of the building's original use as a dairy, and the various antique or older pieces of furniture or knick-knacks, complemented this perfectly. It has its own picket fence and surrounding garden with an outdoor area at the back to sit and enjoy the summer evenings. The cottage is comfortable to stay in and very functional with its own kitchen and large bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped and offered a great choice of items for you to make your own breakfast. There is a mini bar of wine, beer and soft drink, another great feature, operating the same as at a motel, where you pay for what you drink. The bed was comfortable and warm. The thoughtful "small" touches such as afternoon tea when we arrived, the muffins in the fridge for supper, the basket of fresh fruit, and finding our bed turned down when we returned from our function, all added up to an enjoyable stay. Chris & Kaye are very helpful and perfect hosts.
We have no hestitation in recommending this property as a great place to stay.

Stayed at the B & B after a long motorcycle ride. We chose the cottage which I feel is the best option. We arrived late at night and the owners were nice to have the Log pot belly on so the room was warm and we could thaw out. The only issue is that it was winter and cold and when we woke in the morning we wanted the log fire on again but owners said we could not start the fire because it is difficult to clean for the next people arriving. This was the only let down. I think that they should work out a way to clean it or just keep it going for the next arrivals? It is a cabin with a log fire and it would have been nice to have it crackling away instead of the sound of an air-conditioner.

Kaye and Chris are amazing hosts. Our stay here was a gift from our kids for our wedding anniversay. We were greated with a fabulous afternoon tea. Kaye had arranged chocolates and bubbly as part of our stay, both were a great selection. Our large room was beautifully decorated, the bed very comfortable. The ensuite bathroom large and tastefully decorated. We went out for dinner in Warragul. When we arrived back to Springbank, Kaye made us a drink and left us with some truffle chocolates, yum. There is a fridge and tea and coffee facilities in the room also. We had privacy as Kaye and Chris saw to our needs and left us to enjoy their lovely home. The breakfast was to die for. Firstly we had Pears baked in butter with a caramel sauce and topped with the best yoghurt ever. There was a selection of muesli and cereals and fresh juices to choose from. Then we had croissants with home made jams, berries and cream. Tea and coffee. The presentation was superb. Kaye and Chris are extremely friendly, easy to talk to people. We would highly recommend a stay here.

I came in late and left relatively early and feel I didn't do this offering justice in some respects.

What I can say is that the service was good. The cottage very homey with a nice wood heater ready to go. Light continental breakfast provided. Very quiet - awakened to the sounds of cattle mooing, which is a pleasant contrast to traffic noise! Furnishings in synch with the property and the area. Fast internet provided. Split system A/C available. Small kitchen area and spacious bathroom with a shower contained within the cottage. Nice outlook from the veranda of the cottage over paddocks with hills in the distance. Soft and comfortable bed.

The tariff is very fair for what is offered. The next time I go back will be less rushed so I can enjoy what the B&B has to offer.

There are not enough words to describe our stay. You need to do yourself a favor and stay a night or weekend like we did, everything took our breath away.
From arruving to leaving, our hosts made us feel very welcome, they went the extra step to make your stay one never to forget. Home made treats were just mouth watering. A suprise was having the cows in the paddock directly next to us and it was so lovely to stay in such a warm and fuzzy Dairy Cottage. A must for all to expierence.

If travelling through the West Gippsland region, this is a great place to stop over. We stayed in the cottage (the dairy). The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome with lots of personal touches. It is snug and comfortable. The breakfast ingredients provided are generous. We also pre-ordered a cheese platter with a side salad for dinner and it was great - saved us going out for dinner.

Thank you for your comments on how lovely you found our property, gardens and surroundings. Shame that you felt we limited your privacy as this is certainly not our intention. We decided some ten year ago not to have individual TV's in each room as it was not becoming for this historic property and have found over this time no issue with guests sharing a TV in the common family room. Again, we take your comments on board and will strive harder to offer greater privacy. Regards, Kaye

Trying to convince my wife to get away for a couple of nights as just "husband and wife", without the rest of the family (2 children and a dog) was a challenge. However, I found Springbank, which seemed to tick all the boxes, including not having to drive too far from Melbourne, given our time limitations.

Kaye and Chris are fantastic hosts, their home is magnificent, the environment picturesque and relaxing - what more could you want? Much time, thought, effort and expense has gone into Springbank in terms of furniture, decoration and facilities including a beautiflly maintained garden. The facilities are fantastic. Breakfasts are no doubt the best I've had in all my extensive travelling - Kaye's culinary skills are great. We really enjoyed Kaye's delicious baked pears as well as a magnificent cooked breakfast on our second morning. The yoghurt and fruit toast are both the best I have tasted. The chocolates and port provided on our return from dinner in Warragul were a very nice touch and highly appreciated.

We chose the Batema room which has exclusive use of a delightful adjacent sitting room. As we were the only guests in the house however, we ended up having exclusive use of the beautiful, spacious family room also. We would have been equally happy with the Evison room which is large enough to have it's own couch and features a private balcony. The separate cottage also looks fantastic if you prefer to be a little more independant and private.

We intend sending my parents there for a weekend away, perhaps for their next anniversary and we intend returning also.

We highly recommend this lovely experience to you.

I've now stayed twice with Kaye and Chris and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when I'm in this area. The house is warm and welcoming, and each room has it's own private sitting area as well as access to the lovely family room - with beautiful views across the valley. free wireless internet is a real bonus for business travellers like myself.
From the minute you arrive you're made to feel at home, and if you're lucky enough to arrange to have dinner, then Kaye's cooking will delight you.
There's also a cottage which would be perfect if you're staying a couple of nights and enjoying the area and want to look after yourself.
The gardens are beautiful, the atmosphere is peaceful and the hosts offer whatever level of privacy or companionship you need.
