Detailed Reviews

Lovely hotel right on the waterfront at the quiet end of Caloundra, gorgeous views. We stayed for 8 nights in a studio on the 9th floor and were amazed how large the room and balcony were. Balcony has a lounger as well as chairs and table. Be aware that other guests may smoke on their balconies (against rules) and this may drift your way. Very comfy bed and nice bedding, very comfy lounge suite and TV in lounge area and bedroom with basic channels. Nice shower strength although it is in the bath not a separate shower and quite difficult to get into. Internet worked absolutely fine the whole time. Kitchen has basic cooking utensils and washing up liquid and drycloth but no dishwasher. Some of the towels were a little thin, others OK. NOTE - your room is only serviced once during an 8 night or more stay! No cleaning materials provided in the room so your room stays dirty for longer than I would have liked to live in such a state. We asked for fresh towels and received them at reception every 2nd day as this was unpalatable to us to use towels, facecloths and bathmat, that long. Our room was only serviced on our 6th day. Two nice washing machines and one drier available for free on each floor (BYO laundry powder). Clothes horse on your balcony but no pegs so we bought some. Tried hard to get us to come to a timeshare seminar when we checked in but I firmly said no as were on holiday wanting to enjoy our time not come to a sales presentation. Currently they are doing renovations to rooms and there is noise all day on weekdays. Not too much of an issue if you plan to be out and about. Carpark under building often runs out of space and you have to park outside and walk a bit, ok once you get used to it. There are no tennis courts at the moment due to the renovations. And the refreshments that are supposed to be on sale by the pool where never open whenever we were at the pool. Nice pool and spa, a little small but if you go quieter time of the day there should be enough room to enjoy yourself.

The friendly staff greeted us with champagne or cold drinks. We were upgraded as I mentioned it was my hubby’s big birthday so we had a nice one bedroom unit on 8 th floor. Each apartment probably varied as owned by different people. Ours was comfortable, with a firm bed and comfy pillows. It was very roomy with a small kitchen. The shower was in the spa so if you were less agile it would be a problem. The verandah was roomy with outdoor furniture and a lovely view over to Bribe Island. The pool was tepid and clean and the spa was large and lovely and warm. There were plenty sun lounges around the pool and a little kiosk where you can get ice creams and drinks. A Thai restaurant was connected to the hotel but a few minutes walk away was a small supermarket, bottle store, a few restaurants and cafes.
A nice surprise was a bottle of red and some chocolate for the birthday boy.

My mother turned 90, and the family gathered on Queensland's Sunshine Coast to celebrate at Golden Beach. Good times! We chose the Ramada to stay in, as it was close to everything we wanted. The Ramada staff were lovely. The motel has great presence. Parts of the kitchen were a puzzle, and it took me a while to find various cupboards (where have they put the plates?), and the pantry cupboard was so obscure I left my goods behind and had to call them when I got home to claim them. Slightly annoying.
More seriously, the bed felt comfortable, but both my husband and I had backache each morning, which was not usual for us at home, and the air-con in our ground floor room was so loud all night it was like hearing an aeroplane overhead coming in to land the entire time. I have reported that - it needs attention.
However, the location is great - a short walk to a gorgeous, quiet beach, perfect for littlies and oldies and everyone in between, the Sunday markets handy, central Caloundra just minutes away, and everything worked well. We enjoyed our time at Ramada, and we'll go again, but will ask for a different room. Recommended stay.

I love staying at Ramada Golden Beach. All of the staff are efficient, friendly and willing to go the extra mile. The rooms are practical, clean, and have been designed to take maximum advantage of the uninterrupted water views, which change daily, depending on the weather and time of day. Ramada's location is perfect, with a great range of shops and cafes just one short block away. The pool is useable all year round and, with a walk-in section (great for 'oldies' and toddlers), a waterslide, spa, and well thought-out poolside seating. There is so much to do both at the resort and in the surrounding area. I have only good to say about Ramada Golden Beach.

