This enchanting hotel is the right place to immerse yourself in the countryside around Chiang Mai. The staff are excellent and consequently the services are of the highest standard. The restaurant was also excellent, which we used with the group of friends I was on holiday with every evening we stayed.
There is a beautiful swimming pool and the garden is truly enchanting! The bungalows are extremely clean and well-kept. A really good choice if you want to relax a bit!

We stayed here for the second time during our cycling tour in October/November. Now 6 nights in the very comfortable detached house.
A beautiful location located among the tall trees. You feel like you are in the middle of the jungle. Enjoyed the lovely large swimming pool a few times a day.
Good massage. The restaurant with its many choices is great. Good and friendly service. In one word: Awesome

the most: great welcome. The owners have made this place a haven of peace. The very comfortable bungalows are in a green garden. It's very clean. The room is cleaned every morning. Towels are changed at the customer's request. Coffee, tea, cakes, kettle available in the room. Restaurant with a very varied menu. It's very good. Swimming pool in the garden.
cons: nothing

Searching for a place to stay in the Mae Rim area we found the Unicorn; well, the Monoceros Resort. From the moment we arrived to the time we left (3 nights later) we enjoyed every minute thanks to Paul and his team. This is definitely the place we come back when in the area. And, quite unusual at least for me, we had breakfast and dinner for three consecutive days at the same place: The Monoceros restaurant!

I visited Thailand in June/July 2015 and stayed in Monoceros Resort for four days while in Chiang Mai. The peaceful setting is in the mountains outside the city and is close to many attractions (elephant camps, places to ride ATVs, adventure areas, insect museum, two waterfalls, a gorgeous botanical garden, etc). The property just opened in April of this year and the rooms are beautiful. Unlike most of Asia, there was a separate shower area with the entire bathroom tiled with a natural stone. The property was gorgeous with the bungelows placed among the existing trees. Orchids in almost every tree, flowers and plants scattered throughout and a well kept vegetable/herb garden growing in the back. If that wasn't enough, the owners were the best part. They are in the right spot in their life and their passion shows through. They made our stay in Chiang Mai! To sum it up, they couldn't do enough and were happy to do whatever they could. P.S. If you like hot and unique Thai food, order ask for some Essan food! Mom and the chef do it right.

For our stop in Chiang Mai we decided to stay in a more relaxed place a little bit outside the city. We ended up at Monoceros resort and I can tell you it turned out to be a great choice. Monoceros resort is managed by Paul and Arm who will go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. The resort itself is a treat. The rooms are free-standing bungalows with lots of room and a nice bathroom. All the bungalows (we had two of them) are spotlessly clean and very well maintained.
In the back of the resort is a small vegetable garden the herbs that they grow here are used to cook delicious Thai food in their restaurant.
If you want to check out Chiang Mai and its vicinity and like to stay at a place were you can unwind after your activities; this is the place to stay!

I spent a very happy 10 days here. It is my perfect unpretentious vacation hotel. The setting is charming- the pool agreeable - the food simple but delicious - the staff friendly and welcoming. And all for £35-40 a night!

There is lots to do near here. Trips into the mountains - elephant reserves - excellent restaurants nearby - and the excitements of Chiang Mai a mere half an hour away.

My only sadness is that the 2 owners were unexpectedly away so I did not get to meet them. I have heard they are great hosts and look forward to meeting them next week.

Can’t recommend too highly.

This is a hidden gem , the lovely lodges set in beautiful gardens with a lovely swimming pool.
What more does one want at the end of the exploring this area of Thailand .
The staff are the friendliest I have seen and the owners also who are always on hand to help with anything.
Nothing is to much trouble.
The restaurant is great too the North Thailand dishes especially from my point of view .
It’s 18 km from the city centre so easy to get to and from .
We would definitely stay here again
and use as a base

Our stay was perfect in every way. Paul was welcoming and informative. The room was spacious and immaculate. The gardens and pool were superb. WiFi was faultless. Paul helped us to secure a very good car hire deal. We would definitely make Monoceros a must if we toured Northern Thailand again.