From check in to checkout the stay was fantastic!! We were asked if we wanted a drink on arrival which was unexpected but very nice. Staff at checkin were friendly and very helpful. The room we had was very nice and comfortable and the main thing very clean :) we made use of the very nice pool area and the electric scooters which was also supplied free of charge because we were staying. We will 100% be back and have already started recommending this awesome little find to everybody we can

Booked an Ocean view room through Expedia but they gave me a room on the ground floor where you couldn't see the ocean through the palm trees. I was also being bitten by mosquitoes in the room. I asked to move to an Ocean view room but they said they didn't have one - hard to believe for a 1 night stay on a Monday. Front desk came and sprayed the mossies and said if I had any more problems to buy bug spray at IGA. The room was clean but smelt musty. The tv was hard to watch as the internet kept cutting out. There was no dishwasher.
Went for a beach walk, a lot of the beach however was closed due to asbestos findings.
Car park underground was small and nearly full, the second Carpark was open air and a few streets away so I didn't go out in the car as I didn't want to lose my spot. This meant walking to dinner. There was Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese but nothing plain.

Dear Maccapower All our rooms face the Ocean, at times is is the luck of the draw as too which floor you are on. However, we will always allocate higher floors when we can, we are a very busy hotel and even on a Monday we are often full. I find it very surprising that we told you to buy spray from IGA, but I apologise if that is what you were told. The overflow car park is actually to the resort adjacent to the. Around 100 meters to reception. Kind regards Nigel

Fabulous stay highly recommend this Hotel. Very convenient location, walk to shops where you can get lunch"/dinner or groceries. Thai restaurant connected to this resort is sensational.
Rooms have everything you need, are very clean and fresh and views that make you want to sit on the balcony for hours.
Staff are lovely and accomodating. Will definately be a place where we re-book in the future.

Great location and has great staff
We booked 2 nights.
On arrival Room 206 was smelly and damp as we walked through the door. Damp carpets, damp sofa smelly and itchy.
I went to reception and mentioned all of this. The staff were lovely and sympathetic and organised a fresh room spray for the next morning. We went out for the whole day and when we arrived back to the room it smelt fresher. We woke up with the same smell and started getting bites.
When we returned from our day out we couldn't even sit on the couch we sat on the coffee table. We went back to reception and were moved to a room 4 doors up and finally felt comfortable.
Due to the Hotel being fully booked, we couldn't make up our time to enjoy our break over Easter which completely ruined our Easter stay.
Room 206 is a health hazard and would never go back there.
After originally complaining we were given a $50 voucher. I was told that the Hotel had full capacity and the current people who were staying there had no complaints. I was also assured that Room 206 was thoroughly cleaned recently. The following day after speaking to the Duty manager. I was called back a few days later and was offered my money back for the night.
We are still covered in bites :( Never had this before with any Hotel!!

This is a great place on a quiet stretch of beach at Sunshine Coast. It is older hotel but was comfy and clean. Room had a great view and everything I needed. Cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Try the Copper Spoon Thai for dinner next door … fabulous food! I didn’t use the pool… it’s smaller and families seemed to enjoy it. There was quite a bit of noise coming from an outdoor area on resort in evening - I couldn’t see them … but sounded like a BBQ gathering or something. Parking was minimal and tight or you have to drive around to other side of block /resort to park and walk back thru property to hotel if you don’t get in early enough. Staff were exceptional and very professional at all times and love that they are attentive, helpful, upbeat, and smiling. They were very accommodating and found me a room to stay over during a busy weekend. However, I did decide to move to another holiday resort I found that was less expensive and a bit more modern .

Booked a seaview room got allocated 212 above the restaurant and no seaview. Will be a seaview when the rest of Bribie Island is eroded away. Balcony had enough tables and chairs to seat 9 people a bit like a storage area for Ramada.

Hi There, there is a games room on site with air hockey, pinball and hammer hippo. Tennis courts on site were popular too. The local shops are a block behind the resort. Cafes have discounts with the hotel. The beach is across the road. Lots of things to do. Caloundra shops 5 min away with major supermarkets. We would revisit again because it was very relaxing. Lots of other beaches close by car too. Thanks for asking. Hope you enjoy as much as we did,
we stayed in a 2bd apartment over looking the pool and were on level 7
The shower was over a bath
